April 2nd; Arrival of Sasuke, Neji, and Takato
Who?: Sasuke, Neji, Ash, Legolas, Kakashi, and Takato
What?: Sasuke, Neji, Takato's arrival.
When?: April 2, Year Unknown, Midday
Where?: The Foyer
Rating?: PG-13
Status?: Complete.

Am I dead?

It was the first conscious thought Sasuke had as his mind slowly came to consciousness. The thought, like a ping-pong ball, bounced around in his mind as he considered this thought. He didn’t know what death felt like, but the fact that there were aches and pains traveling up his body seemed out of place. Along with the wetness that he could feel clinging to his body like static. But who knew? Maybe this was death. Everything seemed so out of place that perhaps, that was exactly was death was…

His heavy leaden body shifted slightly as he worked on opening his eyes – his heavy not cooperating lids that refused to move – and the stone ledge that had been holding up his upper body disappeared beneath him and, suddenly, he found his head submerged in water.

Immediately, as water attempted to force its way into his lungs, years of shinobi training jumped into action even as his aching muscles protested. He kept down a cry of as pain as he jumped to his feet, red bleeding into black in an instant even as his strained chakra reserves cried out in protest. His hand found the hilt of his katana, still strapped faithfully at his side, as his body automatically formed into a defensive position.

His eyes swept over the scene before him quickly, memorizing every detail.

He was standing in a fountain staring up at a mansion, unlike any he had ever seen before. At the moment, he appeared to be alone, but he could sense the movement of people within those walls, and it put him further on guard. This was far, far away from where he had been two seconds ago…

But he wasn’t dead. That was something.

“Where the hell am I?” he hissed quietly to himself, eyes narrowing in suspicion.

Nothing could be trusted.

Neji dashed up the steps to the doorway but did not open it. This might be Uchiha Sasuke, and it might also be a clone or henge of some sort... both possibilities meant that this situation had just become more dangerous. Even if this was the real Sasuke, he was a rouge ninja... he would probably assume that any Konoha nin was out to capture him, and attack them. If it wasn't... well the foyer was completely empty apart from the figure lying in the water, and this meant there was no point in being stealthy.

And so Neji gathered his chakra within his right hand, releasing it all at once as he struck the door. It swung into the inside wall with a loud THUNK that echoed around the foyer. Neji rushed inside, prepared to defend or attack as necessary.

"Uchiha Sasuke?"

Ash had peacefully been sitting up in his room, strumming away on his electric guitar. A pair of leather pants was all the god was wearing. There wasn't any dire need for him to dress just yet. He played a little Godsmack, moving into 'Sweet Home Alabama'. Oh he missed the Sanctuary, he missed the bears, and all of the Were-Hunters that'd hung out there. He wondered for a moment how everyone was faring without him, and he let out a sigh.

It was about this time he felt a power surge in the air. Blonde brows drew together, he only had a moment to collect his thoughts before he heard the thunk of a door hitting the wall. "Shit." He breathed out, teleporting himself to the base of the stairs.

At least he wasn't half naked anymore. Over the low slung leather pants he wore a black fitted t-shirt, typical biker boots, and his infamous black trench-coat. Swirling silver eyes studied both of the young men, and he leaned a little to look over at the door. Not that it took much leaning, Ash was nearly seven foot tall in his boots.

Sliding his gaze back over to the two, he smiled over at the one with his hand on the hilt of his katana. "You are in a mansion." He looked over at the other one, narrowing his eyes slightly as he’d never seen anything like the boys eyes and face before. "And yes, that is Uchiha Sasuke." He shifted slightly on his feet, crossing his arms over his broad chest and watched them carefully.

"So, anymore questions? Concerns? Don't try to fight because it's seriously not going to work, and you two interrupted my guitar lesson. I'm just slightly miffed about that." He looked back over to the doorway of the mansion, smirking as the door had already repaired itself.

He knew that Legolas and Kakashi were on their way, and his smirk only grew until he showed a small flash of fangs. "I think you'll find someone you know already here."

Legolas had gotten back from doing another turn around all of the mansion he could explore. The place was huge and getting bigger. He lay the map on his bed, watching the mansion change on paper as he could feel it in his body as it did so. Just small changes, room gathering items of the people about to arrive, changing a little here and there within the rooms. There were also plants growing in the greenhouse, as Acheron had called it.

Smiling he folded the map, feeling the doors stir. There was a change in the air and Legolas' smile turned into a frown. "This shall not be good on my demeanor." He sighed lightly, tucking the map into his belt as he gathered up his weapons. Leaving his bow in his hands he took an arrow out, holding them loosely. He was still deadly with the weapons held in such a way.

Striding out of his room he held his head high as he leapt up onto the banister. Sliding down he arrived on the other side of the two new arrivals, nodding his head at the god-like creature. He still was not too sure about Acheron, but his heart told him that the being was good. His eyes slid over the two. Uchiha Sasuke as the others called him, "So much hate in one so young." Legolas knew his face showed the pain on the anger he could feel, "Indecision, he no longer knows his clear path."

His eyes then slid over to Neji, this one was not as bad. Still so young to be holding so much. "If you try to kill each other, there will be repercussions for such actions. Believe me, you shall not like them." Legolas did not know the powers these two held, some kind of natural force that he knew himself. Elves used it for healing, help, bringing light, surely these two could learn those ways and lead more peaceful lives.

At Acheron's words Legolas looked at him, and smiled, "Ah, yes, you will." He gave a welcoming smile to the other two, "Come, relax some, Uchiha Sasuke, you are rather tired, allow yourself to heal." He slowly put the arrow back, putting his bow over his shoulder, resting his hands at his sides. Surely they would not attack each other. Even if they did, Legolas trusted Acheron's judgment on what to do.

Kakashi jumped at the sound of something banging outside his door. Blinking a moment it took him a while to remember he wasn’t at home but in the accursed mansion holding him prisoner. Sighing, he sat up and instinctively grabbed his mask from a pile of clothes on the floor, shoving it on before doing anything else. Glancing out the window he found it was now sometime in the afternoon. Had he really kept falling back asleep all morning? Why was it the one thing that didn’t come with his room was the alarm clock?

Slipping from under the covers, he still had on his pants and sleeveless shirt from the night before. Quickly he grabbed the roll of gauze and wrapped up his eye and upper arm again doing his best civilian impression. Deciding to leave his shoes as it was probably just another guest arriving, he exited his room, reactivating the seal on the outside and lazily walking down the steps. It was then that he noticed who it was down by the fountain and in it. Reaching for the weapons he had left in his room, Kakashi cursed his carelessness. Ninjutsu it was.

Forming quick seals he teleported right behind Sasuke. “Of all people to see arriving here, you were one of the last I expected, Sasuke-kun.” He held his hand over Sasuke’s own on the sword to prevent him from using it, speaking soft yet cold for someone he had known. Glancing at the others he could tell that Ash and Legolas were ready for anything to happen. He was a little suppressed to see one of Gai-sensei students there as well. “Hyuuga-san” He nodded in greeting keeping his full attention on his x-student. “I would highly suggest you let go of your weapon. You are outnumbered…and out of chakra.” Kakashi could not sense the normally high chakra Sasuke had always been broadcasting, unless he had learned how to hide it better then the sannin, which he doubted.

“LIGHTNING JOUST!!!”

As the mighty Gallantmon plunged downward towards his foe with his energy charged lance, MetalEtemon, another Mega Level, he found his surroundings begin to change. He kept plunging down long after he should have hit the ground, and the buildings and roadway shifted around before becoming pitch black. Suddenly, in a great flash of light, he found himself far above the ground. Below him was an enormous mansion. Takato Matsuki, the 17 year old boy inside Gallantmon’s core, would have been amazed by the sight of it if it were not for one problem…

He was still plummeting downwards.

“Takatomon!” sounded a voice in his head.

“I know Guilmon!” said the boy. “Argh, we’re gonna hit that mansion! Hold on boy!”

“LOOK OUT BELOW!!!!” called the knight in the voices of Takato and his Digimon Partner Guilmon as they slammed directly into the roof, crashing through and colliding with a grand fountain discharging all the energy of the “Lightning Joust” attack and causing an enormous explosion. After the blast, Gallantmon slowly got to his feet and out of the water…

“Wait a second….water?”

Gallantmon looked down at his feet, and was shocked. Despite having been hit with his Lightning Joust, the fountain he had landed on was completely undamaged, and not a drop of water had been displaced. The knight walked out of the fountain and shone a bright red as he shrunk into two separate figures: A 17 year old boy a known as Takato Matsuki and his partner, the red dinosaur known as Guilmon.

“Takatomon…” said the dinosaur, “where are we?”

“I…I don’t know Guilmon…” said Takato nervously. “I don’t know….”

“Look Takatomon, we hit this water thingy and it didn’t even get scratched! It must be even harder than my head!” said Guilmon.

“Doubt it, boy,” said Takato with a small grin. “But…Guilmon, did we get MetalEtemon? Do you remember?”

“Nope, we missed him,” said Guilmon. “But I don’t see him anywhere….I see other people though!”

“Huh?” Takato paused and looked around at everyone in the room. “Um….hi there.”

Things were getting a little ridiculous. Scratch that, they were getting beyond ridiculous. And it all started with the entrance of that Hyuuga...

Sasuke whipped around to face the white-eyed shinobi, water splashing around his ankles as he did so, his grip on his katana tightening as he got ready to defend himself against the slightly older boy. The glaring contest between the two geniuses did not last long before they were interrupted by some man who obviously thought highly of hismelf, but the way he had teleported in... Sasuke had never seen anything like it. Not to mention how the man knew his name before he had even considered answering the Hyuuga - which he wouldn't have; he wasn't dumb enough to just hand himself over like that. It was unnerving; Sasuke did not like it.

The third entrance was by a man whose appearance went almost unnoticed by Sasuke's senses, and he probably would not have picked him up had he not been waiting for him and on guard as he was at the moment. This man - if he was even man; Sasuke suspected that there was something else to him, something deadly - was armed with a bow and arrows, and despite the fact that they were held loosely, the Uchiha tightened his grip on his own katana as his left hand twitched, ready to reach for a kunai or shuriken at a moment's notice. Sasuke's Sharingan ready eyes narrowed at the blonde's warning before settling for a full-on glare meant for all three occupants in the room. Again, this man had read his fatigue that he was ignoring and keeping buried beneath his need for security as easily as the other man had known his name.

Who were these people?

He must have dwelled on that thought too deeply for too long, for he only got a moment’s warning as the familiar chakra lapped at his senses before his former sensei was upon him, hand covering his own that was holding so tightly to his weapon. A growl rose up in his throat, warning Kakashi away – he didn’t like people, and there were far too many people around him for his liking, far too many people that he did not know, and far too many who he did and did not trust. Had probably trusted once but not anymore.

Out of chakra or not, he was not to just give up. He had no doubt that his old sensei was somehow behind all this. He wondered briefly if he was in Konoha – he had not been in his birth home for years; he would not have been surprised to see some changes around the village. But something was… off about the local, and there was a heavy sent of salt water in the air. Then where?

Where the fuck have you taken me, Kakashi? he thought but did not speak, his eyes sweeping over the area to find a quick exit.

Then Sasuke’s head snapped up as he sensed the coming of a large falling object. The ceiling crashed and collapsed, chunks of stone falling from high above, as instincts took over and he leapt out of the way, Kakashi still holding onto him all the while as he leapt with him. Using the weakness of air to his advantage, Sasuke took the moment to twist away from his former sensei and land a good distance away in a skidding crouch.

His red eyes swept over the people – only taking a second to take in the boy and the red creature that had appeared from the falling mass (not a threat) – as his Sharingan spun rapidly in defense. He could feel his chakra reserves crying out in protest as he pulled from places that no longer existed or were already dry, but he forced his body to cooperate. There was a concrete wall behind him, blocking any hope of escape that way, but from where he now stood, he could easily see all five of the people. He’d already fallen for the teleport behind and grab trick – he wasn’t going to fall for it again.

Sasuke pushed the burning of his muscles and limbs to the back recesses of his mind; that was a problem for another time. Right now, he needed to figure out where he was – “in a mansion” was not an adequate answer in his book – and how to get away from here. Far away from here.

Neji had deactivated his Byagukan upon Kakashi's arrival, and in hindsight this had been a bad idea. As it was, he had been mere seconds and centimeters from being crushed by what had been some sort of giant machine... and where it had been now stood a boy and what looked like a very large reptile.

What was more, he had seen other people during his cursory scan of the mansion when he arrived, but he had not seen this thing that had just crashed through the ceiling. Either it had been concealing itself somehow, or it had appeared after Kakashi's arrival... and given the way that Neji himself seemed to have inexplicably appeared on the front steps, the second possibility didn't seem quite as ridiculous as it otherwise might have.

But there still remained the fact that he didn't have the faintest clue how this had happened. Kakashi, on the other hand, seemed strangely calm given the circumstances, and the combination was beginning to irritate him.

"Hatake-san... what is going on here? Who are these people?"

Ash was so not amused by anything going on around him. In fact he looked much like a bored child as an eyebrow raised up at Legolas. "I don't think he should be allowed to heal...much anyway." He lifted a shoulder. Oh yes, there was hate, vengeance, and other things that were wrong with the boy. Ash understood all of the feelings that Sasuke had running through him at this given point and time. He himself had experienced them all, and many times throughout the ages. He'd never wanted power though, not like the boy in front of him. But the boy was also about to collapse. That was a good thing for he was strong, very strong at that. The other, Hyuuga Neji was strong as well but he held no evil intent towards either of them. Even the glare from the red-eyed youth didn't phase Ash one bit. Hell, if he could deal with Artemis, he could deal with a child that was misunderstood and broken inside.

Simi shifted on his skin as the dragon tattoo that very few seldom seen. He hadn't seen fit to release her off of him just yet. Things were still unstable, and he really didn't want her out in this crossfire. Something else was coming, it was quickly approaching, and it was big. The tingle of electricity could be felt in the air, and Ash glanced upward. "Incoming..." He murmured, throwing up a shield around the other five to protect them from any falling debris. He really didn't want to have death on his conscience here.

Once the 'dust' had settled and the mansion righted itself once again Ash pulled the shield down, and let out a long breath. He inclined his head to Takato and his dinosaur companion. "Hello to you as well." He smiled slightly, sliding his gaze back over to the dark haired youths.

"Relax you. You can't do any harm to anyone in the mansion, especially you Sasuke." He pointed a finger at the youngest one in the room. "We won't allow it, and your body is far too weak to try anything right now." He gave him a pointed look and then walked to the desk sitting in the corner. He eyed the keys for a moment, and then looked back out at the rest of them. "I am Acheron Parthenopaeus." He inclined his head to Neji, placing the palms of his hands on the desk after he'd pulled out three maps. "There's no going home, no escape unless you die or barter your very soul to get out of here." At least that's what he thought the gods who ran the place would ask for. And he really would know since he was a god. "So, pick up your keys from the desk, and a map and enjoy your stay. Once again I inquire, questions? Comments? Concerns?" He raised a brow, swirling silver eyes looking over all four of the new arrivals.

As Kakashi greeted the two with what seemed like endearments along with their names, Legolas felt a little better. Surely with someone that they knew around they would not be so on edge. He tilted his head at Kakashi's entrance, it was impressive. Perhaps he had misjudged the power of appearing directly behind one's target. Legolas could see now how helpful that could be in a time of need.

The tension was mildly broken as the...armored Balrog? His bow and arrow was back in his hands in the blink of his eyes, aim was taken, the arrow loosed upon the new beast. Only his arrow was deflected by...Acheron's shield? His eyes cast themselves to his lonely arrow that had skittered across the floor behind Acheron. Then his eyes moved to rest on Acheron himself, narrowing a bit.

Only when the boy and beast separated, becoming two quite peaceful individuals, did Legolas regret his shot and become thankful of the magic Acheron had dealt in the air. Smiling he inclined his head, "Hello, and welcome. Forgive me for my rash actions." He motioned to his bow, "You had a harmful intent as you landed, I now see it was not for us."

He knew then that the boy with the evil intent was still quite wary of the situation. Perhaps he would never relax. Heaving a small sigh he turned his gaze to the boy and shook his head sadly. If he were back on his world, he would take the boy to Elrond. Rivendale had such a calming effect, healing, soothing of the hurts and aches of desires and needs uncared for.

"This boy will heal eventually, Acheron Parthenopaeus." Legolas answered slowly after the man's speech. His eyes never left Sasuke, until he took it upon himself to glance at Kakashi. "Since he introduced himself, I suppose I should as well. I am Legolas Thranduilion. You are Uchiha Sasuke, and shall we have your name as well?" His gaze rested upon the other human boy that knew Kakashi for a moment. He then turned his gaze on the beast and the other boy, a smile forming as these two seemed much more at peace than the others. "And yours? What manner of beast is this, I have never seen the like."

Of course all the younger ones knew battle. It pained Legolas to know such, but he could not help this fact. He was not of their world, he did not know their strife. As they did not know his, nor his happiness. Again he put his bow upon his shoulder. "If any of you three would like guides to the layout of this place, I would be happy to offer my services."

There were a lot of things Kakashi wanted to say to the two younger ninja, having the urge to chew them out right there for acting so carelessly. Not only had they blown their own cover, but forced him from his own. He would have to wait till they were away from the others and plan his words carefully when dealing with Neji. At least Ash and Legolas seemed to be more relaxed about the whole situation. Maybe they had already known, some how, with their abilities to sense things at such a strong range.

Having landed on his bare feet, he could feel some of the debris digging into his heals as he skidded to a stop. Yet when he looked up everything was already repaired and rubble missing. He glanced at the young boy and the odd lizard next to him. They were strong and battle hardened, yet innocent looking. This was someone he felt he could get to know and get along with.

Focusing back on Sasuke again he noticed the sharingan active and quickly looked at his nose instead. “You are not going to win here, Sasuke-kun. Drop it. You have no chakra left.” He snapped out in the military tone he saved for serious occasions as such. If he had to beat it into the brat, he would go all out. Least it would prepare the Uchiha from the beating he was going to get from Naruto and Sakura.

Listening to Ash’s speech he quickly made plans to get that key from him. The other two may want to treat him as a friend, but there was no point in that. He could not be trusted. Kakashi dropped his guarded stance and looked down on Sasuke, irritation still showing in his visible eye. “I will guide him. We still have much to catch up on. Right?” He directed the question to Sasuke himself.

Takato had seen a lot of strange things in his life. In fact, “strange” didn’t even scratch the surface of all the things he had seen since the day Guilmon came to life. But this…this was just…

It was just weird.

First off, the man who had responded to his greeting (confused as it was) was downright scary. Now, for Takato, there’s being scared of something, and then there’s being scared of something. Scared is when he shows up late to Ms. Asagi’s class without his homework… again. Scared is when he finds himself faced with an army of enemy Mega levels deadest on tearing him, his family, his friends, and his home to tiny bits. And this guy was scary.

“Hi!” said Guilmon cheerfully, waving a claw at the man.

Takato nearly fell over at his partner’s antics. This was confusing the hell out of him. Normally, Guilmon would go feral at such a threat, but instead, he was staying perfectly normal. Well, as normal as Guilmon ever got.

“Well, if Guilmon doesn’t see him as too much of a threat…I guess he seems nice enough, even if he looks like he’d give Gallantmon a run for his money,” thought Takato.

Looking around, Takato slowly began to realize he had interrupted some serious stuff when he had crashed through the now somehow repaired ceiling. Almost everyone in the room was on edge. There was also something…different about each one. One of the room’s occupants completely white eyes, which kind of disturbed him, and another, with a katana, had red eyes like Takato’s own, but there was something…odd about them. The silver haired man near him had one eye covered, too. But before he could wonder just what the hell was up with everyone’s eyes, he saw an arrow on the ground near him. His gaze moved to a man with a bow, who quickly explained why it had been fired. Takato didn’t blame him, he would have shot at himself, too (though he wondered what effect an arrow could possibly have on Gallantmon’s pure Chrome Digizoid armor). After a pause, the archer identified himself as Legolas, and the scary guy identified himself as…Acheron?

“What weird names… where ARE we?” thought Takato worriedly.

“I’m a Guilmon! My name is Guilmon! I like bread!” cheered Guilmon, introducing himself to Legolas. “Especially Guilmon Bread! It’s a loaf of bread that’s shaped like my head! Right, Takatomon?”

“Uh…yeah boy,” said Takato, not quite as cheerfully. Unlike his partner, he had picked up Acheron’s words about the boy known as Sasuke, and also heard the small bit about not being able to leave without dying. He immediately began worrying about what his friends, one in particular, would think of his disappearance, but pushed that aside momentarily to introduce himself and find out more about the situation before panicking. He figured that’s what Henry would do. He looked to Legolas, who seemed to be the most friendly of the group.

“Um…I’m Takato. Takato Matsuki. Guilmon already introduced himself,” said the gogglehead. Deciding he’d end up wetting himself if Acheron was his guide to…whereever he was, he quickly added, “Um, sure, I’d love a guide. Where are we, anyway? This doesn’t seem like the Digital World.”

The Hyuuga was actually pretty bright. Not that Sasuke had not already known that. He had heard enough stories from the resident Hyuuga Prodigy while he had been in Konoha to get word of his intelligence. He had never just seen it first hand. But the Hyuuga’s analytical mind seemed to come to the same conclusion that Sasuke’s did at the exact same moment.

Kakashi knew more than what he was letting on.

A great deal more, Sasuke could tell, but it was not as though he could call him out on it. To be quite honest, from the mansion to the falling hunk of armor to the appearance of not only the Hyuuga but Kakashi as well, Sasuke was still in a bit of shock. His mind was having a harder time than normal catching up with everything as it was still lost to his last memory before he had ended up here. The memory that had left him on edge, in a battle-ready stance, with his adrenaline pumping at a moment’s notice.

It was this slowness that took the Uchiha a moment to register what his eyes were seeing. Other than the Hyuuga, Kakashi, and himself nobody else in the room were shinobi. Everything about them gave it away including their stance and body energies that Sasuke felt idiotic for not noticing it before – it was obvious. Despite that fact, though, the Sharingan wielder knew that did not mean that they weren’t powerful.

There was something… off about the air around the tall one (Acheron?), something almost feral, something that almost reminded Sasuke of Naruto in a very distinct power sort of way. And upon hearing his explanation of the mansion, his suspicion of this character continued to rise.

Suspicion did not override his logic, though. He watched closely – unblinkingly closely – as Kakashi threw an offhand comment, very short, toward the other two men who he apparently knew. It was said so casually, that if he had not been looking for it, he probably would have missed it, but he had been in that situation plenty of times to know what that meant. Kakashi obviously trusted these two men, but it was obviously only a trust out of necessity and without choice. It was perfectly similar to how Sasuke had viewed his camaraderie with Orochimaru’s other followers – he only put up with “trusting” them because he had no choice.

And then there had been Snake, and that team had worked no different.

Finally, as his chakra reserves began to burn beneath his skin like fire, he released the tension in his eyes and blinked away the red of the Sharingan, allowing his muscles to relax only a fraction – he was still on edge, ready to defend at the slightly provocation. He was not stupid enough to leap into a fight where not only was he outnumbered – he had done that plenty of times before – but also where he did not know the slightest bit of potential that these strange characters had.

And – Sasuke gritted his teeth in annoyance – as much as he hated to admit it, Kakashi was right. He was out of chakra and at a severe disadvantage. He took a moment to seethe silently – his outward expression remaining blank and uncaring – before finally turning toward his former sensei with a slow burning look.

“Right,” he answered in a strange flat monotone that did not seem to fit his outwardly aggressive actions before. “Much to catch up on.”

He did not trust Kakashi, and he knew, without any evidence to back it up, that Kakashi did not trust him. And that suited him just fine.

The ceiling was whole again, and indeed looked as if it had never been damaged... Neji gave it a covert but thorough examination with his Byakugan, and there was not a single sign of the gaping hole that had been there mere moments earlier, not even the faint residual signature that it would have given off had it been repaired with chakra. Who did this... and how? He took a careful look at the others in the room.

The boy, Takato, was human. His chakra energy was weak and untrained, but it looked the same as that of any civilian in Konoha. The red "Guilmon" creature was clearly not an animal, and in its present form didn't seem powerful enough to do anything like repair the ceiling... but it seemed from he and Takato's dramatic entrance that they were capable of taking on other forms, and without the use of chakra.

Legolas and Acheron were not human... their energy signatures were not chakra, and Neji had no way of knowing how useful his Byakugan would be in observing it. He wondered briefly whether Sasuke or Kakashi had picked up on this as well, and whether the Sharingan would be able to perceive things about this strange energy that his Byakugan had missed.

He took one of the three maps, folding it carefully. "Thank you... Acheron? Is that how you are called?" He knew that not all places had the same naming customs as the Fire Country, where a person's family name was given first. He didn't trust this Acheron Parthenopaeus, and the lazy self-assurance that he projected was rubbing Neji the wrong way... but that was no cause for rudeness.

Ash watched everything, very carefully. A tingling sensation worked its way up his spine, much like when a Damion was around. It was fine with him that he might not have to guide anyone, unless Neji wanted him to be his guide. His head tilted to the side and he raised a brow at Legolas, "Well yeah he will." All things and beings healed with time. He still didn't want the boy well just yet. He felt the ninja would cause harm to others who were less powerful in the mansion. Like the Nightstalker, the doctor, the vampire, and possibly the high summoner. He would not have people die under his watch, and he knew that Legolas and Kakashi shared his sentiments.

Ash gave a quick smile to Guilmon, "Hello, Guilmon." He inclined his head to the dinosaur and chuckled at Takato's thoughts about him. Oh he was glad he came off as scary. It was something he did best. Typically people avoided Ash at all costs, which suited the god just fine. When people got too close to him, bad things tended to happen to them. He couldn't bare the thought of losing someone else that was close to him. The loss of Nick and Cherise still burned him deep down in his heart. He wondered if anyone would take flowers to Cherise's grave. That thought shot a pain through him, and quickly he banished it from his mind, his facial expression never changing even though he was hurting.

"Right, remember your own rule, Kakashi." Ash gave another pointed look to the nin. "No killing in the mansion." He then gave a wry smirk, standing back up to his full height and folded his arms over his chest. He inclined his head to Neji, "Yes, you may call me that, or Ash. Whichever suits your fancy." He shrugged a broad shoulder, before he picked up Sasuke's key and tossed it towards Kakashi. "There you go." He knew all too well about not trusting people, he too didn't trust too many himself either.

"Neji, if you would like a guide I will offer my services. Unless you'd like to go with Kakashi and Sasuke." Either way it didn't matter to Ash. He wasn't going to push it either way. He knew that Neji didn't trust him, and that suited him just fine. The less people that trusted him here, the better off he would be. When he could leave this place he wouldn't feel so bad about leaving it in the care of the other two males. Because eventually he would have to leave. He couldn't bare the thought of hurting people just because he didn't have Artie's blood.

The innocence that came from two of the group soothed Legolas' damaged system. With so much hate and hurt flying about him he might as well go back to his world and raise the orcs again. Then again, he would never have the heart to do such a thing to those he loved dearly. Smiling at the two as they officially introduced themselves and asked questions, Legolas moved nearer to them. "You are in a mansion, where we have not been able to know yet. I am sorry, but that is all I can give you as to where you are. We here are all from different places, except for the three obviously." He motioned to the three nin.

Speaking of the three nin, the young ones ignored him. If he was in normal times he would quietly chastise them for ignoring him. Legolas Thranduilion wasn't one to be taken lightly and he abhorred rudeness of any sort. A flash of anger burned it's way through his eyes and heart, quickly stifled and thrown away.

He still had a lot of healing to do for himself. After all, the war was not that long ago. He tilted his head to Kakashi and Acheron, "We will take our leave." The knowledge the other two had on him was limited, the expression that he had on his face was hopeful. Hopeful that they would be able to put a damper on this kind of situation in his absence. Suddenly he felt regret for taking the easy way out, perhaps Kakashi would need a break from these two?

Legolas could not handle them at the moment. He needed another day to heal, at least. Another day to concentrate upon himself. Yes, that was all he needed. Then he could and would take on the darkness again, however it may come next.

Seeing the tension relax around Sasuke’s eyes, Kakashi looked back up into them. So his guess had been right. He was out of chakra. Relaxing some himself he slowly moved a little closer. So far a fight had been averted, but there was still a chance for one to break out. “Training hard?” He wasn’t sure what Sasuke had been through since the last time he had seen him. In actuality, he really didn’t care either. They hadn’t gone off on good terms the last time they had talked alone. No. If he remembered correctly, the brat had threatened to kill every precious person of his. Ah, that’s right. He had him tied to a tree and was chewing him out for using the chidori during a rivalry squabble. Those were the good old days. Now the brat had grown and come back.

Catching the key thrown to him with ease, He brought out the small chain he had attached his own key too and added Sasuke’s with it before returning them to his pocket. “I do not forget my own rules, Ashu-san.” He knew very well when it was time to kill and when not too. He also knew what would happen if he did try to kill Sasuke. He would most likely find himself well under ten feet of soil if he wasn’t careful in the revealing of the news of death to the rest of the team.

No longer feeling a threat from the boy, he turned to focus his attentions on Neji. He stayed on guard though, wanting to test Sasuke and see if he tried to take the opening or not. “Good afternoon, Hyuuga-san.” He greeted with a slight nod. Even though he was only part of the branch family, all Hyuuga had the right to the claim of respect, their family being one of the oldest. “I hope that it is only you here, and not your….expressive teacher.” He didn’t mind Gai all that much, but there were times that his excited yelling did hurt his ears. “If you wish, I will guide you around. But I feel our ‘friend’ here needs some rest.” He shoved his hands deep into his pockets, taking up his famous lazy stand and nodded his head towards Sasuke while talking.

“A mansion, huh?” said Takato. “Yeah, we saw it before we, um… broke the ceiling.”

At this, he looked up at said ceiling, once again wondering how it repaired itself. The thought of being in the Digital World crossed his mind not for the first time. After all, Digimon weren’t the only inhabitants, and Shibumi had lived there quite a while.

“But if that were the case, Yamaki would have tried to contact me by now…” thought Takato.

Following Legolas’s words about everyone’s origins, Takato began to notice how different everyone here really was. Acheron was quite different from Legolas, who was different from Takato himself, who was different from the three tense ninja. He also noticed that the one with the katana, Sasuke, appeared to be the cause of all the tension.

“Strange,” thought Takato, “he looks exhausted, but they’re acting like he’s the threat. Maybe I’ll try to talk to him later…”

“So…” he said, looking to Legolas, “let the tour begin then?”

It was not until Acheron’s comment to Kakashi about killing did Sasuke realize how much killing intent they had been leaking into the air. He frowned very slightly, annoyed with himself at how slowly things were starting to come together in his head, no matter if he did have an excuse. It was a weak one, and he should have been more aware.

But the amount of intent between the two of them was enough to make a Genin cower. The boy and – what was that thing anyway? – the creature seemed unaffected by it, however, though they seemed to be the only ones. The blonde-haired man seemed to grow ill with the passing time, and he knew the Hyuuga was not blind to the hate seeping into the tainted air.

A sudden unearthly chill ran up Sasuke’s spine, though he bit it down hard. He couldn’t tell if it was from his body’s exhaustion or from his chakra coils depletion or… from the question Kakashi had just asked. He formed his dark eyes into a narrow unimpressed glare at his former sensei’s attempt at either ‘civil’ conversation or to goad him.

“Hard enough,” he settled with in reply. Just hard enough to be able to witness his death. Just hard enough not to die by his hands. Just hard enough to force him to his end. Maybe it hadn’t been hard enough at all.

His teeth gritted together in annoyance at the path his thoughts were taking, and his annoyance only grew as he watched Kakashi catch and attach to his key ring what he assumed was his own key. He made no grab for it, however, knowing that it would be useless. Even as the older shinobi turned his back on him to face the Hyuuga, he did not move. He was not dumb enough to think that his former sensei had dropped his guard that easily.

Instead, he took the moment of slight peace – he was tired of being scrutinized by the one-eyed Jounin – to examine his surroundings from where he was standing with a much calmer eye. He noticed as the blonde-haired man, the boy, and the creature exited the room, and he could sense Acheron’s imminent departure. That would leave him alone with the two Konoha shinobi. Great.

The ceiling held no damage whatsoever, Sasuke realized as his eyes slid across the room. His gaze only lingered there for a moment before traveling elsewhere; he wasn’t going to dwell on something such as a ceiling. His own body felt heavy… and wet. The fountain water had mostly gathered in a puddle at the bottom of his feet by now, but his clothes still clung to him uncomfortably. The dirt and grime (and blood) that had covered his skin before was now streaked down his body, dried in strange droplet designs.

Kakashi’s comment toward the Hyuuga caught his attention once more, and he snapped his face around to glare at the back of his head. “I’m fine,” he growled out.

But even as he said that, a burning sensation traveled up his muscles causing the Uchiha to grit his teeth in pain. His eyes slid shut for a second as he willed the pain away, but instead of disappearing, it settled on his chest uncomfortably. He opened his eyes, staring at the other two shinobi defiantly even as he felt his body attempt to shut down once more. He took a breath in, hoping to relieve some of the pressure, and stood his ground. He wasn’t going to black out here, not now, not in front of them.

He's an idiot, is what he is, Neji thought, hearing the Uchiha's words. His brief glances had shown him that Sasuke was in bad shape, but upon looking closer he saw that his chakra reserves were appallingly low... his condition was nearly as bad as Lee's had been after fighting in the chuunin exams. He was called a genius even at the Ninja Academy. And he's been training under one of the Legendary Sannin for the past three years, so he's surely as strong as any jounin, if not as skilled... who the hell was he fighting?

"Hatake-san, with all due respect... Sasuke needs medical attention immidiately." They could save the pleasantries for later. Neji didn't know Sasuke and had no particular attachment to him, and in fact he despised the younger man's act of betraying the village and joining Orochimaru, regardless of his reasons for doing so. But he knew that Naruto and Sakura hadn't given up on their former teammate's ability to repent and return home... and Neji knew he would never be able to face them again if the Uchiha were to die here from his own negligence.

Kakashi sighed as he turned back to face the Uchiha, for once feeling older then he would like to be. “You will be going to your room to get rest.” He rubbed the back of his neck still tense and irritated about the whole situation. “If Sakura ever heard I let you die of exhaustion, she would send me to hell just to bring you back.” Well, maybe she wouldn’t go that far, but he was sure she would land him in the hospital for a couple of weeks and then torture him there for months on end. The scary part was Tsunade would most likely even let her practice her newly learned on him as the guinea pig. And Naruto? He shook his head not even wanting to think about it.

“You will not be able to get out of here, Sasuke. So you might as well rest and explore later.” Turning around, Kakashi found that it was now just the three of them. He had seen Legolas leading the boy and his friend away but had never seen Ash leave. This bugged him just a little. Even with his senses on alert the odd man was able to move silently enough for him not to notice. He couldn’t tell if he liked being alone with the two boys or not. It probably would have been a whole lot better with someone other then the Uchiha glaring at him, but he would just have to deal.

Listening to Neji’s statement he had to agree, but where were they going to find a doctor who knows chakra related issues? “I am afraid there are no doctors here as far as we know. No doctors of the medical kind at least. The best we can do is make sure he gets his rest to let his body heal on its own.”

He made his way over to the lone desk and grabbed up two maps from the draw and the last key still resting on the top. “This mansion keeps changing. Everyday there may be something new or just moved around. Do not think of it lightly.” He explained as he made his way back over to the boys, pausing next to Neji to hand him his own key and map. “The key has your name on it while the map will have your name and all the names of current residents. They will show you what rooms each one of them is assigned to.”

Walking over to Sasuke, he held out the other map to him. “Check it to see which rooms you are in. I would suggest dropping off your gear and not looking so military.” He crossed is arms and glared at both of them this time. “Oh. And congratulations on already blowing your covers to some of the residents. I do not want it happening again. Everyone here is a civilian or a potential danger. We do not need them knowing our abilities.” There wasn’t much that could be done for what was already exposed. He trusted Ash and Legolas would keep what they saw to themselves, being the quiet and observe type to begin with, but if any others had been watching the event, well they would just have to stay on guard at all times now.

“For your rooms you are in charge of your own security. Sasuke, I will take care of yours seeing you are not fit to do so your self. Food is made ready in the kitchen. Trust it at your own discretion. No, there is no way out of this place. I have explored the woods and the ground. We are on some remote island with no practical transportation over seas. People are drawn here at random times. Only the mansion seems to know when and who they will be.”

He paused a moment thinking if there was anything else that was rather important for him to mention right then. Really he didn’t want to spend his time guiding. He had hoped that Ash would have taken the Hyuuga around at least, but it wasn’t like he couldn’t read a map. “Any questions?”

An annoyed sigh fell past the Uchiha’s lips… and seemed to take all of the annoyance with it. It seemed rather childish to get riled up over something so pointless, and besides that, his limbs felt heavy and they ached with each movement. Even as the Hyuuga spoke, he only allowed himself to throw an irritated glance in the slightly older boy’s direction. He did not like it when people meddled in his affairs, and there he was, bothering with business that did not concern him.

He let his head loll back to stare up at the ceiling once more as Kakashi spoke. His hand had long since fallen from the hilt of katana, hanging limply at his side, and his black obsidian eyes stared almost through the ceiling unseeing. He was stuck, imprisoned, walled-in. He had been removed from one prison and put into another. How fitting it all seemed. The mention of his old female teammate only pulled an uninterested blink from him in recognition at the name.

At some point, Ash disappeared out of the room – a fact that almost escaped the Uchiha’s noticed and probably would have through his haze-filled mind had he not been expecting it to happen. He knew he should worry about his wavering awareness of the world around him, but he kept his eyes skyward, sketching out the detail of the architecture of the stone-work with his gaze.

Just my luck, Sasuke thought, allowing his eyelids to fall shut. No doctor. Maybe I’ll die in my sleep. His fists clenched at the thought. He couldn’t die yet. There was still Uchiha Madara somewhere out there – but that somewhere was not here, and he couldn’t leave here. Not according to Acheron. Not according to Kakashi. He was a prisoner, and Uchiha Madara was free out there somewhere…

Or maybe he was already dead and this was Hell.

The thought did not frighten him as much as it probably should have. The fog in his mind was growing, and he was only half aware of Kakashi approaching him with a piece of parchment. He lowered his gaze to stare at it in Kakashi’s hand, and raised his own hand, slowly to grab it from him. His movements were sluggish, unlike him at all, but he could not bring himself to care.

Well, fuck, was his last coherent thought as everything faded into the black abyss of his mind.

Neji sprang forward the moment Sasuke began to lose his balance, throwing his arms around the Uchiha's shoulders before he could hit the floor. The younger man was heavier than he looked, his slight build belying the presence of wiry muscle beneath the skin... and the katana at his waist wasn't helping. Slowly Neji lowered him to the floor and began to examine him more closely. His organs were functioning, there were no signs of a concussion, and Neji could find no other injuries that would have caused him to lose consciousness.

"He's fine for now, just exhausted," Neji said, his tone clipped. "None of his injuries are life-threatening, but his inner coils system is essentially running on fumes. Hatake-san, if you have any soldier pills, that would help bring his chakra levels within a normal range." The increase would only be temporary, and certainly not a substitute for any treatment that the hospital in Konoha would have given, but it was the only useful thing Neji could think of. He was intimately familiar with the structures of the human body; he knew how to damage the vital organs in order to kill his opponent quickly, and where to strike if he wished to leave him alive for questioning. But that was where his knowledge ended; he did not know how to treat the damage once it had been done.

Kakashi noted the drop in consciousness from the Uchiha, tensing to reach out and grab him instinctively but stopped as he saw the Hyuuga move out of the corner of his eye. Continuing the movement of his hand, he shoved it in his pocket like that was what he was going to do all along and released his breath as a sigh of annoyance.

“I have something better to use. Or at least stronger” He didn’t expect the Hyuuga to know about the drug. Something that was kept under lock and key. Something he had for the long mission that he was originally on. A drug he had to buy expensive sake in exchange for. Now he figured he wasn’t going to get in a situation where he would need it. The chance of running across the Akatsuki was slim at best in this place. “Can you carry him to his room? It is on the second floor. Number 200.” Kakashi took a moment to study Sasuke. Having worked with him and knowing him for nearly a whole year, he knew something was wrong. It was rare for Sasuke to ever train to the point of being unable to function. He was more the type to stop when he still had enough power to be able to fight and get away if any enemy showed up at that point.

He had been in trouble, or at least in a harder situation then Sasuke had predicted it to be. But what? Orochimaru wasn’t on the move yet. He could only assume that it was some fight more centered around Sasuke alone. Reaching up, he quickly made the seals to port again. “I will meet you at his door. Right up the stairs.” He nodded to the stairways running up either side of the large fountain before disappearing with a swirl of smoke.
