April 2nd, Dr. Grimm and Hatake Kakashi
Who?: Dr. Samantha Grimm and Hatake Kakashi
What?: First time meetings, asking questions, whatever!
When?: Early Evening
Where?: Dining Room
Rating?: PG, for now
Status? Complete

Dr. Grimm's body was still sore, very sore at that. She had more bruises on her than she'd originally thought she would have and her leg kept trying to lock on her. After she'd taken her bath last night she'd found, amazingly enough, an ace bandage and some painkillers that had put her at ease enough to sleep. Even though her dreams had been filled with images of the imps, of Duke being pulled through the grate, and of John dying before she'd injected him with Chromosome 24.

The better part of her day had been spent in bed, sleeping and popping pills. She didn't really feel like moving, but one time she'd rolled over and her leg had nearly locked on her. She had to get up, get her blood flowing and try to help her leg heal a little better. So she'd grabbed up her map, and found out where the kitchen was located at. After, what felt like a long trek down the stairs, she'd made her way to the kitchen and found a hot steaming plate of food already on the counter for her along with a cold glass of milk. That was odd, but at least she didn't have to stand on her feet for long to fix it. She grabbed up the plate, and moved to the massive dining table. It felt so empty being the only one seated at the large table. She shifted a little in her seat, pulling out the chair beside her and propped her leg up in it.

Pulling her plate closer to the edge of the table, she cut into the roast beef that was on her plate and took a bite. If the food happened to be poisoned it was going to be a damn good last meal. She let out a slight moan of satisfaction and licked her lips as she took another bite. Picking up her glass, she took a sip of her milk and placed it back on the table. Sam was still in the drowsy haze of the pain-killers, but she had this...uneasy feeling that started at the base of her spine and worked its way up to the back of her neck. Slowly she turned her head, looking back over her shoulder. Nothing seemed out of place, but she could've sworn she felt someone behind her. Shaking her head, and putting it off as her paranoia, she took another bite of her food.

Kakashi was angry. More then angry, he was utterly pissed! Wasn’t it enough that he had been forced to stay at some odd location with people he barely could trust and no way to get home? No. Now these ‘powers’ had to laugh in his face and throw one of the people he least wanted to see at the moment, right in the middle of his life. His student had been missing for nearly three years, forcing himself to realize he had failed the boy and in turn the team as a whole. An event he had promised to never let happen again. And yet it did. He was fated to never have a fully functioning team. It just wasn’t going to happen.

Sighing to himself, he made his way down the hall leading to the kitchens. Deciding on grabbing an early dinner to take back with him to his room, he would then be able to be left alone for the rest of the night. He highly doubted he would be that lucky. His senses pricked up as he neared the room. Someone was already there. When he reached the door he peeked around the corner carefully to make sure it wasn’t someone he was trying to hide from. Alone at the large table, sat Dr. Grimm, the woman he had met the night before. Well, she was someone he could stand to be around. Even when irritated. Deciding on this he strolled over to her to sit down not even realizing he was still moving around like someone might try to attack him at any point.

“Yo. I see you look a little better.” He stopped just within her eye site range to allow her to identify who it was bugging her meal. “May I join you?”

Samantha was enjoying her food. It was real food, not the fake crap they'd gotten on Olduvia. She could seriously learn to like this. Dr. Grimm was also glad that she was still in the foggy haze of her painkillers, that allowed her not to think too hard on John and Duke. She wasn't really looking forward to breaking down again. She knew she would though, but she quickly pushed the thought away from her mind. She didn't want to break down again. All she wanted was to see her brother, and Duke again. But she wanted Duke alive and well, and not infected.

She let out a long hum of satisfaction at her food, and then jumped at the voice behind her. Her hand jumped to right above her heart, and she let out a small nervous laugh as she turned her head to face him.

"Yes, no worse for the wear. Oh and thank you for the painkillers outside my door last night." She gave him a smile, and shrugged her shoulders. "I haven't used any of them because I found some in my bathroom, so they're under lock and key in my room. When you want them back." She nodded her head, "That's fine." She shifted a little, picking up her milk and taking a swallow of it. "This table is so big, and empty. You'd think that no one was even here." Shaking her head she took another bite of her food, and slowly chewed.

Dr. Grimm wasn't too concerned about anything at the moment. Except, of course, for the imps following her through the gates. God, she wouldn't wish them on her worst enemy, if she had any that is. Since she'd slept most of the day away she hadn't even heard the loud crash from the robot crashing into the fountain earlier, nor the banging of the door against the wall. It wasn't like the good doctor to not be observant in those types of things, but she'd been dead to the world.

Kakashi pulled out and sat in one of the chairs just a few down from her, not wanting to be too close but still be near enough and at an angle he could see her at. He shook his head as he answered. “You can keep them. I do not use them that often. Plenty more left in my room. Just make sure if anyone has them, they know to only take one every twenty-four hours. No earlier.” ANBU medicines were the strongest available drugs out there. Or at least in his country, they were the strongest. One pill worked wonders, but all were made for the worst possible situations. They always worked as a back up weapon. He’d also heard of others using them to kill themselves before the enemy could get information from them. Personally he’d rather not use them afraid he might make a mistake while under it’s influence and alone. No, they were best for only emergencies.

“The others are….busy at the moment.” He remembered the incident earlier, suppressed she wasn’t asking him about all the noise. “We had a few more guests surprise us. The others are showing them around currently.” He wasn’t going to explain in detail that one of them was nearly the equivalent to him of her monsters showing up for her. If he was lucky it was possible Sasuke might not try to cause any trouble. The boy still had that revenge streak in his eyes though. Kakashi had glimpsed it for that small second he’d looked into his eyes. Uchiha were always way too stubborn for their own good.

He glared at the table in front of him as he thought, not even registering that he was rubbing at the sharingan subconsciously as if it was hurting again. Dealing with Sasuke at a time like this, he wasn’t sure if he was ready for it. If the rest of the team was present he would let Sakura annoy him with her fanning and Naruto would beat some sense into him. It was then that he would pull him aside and give him the talk. He sighed and propped his chin up on a hand. Why are children such a pain all the time?

Dr. Grimm watched Kakashi as he moved to sit, and took another bite of her food. She raised a brow, sliding her dark gaze over to him and listened to him as he talked. "Alright, but if you ever find that you do need them you'll know where to look." She gave him a slight smile once again and took yet another bite of her food. She hadn't really even glanced at the pills he'd given her. She'd been thankful for them, no mistaking that, but she found something that she knew the name of. So, she'd went with those.

Picking up her glass of milk, she paused as she brought it up to her lips. Lowering it she licked her lips, brows furrowing for a moment. "I see." She murmured, thinking for a moment. "This mansion, whatever it is...draws people to it...doesn't it?" She looked up at him, canting her head to the side. "Or at least that's how it seems." Shaking her head she took a sip of her milk, and sat it back down on the table.

Sam grabbed up her fork again, digging into her mashed potatoes. She watched him as he glared at the table, her brows furrowing once again as he rubbed over his eye. Then he sighed. Something was up. She could feel it coming off of him.

"Do you mind if I ask you something?" She asked, raising a brow before she stuck her forkful of mashed potatoes into her mouth. Chewing slowly she thought on how to phrase her question while she waited on his answer. She wouldn't ask her question unless he said it was alright. If Samantha knew anything she knew not to pry where she wasn't wanted. Her curiosity got her in trouble more often than not. Look at what happened where she was from. That alone should've told volumes about the blonde doctor.

Kakashi nodded his head in understanding. He highly doubted that he would ever need them, but it was reassuring to know she did have them if there was ever an emergency and he wasn’t able to get to his own stash.

“I do not know if you could call it a ‘drawing’ really. I mean, most of the people coming here and already here did not feel the need to come here, rather found themselves stuck. But yes, something is pulling people to this location. And as far as I can tell, it dose not care who.” He sighed again and sat back in the chair, resuming his lazy and more relaxed pose.

He enjoyed her company. It was almost addicting how he could relax while talking with her. He could tell she’d come from a nasty situation, something he was all too familiar with. The two of them shared a type of understanding. At least that was what it felt like to himself, and he liked it. She wasn’t strange in some way. Sure she had a skeleton in her room, but didn’t most scientist types have that? Least it seemed like some of the Nara’s he had worked with before had rooms similar to hers. She was also human and only smelt of her own blood. There was no power present around her. Just a nice relaxing aura of thoughts, peace, and the smell of what ever soap it was she used.

He shrugged lightly at her question. “Why not? I have been asking plenty from you.” Her questions couldn’t hurt that bad. If he really didn’t feel like answering he could always skirt around like he often did or just tell her he didn’t want to answer. Questions could be dangerous, but she didn’t have to ask for permission to ask one at all.

She nodded her head, listening carefully to his words. Taking another sip of her milk, she sat it back down. "Exactly, there's a pull here. You can feel it once you're actually...here." Her brows furrowed slightly, "It's hard to explain, but you can feel a power here." Shaking her head she lifted a shoulder and got another forkful of her food. "I don't know really how to explain it. It's...odd, to say the least." She spoke after she swallowed, not entirely sure how to explain how she felt about the mansion. She cut into her roast beef again, and took another bite.

Chewing slowly she thought the same thing, in a roundabout way. She felt at peace around him. Then again, she hadn't really met anyone else in the mansion yet. She knew that there was more to him than met the eye, but she wasn't about to press him for information like that yet. She did want to know about him however. One thing she really wanted to know was about how he got injured, and if there was anything she could possibly do to help.

After she swallowed her bite, she gave him a slight smile. "Yeah, you have." She teased lightly, and then looked down at her food. "Are you alright? You seem a little...on edge, off, aggravated, or something that I can't put my finger on." She lifted a hand up looking back up at him, "You don't have to answer me if you don't want to. I'll understand." She gave a slight nod to him, and took another bite of her food. If he didn't want to answer he wouldn't have to at all. "But if you need to talk it out, I've been told I'm a descent listener."

Finally understand exactly which pull she was referring to, Kakashi nodded his head slowly. “It is coming from the fountain. Or at least that is what I had sensed when first coming here.” He felt it was more then just odd though. Not necessarily evil, but there was a motive behind it he felt did not have such good intentions as a house just wanting people to live in it and provide free food. Or maybe this was just all these years living paranoid now getting in the way of free boarding. “I checked out the fountain a little. But nothing seemed off about it.”

The sound of her light teasing reeled in his full attention. That was a new development for her. Maybe she was finally feeling well enough to open some personality wise. She had come from some stressful situation she obviously did not want to talk about. It would be best not to push the fact too much either.

If the showing of her teasing nature didn’t surprise him, then the question did. He was expecting her to ask about why he wanted to know so much, or even about the bandages. Pausing for a moment, he carefully collect what he was going to say. “We had a few guests show up. I knew one of them.” He watched her carefully for any and all reactions. “We will just say, we are not on good terms right now.”

The corner of Dr. Grimm's lips twitched up into a small smirk. "That's exactly what I thought." She pursed her lips slightly, thinking for a moment and took a sip of her milk. "Hmm, interesting. I might have a look at things tomorrow, if I get a chance. Not that I don't believe you." She gave Kakashi a slightly sheepish smile. "I just...I'm one of those people who have to see things for themselves." It was true, and plus she might be able to spot something that he hadn't. She didn't think she would though, but still if they had more people going over possible theories, scenarios, and so on they might have a better chance of getting back to their respective worlds.

Her head tilted softly to the side as he spoke, "Ah, not too happy to see them." She nodded, taking another bite of her food. She pushed her plate away, finally full and placed a hand on her stomach. She eyed the plate, eyes going slightly wide as it disappeared into thin air. "You know, I seriously do not like this place." She shook her head, reaching out and running her hand over where her plate had been. Nothing was off about it, in fact the wood was still slightly warm from where her plate had been.

Shaking her head, Dr. Grimm looked back up at Kakashi. "I'm sorry that you've appeared to have a bad day. Anything I can do to help?" She asked, raising a brow over at him.

“Please do. I have not seen anything really like it from my home. It might be possible that it is linked with one of the home worlds someone here comes from.” He ran a figure under the bandages behind his head. It was starting to get itchy again. Now that his cover was blown slightly, he might as well switch back over to the hatai-ate. At the very least it never itched as much as gauze tended to.

He shook his head slightly. “No. It is…complex. He use to be a student of mine. But now he is just a brat.” Dropping his hand he wondered why he even felt like explaining things to her about the whole situation. Just like the fountain drew them to this mansion, she somehow drew feelings of trust and understanding. Maybe not being a part of his world aloud him to be able to talk to her. There was no real threat of enemies finding out too much. In fact, on the subject of Sasuke’s disappearance, he was suppressed there was any secrecy over it at all. At least five major military operations already knew about the events. Three of them being their current headaches.

“It is typical. Bad days seem to like following me where ever I am.” When he brought it all down to perspective, he found he could deal with the mansion much better then dealing with the Uchiha. “Back home, there is a lot of political unrest. Small battles are sparked by these as everyone is trying to gain more power. In short my student ditched the team to join up with another. I do not think he knows how much he has broken their hearts.” He thought about Naruto and Sakura’s reactions when ever the Uchiha’s name was mentioned. At least the two of them were busy being distracted with their private training. They probably didn’t even know he was gone now as well.

Now the gauze on his shoulder was itching. He chuckled a little and gave his small eye smile to her question of help, joking back with her some. “Have any itch-proof gauze in your lab?”

Dr. Grimm nodded, "I didn't get a chance to look over it yesterday." She rubbed the back of her head a little sheepishly. "I was just too shook up." She lifted a shoulder. The only time she'd looked at the fountain had been when they'd been scaling the staircase. Even then she didn't really get a good look at it, but she'd seen something on the gates. Mentally she put that on her to-do list.

A brow rose as he began to explain what was going on. "Ah, I see." She nodded slowly, "Student didn't listen to the teacher, huh?" She offered him a small smile of understanding, and thought about her brother. It'd been ten years after their parents deaths when he left, and then another ten years before she saw him again. She'd missed him, but she'd sent him a birthday card every year. God what she wouldn't have give to see him during those ten years.

She felt a pang of sadness for Kakashi, "I'm sorry." She responded to the bad days. If there hadn't been so much space between them she would've reached out and gave his hand a pat. However, there was space and she really couldn't move her leg all that well yet. She shifted, and wiggled her toes inside her shoes as he continued talking. "So, if I'm assuming right he committed mutiny against your country?" Her brows furrowed slightly, "Does he care that he broke hearts back in your home? I'm sorry that things are like that back in your home." It seriously must have sucked for him. Sure there were battles back home, but nothing too bad in all honesty.

She laughed softly at his question and shook her head, "I'm afraid not." She paused for a moment, "How did you get injured anyway?" She canted her head to the side, "Unless you don't want to talk about it." She gave another sheepish look, knowing she was asking a lot of questions that he might not want to answer at the moment.

Kakashi thought about what little of the fountain he was able to remember when he checked it out on his first day. It was just a normal fountain with both the normal eye and the sharingan. “I am sure we have plenty of time to figure it all out before things get bad.” Or that was at least what he hoped.

“Do not worry about it. These kinds of things happen in my line of work all the time.” He paused for a moment before glancing over at her. “And that would be one subject I am not aloud to talk about. My line of work I mean.” He smiled again to ensure her things were ok and that he really wasn’t trying to be cold about the subject, just that it was something he truly was not aloud to talk about. “He did in a way. I guess it would be mutiny technically. It was a little more complex then that. But that is the basic gist of the situation. That was over two years ago. It is just….I did not expect to see him here. Or to see him at all.” In truth he had hoped to never see him again until he had learned his lesson about the way of life and revenge.

He traced a finger over the gauze where he knew the scare ran. “This? It is an old injury. Never healed right. Lost the eye.” He shrugged not really wanting to go into details to much. Being a doctor she would probably want to look at it if she knew there was still an eye there. “I normally wear a cloth band over it. But being in a new place, I did not want to seem too out of place.”

Dr. Grimm's eyes went slightly wide at the notion of things going bad. She let out a nervous laugh, "Well hopefully it won't get bad." She shook her head, picking up her glass of milk and took the final swig of it. God, she hoped it didn't get bad. That'd just royally suck. She shivered, wrapping her arms about herself as if she were cold.

She nodded slowly at his answer, "Don't worry, my brother was a Marine so I understand." She lifted a shoulder, giving him a soft smile. "But still, I am sorry that you've had to go through what you've went through." She nodded, understanding completely what he was talking about. John couldn't really talk to her about his work either, except for that one time only a short day ago. "Alright." She understood the situation a little better now, "Wow, I guess that was a big surprise then." Her brows furrowed slight before they rose again.

"Ah, I see." Her lips pursed slightly. She wouldn't ask to look, she wasn't that sort of doctor really. "And the gauze doesn't make you seem too out of place?" She teased him again, laughter dancing in her eyes as she smiled. Rolling her eyes at herself she lifted a slender shoulder, "Sorry, if I don't crack a joke, tease or something I might break down and cry again." She let out a sigh, glancing over to where her glass had been. It was gone, of course. "God, this place." She didn't know if she'd ever get used to it, honestly. However, she was thankful for the company she had. It made things seem a little less...odd around this place.

Kakashi shook his head. “I hate to sound all pessimistic, but it only makes sense. We are pulled from different back grounds to a mansion none of us have seen before. Who ever set this all up knows us well enough to set up rooms and food to our liking. Even hidden secrets our own friends have never known. It is like they are able to get into our minds. And if that is so, then there has to be more to it then to just give us a home to live in like caged animals in a zoo. It will mess with us. Test us per say. But probably to our limits.” He rubbed at his forehead some. “This is all of course the worst case scenario. I would rather be prepared for the worst and end up with the best then to have it the other way around. Maybe this is truly an all expenses paid vacation they felt we needed? Highly unlikely though. That was why I was asking you so many questions the other day. In a worst case scenario those monsters of yours may be let through. It is better to know how to fight them now then later. The same would go for my worst scenario. If my enemies showed up.”

He wasn’t sure what exactly a marine was but figured it had to do with the military of her home. “If that is so, where you trained for any combat situations?” Even though he could tell she was a civilian and not a fighter herself, many families knew of tactics at the very least or even ways to play it smart if under siege from the enemy. If this was the same for her case he would at least be able to relax some and not have to worry about her safety the entire time if they ever were under attack by someone or something.

“Civilians wear gauze over wounds. Not military affiliations over lost eyes.” He smirked in response to her teasing. He didn’t understand why she was apologizing for it when he liked it. “Then joke away. I do not want to see you upset just because someone did not like a few teases and jokes.”

Dr. Grimm watched him carefully, letting out a sigh. She too didn't want to feel pessimistic, but she felt that things could possibly get bad as well. She just hoped they really didn't, because if they did it'd be hell. "Yeah, and that really unnerves me." How else would they have known to pull her there at that exact moment? Why didn't they pull her out before the whole massacre on Olduvai happened? She raised a brow over at him as he mentioned something about tests. "I think if I'm tested again, I'll break." She murmured, looking down at the polished wood of the dining room table. She shook her head, "I don't think this is a vacation. I mean, if it was then our rooms wouldn't be like ours back at home." She gave him a soft smile, and lifted a shoulder. She shivered, wrapping her arms tighter around herself. "I hope not. Once they've started infecting people, it never stops." Her eyes never left the table as she thought on this.

She shook her head, "I know how to fire a handgun, that's about it. I was trained in science, archeology, but not combat. That was my brother, he left home when we were eighteen. Ten years after our parents died in a accident that we caused." Her brows drew together as she didn't know why she was telling him something so personal. "We're twins, he was the only reason I survived the attack on Olduvai. I injected him with Chromosome 24 so he wouldn't die. He was hit in the side with a ricocheting bullet, and like Lucy, Chromosome 24 gave him super speed, super healing abilities, and super strength." She shook her head, finally looking back over at him.

She laughed softly, "Exactly." She shook her head, and chuckled quietly. "Alright, that's a fair deal." Reaching up she tucked a stray piece of blonde hair behind her ear and bit her bottom lip.

“I have a feeling that is just what they are going to be looking for. How to break us.” Just like a kid with a new toy. Kakashi thought to himself. He leaned back in the chair pushing it up on its back legs and folded his arms in thought. “They will probably push us till we break, but slowly. I do not think they would want the game to end too soon.” Looking over at Dr. Grimm, he gave her a sympathetic eye as if wishing to apologies for her having to go through the whole situation to begin with. “We could help each other….if you want?”

He nodded in understanding. “Some training is better then nothing at all. And having been in a situation before, the initial shock should not hit as hard. I can do the fighting. As long as you can get to some place safe and protect yourself.” He really didn’t see what she was worried about with infection and it never stopping. Already it seemed not all of them were normal humans so he highly doubted the ‘infection’ would get to everyone. As for himself, he just wouldn’t let the things touch him. “Is there a vaccine? Something to prevent it or at least make it livable?”

There was one thing bothering him. How were they so sure ‘Lucy’ had such powers and no side effects? These were things that many had looked for and tried to obtain. His teacher was able to gain inhuman speed and that was just a trick of the eye and tactics. The Godaime Hokage had inhuman strength, but that was gained through precision chakra control. Naruto had inhuman healing and he was stuck with the Kyuubi constantly tarring him apart. All that obtained true inhuman abilities also had to except the consequences of such. Most of them died. The others, they were all under Orochimaru’s rule.

“If I may ask, how did you know it would work on your brother?” He felt a little regret when hearing about her parents, but pushed it off as nothing. That was a long time ago and nothing good comes from the past. “I mean, save him and not end up killing him?” He watched her bite at her bottom lip finding it kind of cute how she showed such expressions.

She shook her head slowly, "I hope your feeling is off." Dr. Grimm gave him a slight smile, "Really, I do." She still couldn't believe that 'beings', 'gods', whatever had brought them here. She needed cold, hard facts, not a silly fairy tale that was nothing more than a story. Then again, maybe that's why she'd been brought there. Because she was an unbeliever in them. Mentally she frowned at the thought, and outwardly she gave a slight smile. "Yeah, I think that might be helpful, and I would appreciate it." She didn't know if she really could go through that again. It still replayed over, and over again in her mind.

"I guess you're right on that." She had to kill several infected when they'd broke through the door. If John hadn't gave her the handgun when he did she'd probably be dead. "But it still won't make it any easier." She admitted with a soft, sad smile. Her brows furrowed slightly, "Not that I'm aware of. I told Sarge that it very well could be reversible, but without the proper samples I wouldn't be able..." She paused for a moment, a slow smile spreading across her face. "Actually, I do have the samples that I'd need. Once I'm done with looking over the gates tomorrow I'll do some tests, see if there is any possible way to prevent it." She nodded slowly, her mind already working over the possibilities.

She raised a brow at him, "Because, he didn't turn. The infection doesn't take all that long to overrun a person's system. Within moments you can tell who's turning and who's not. John held me in his arms as we made our way back to the surface, no sign of injury whatsoever." She thought for a moment, "I just...knew. I know my brother, and I knew he wasn't capable of doing evil. That's what the infection latches on, your soul."

Sitting up a little in her chair she placed her hand on the table. "In my time 10% of the human genome hasn't been mapped. Some scientists believe that that 10% holds the genetic markers for the soul. If a person had a bad soul then they would turn, or at least that's my theory on the whole thing. Honestly, I'm not too sure, but I know that not everyone who came in contact with Chromosome 24 became a monster."

Kakashi nodded in reply. “Same here.” He really wasn’t sure what they could get him on and break him with though. He had long ago excepted the deaths of his teammates and friends, continuing to live for them. He had no true needs or desires, other then to protect his village and read his favorite books. Maybe they would try to get him with his village? That was highly unlikely cause his village wasn’t here.

“That would be good. The more prepared we are, the better off we will be.” He was suppressed there wasn’t already some vaccine. When messing with something, doesn’t one create the vaccine first then mess with it? It would be the only safe way to be sure it never caused problems in a research lab. Though with what happened and all, he had to guess someone just didn’t think of it.

“So you really didn’t know if he would or not?” He paused at the mention of the infection latching onto one’s soul. That he didn’t like the sounds of. Wasn’t everyone capable of a little evil? “Is it really possible for the soul to be mapped? Does it not change at times, influenced by the outside as one grows up?”

Sighing in frustration, he set his chair’s legs back on the floor. He wasn’t very good when it came to the sciences and theories, never really having focused on it before. That was stuff to leave to the research and medical staff. This whole day had been frustrating. He thought back on all that had gone on, remembering Sasuke was still unconscious in his room. “ano….I did have a favor to ask. I could repay you for it, I do not know with what though. Most of my skills will be useless here.” He still wasn’t sure if she would be willing. There was a risk involved in Sasuke decided to retaliate. “How much medical do you know?”

"Yes, I have to agree wholeheartedly." She nodded her head, believing that the more people that worked on things that could happen at the mansion the better. Even if some of them probably wouldn't believe her when/if she told them about the events that had taken place in her time.

Dr. Grimm shook her head, "No, and yes. I know my brother, and I know that even though he's done some bad things, he's not truly evil, immoral, whatever you want to call it." She lifted a shoulder, "It could be possible, and you're right. As we grow, our soul does change. However, there was one marine in the group nicknamed Goat. He was a very religious man, a changed man, but still one of the infected got him and injected him. He knew the change was coming on him though, so he committed suicide to save everyone else." She let out a sigh, running her hand over her head. "People who change typically know they are changing, Dr. Carmack told me to shut down the lab, but I didn't listen to him." She looked down at her lap, both hands now in it as she fiddled with her fingers. She could've tried to save all of those lives, but still things would've probably ended up the way that they did.

She glanced up at him as he started to ask for a favor, her brow rising slightly. "I know a lot, well enough to get by and possibly save a life if it came down to it. Why?" She canted her head to the side, tucking a stray strand of blonde hair behind her ear. "And you wouldn't have to pay me back, you've already helped me out enough so I owe you one." She gave him a smile, dropping her hand back down into her lap.

“I see.” It still didn’t make much sense to him how the soul and genetics could be linked. At least in his home, people seemed to turn either way at any time. Maybe it was just all acting?

“Well, it seems my ex-student got himself in a bit of trouble. He was exhausted when he showed up and quickly fainted. He is in his room now. I figured we could at least give him a day to patch up himself before we play doctor on him. Just wanted you to take a look over him real quick to make sure he did not brake anything too vital.” He shrugged slightly not really sure if it was a good idea to get her involved, but with her being a third party and someone who knew very little about their world, there was a chance the Uchiha would trust her more.

“If anything, he will trust you more then me. There are a few pills he will need. I highly doubt he would take them from me. Maybe if you handed them to him, he would take them?” It was a long shot as Sasuke would know they were Konoha issued chakra pills. But if they were lucky he would still take them. If not, then he would just have to hold him down and force them in him mouth. He really didn’t mind Sasuke being so weak, but it was hard to question a prisoner if they were constantly going in and out of consciousness due to chakra depletion.

Dr. Grimm lifted a shoulder, "I don't know, it's nothing more than a theory. If I have time while here, I'll delve into it deeper." She smiled softly, lifting a shoulder.

She canted her head to the side, listening to him as he spoke. She nodded, "Oh I wouldn't mind at all to look him over at all." She smiled softly again, "He's not a danger is he?" She asked as she straightened her head, and waited on his answer.

She nodded slowly, biting her bottom lip. "Maybe, then again he might not trust me at all since he doesn't know me." She let out a soft laugh, but she was a doctor, even though she wasn't strictly a medical doctor still. "What time will you need me?" She asked, raising a brow and stole a glance down at her watch. It was getting close to time to take her own medication. A slow dull throb had started in her leg, and so she wiggled her toes again to keep it from getting to stiff and sore on her.

“I will be there with you just in case he tries to do anything.” He smiled reassuringly hoping the chance of there being danger wasn’t going to scare her off any. “He is a bit complex. He seems to trust strangers better then his own comrades. Why? I do not know. Possibly because of his past and people having betrayed him before.”

He shrugged and slowly stood from his chair seeing her look at her watch. “How about I get you in the morning? When ever we wake up?” He wanted to catch the brat off guard and waking him up would do that effect. Plus he highly doubted he’d be getting any real sleep himself yet again. It was hard to in a new place full of strangers when one was trained for the unexpected. If things continued this way, he might have to resort to medicine to get anything deeper then an un-restful nap. Figuring it would just be easier to go with her schedule, he’d just stop by and see if she was awake yet or not and go from there. “That alright with you?”

Dr. Grimm smiled back over at him, "Alright then." She canted her head softly as he talked about his former student. "Well that would be understandable." She knew all too well what it was like to be betrayed by those you trusted. They'd done it to her on Olduvai.

She smiled at him and nodded as she shifted and put her foot back down on the floor. "Yeah, that's fine. I'm normally up pretty early, so anytime after five is alright." She shifted, pushing herself up to her feet. Sliding the other chair back in she moved around to push her chair back in. "That's fine. Like I said, I'll be happy to help in anyway that I can." She nodded, giving him a soft smile. "And I would love to stay here, and talk more but..." She waved her hand down to her leg, "It's starting to hurt again."

Rolling her eyes she gave a short laugh, "I'll see you in the morning, Kakashi." She inclined her head to him, giving him a small wave before she turned and started back up to her room.

Kakashi watched her leave, staying where he was as he went over all they had discussed. He was going to have to bug her some time in the future to see what she found on both the gates and her own research with this infection. Or maybe he just wanted an excuse to get to know her better? Either way he was glad she had agreed to look over Sasuke. Now he could only hope the Uchiha would cooperate. He sighed and stood up himself, starting the way up to his room forgetting he was ever hungry. Sleep. Sleep would be a good thing to have right now, even if it would be only a nap.
