April 15th, arrival of Minato
Who: Namikaze Minato and Open to a greeter
When: Night
Where: Fountain ice skating
What: Arrival
Rating: TBD
Status: Incomplete

Death's chuckle still rang in his ears as he walked. It was dark, he could barely see where he was going. Actually he couldn't see anything at all. All he knew was that there was firm ground beneath him. There was a light up ahead, like from a doorway. He headed toward it, any light was better than nothing.

Minato knew he was at a disadvantage. He was walking toward a light that could be any number of things. It could be a house of the enemy. Death would have a sense of humor like that, rather, lack thereof. Sighing Minato paused, studying the light. It didn't flicker, there were no shadows that passed over it, it was steady. He waited for a good thirty minutes it felt like. Now was the time.

If he was walking into a trap, so be it. Nothing could compare to the years he spent in Death's stomach battling the Yin part of Kyuubi.

Striding forward he held his head high. He walked to the light, as he got closer it got larger. Smirking he recognized the light from a doorway. He was going to be free. Still bearing himself like the Hokage of Konoha should, he walked through. Minato could feel the change. The power. This place was...icy.

Slipping he yelped, not prepared for the sheet of ice under his feet. Regaining thought he put chakra to his feet, holding on to the slippery surface with that. Snorting he looked down and shook his head. Blue eyes slowly took in his surroundings. Christmas?

His brows furrowing he shuddered. He hated the cold. Give him fire, give him unbearable heat, give him dehydration, give him rain, anything but cold. Growling a little to himself he walked to the fountain edge and stepped over. He had only ice skated for a good three feet, not too shabby for the unexpected.

The place was grand. There was no evident threat really, none that he could feel anyway. Rubbing his hands together, Minato called out, "Hello?!"

It was cold. Too cold. First hearts and now snow. This was ridiculous! Kakashi rubbed his exposed figures. Nothing of his was meant for the cold. Especially not the fingerless leather gloves he wore for fighting. The only thing keeping him any kind of warm was his uniform’s long sleeve shirt and flak jacket.

Kicking his sandaled foot against the door to knock the snow out of it, he slipped back inside the mansion’s front doors. Well that trip proved to be a useless day. The snow was everywhere. Even over the oceans a cool wind blew. Holding down the shivering, he pushed the door closed with a soft click. It wouldn’t do to disturb the others this late. Most were probably still up, but might as well keep it down for those few who might be trying to sleep away yet another crazy event.

Leaning over he shook a hand through his silver hair to knock all the snow from it. Now with the slight warmth inside, the snow left on him was melting and quickly soaking into his hair and clothes. He hoped he wasn’t going to get sick from this mess.

There was suddenly a call from near the fountain. Blinking his visible eye, Kakashi looked up to see who it was only to stop dead in his tracks. There was just no way! Even from afar, he could easily pick out the details on the coat. Only one person ever wore that. But he had died over 15 years ago. He would know. He was there when it happened.

Feeling it was probably just another trick from the mansion, he coughed lightly and slowly strolled over trying to think of the blonde man as some stranger. It would make things go easier. All he had to do was great, hand over supplies, offer help, then leave. Easy enough right? Making his way over to the fountain, he detoured by the desk long enough to grab the key and a map without even so much as glancing down at the new name rested on them.

“Welcome to the mansion. I am afraid there is not much that can be explained of the situation other then to tell you we have all been brought to this place by means out of our hands. There is no way back. Here is your key and a map of the house. First rule, no killing. If you need help ask for Ashu-san. Night.” With that he turned to leave. The guy looked like him too much. The headache he had a few days before was starting to come back. Hopefully sleep would take it away. Maybe he was being just a bit too rude though?

He paused after walking a few steps away and rubbed at the bridge of his nose. “Sorry. It has been a long….few weeks.” He was starting to loose track of the days again. “Do you have any questions?” Not daring to look back around, he micro focused on the last bit of snow stuck to his uniform’s many creases.

Minato had been years without practice, without any human interaction. He had been in a stomach. Shuddering at the thought he wondered if he would do the same thing he had done back then if he had known what he knew now. After a few seconds of pondering this, he would. He would do more if the need rose. Shifting his weight from foot to foot for a moment he wondered what he should do.

Someone was approaching, Minato stood ready. He stood so that if the person didn't want to deal with him, they didn't have to. Minato was good at following. He'd figure out who the person was, how dangerous they were, etc. The man talked though.

The man looked awfully familiar. Blue eyes narrowed slightly, watching the other walk toward him. The words the other said barely registered. Sakumo was dead. The hair was different than Sakumo's really. The hitai-ate was over the left eye, the mask was up hiding the pale face, the stance was somewhat the same. Proud yet...unassuming. Taking in a sharp breath he took the key and map, watching...his student. Thirteen years hadn't really been all that kind to Kakashi. Then again, he wasn't the one standing with a gaping hole in vest and shirt and a half-assed seal burning on his stomach after 13 years of death.

Minato fought for words. He could do this. "It's been longer than a few weeks, Kakashi-kun." He knew his voice sounded horrid, it had been more than a decade since he had used it on a regular basis. Other than screaming and cursing that is.

He knew what this would mean to Kakashi. After all here was his sensei, alive, after thirteen years. It had to be a blow. Hell, Minato wasn't over it yet. The map and key still went unstudied in his hands. Kakashi could've attached an explosive note to one and Minato wouldn't have noticed until it was far too late. "I know this is a shock. I'm still not sure what to think of it." He shifted again, finally looking down at the map as words still eluded him. Then words hit him.

They couldn't leave? He had traded a prison for a prison? No wonder Death had seemed so highly amused. He shook his head and sighed, that would have to come later. Now was for damage control for psyches. "You need time to think over this?" He would find his own way around if Kakashi felt that he did, Minato was used to that.

He knew it was too good to be true. The idea of this person being a fake the mansion had placed to annoy him was just too tempting. But even if this was the actual Namikaze Minato he was talking to, it was still a cruel joke.

The voice sounded harsh and rough. As if the guy had been screaming for hours on end, maybe even more. Earlier his eye had caught the hole in his clothes and the seal that looked like the near twin of Naruto’s own. This confused him though. No one had mentioned Minato having a seal as well. Sarutobi-sama had only explained the essentials so he could get by dealing with Naruto. The same with Jiraiya-sama. Only the essentials were spoken of. It seemed there had been more to the seal then they had told him. One didn’t need to be a genius to figure out the details now with the new piece of the puzzle in front of him. Some of Kyuubi must be inside Minato.

What was the best way to deal with this situation? Reaching up he rubbed the back of his neck. “Mah. Either I am going insane or this place has hit a new high.” He muttered in response. Acting like the new events had nothing to do with him was a lot easier then it should have been. Blame it on his days in ANBU. He shoved his hands back into his pockets as he turned around to face Minato again. Might as well play along. “I came to terms with your death years ago. Same with the others. And I am not wholly surprised that you are here. In fact I was expecting this place to do something like this.” The lies came so natural now, easily wrapping themselves to the truth.

Kakashi held silent for a bit. Not wanting to push the current topic too much further. He wanted to see what Minato’s move would be first. Did the guy know just how long it had been? Or was he just guessing cause he himself was no longer a kid? “How many years has it been now?” He held back all the other questions he wanted to ask for later. First he needed to see if Minato held a possible clue as to how to get out of this place. “And how did you end up here?” If this place can pull someone from the belly of death, was it possible it could pull from the graves themselves? Or had death plotted with the powers who ruled this place?

Kakashi was studying him, that was good. At least the boy...man...damn was he really this old? Minato sighed and looked up at the ceiling. At least Kakashi seemed to be taking things a little in stride, hiding his emotions, being a true ninja. Damn the ninja way sometimes. Minato didn't feel that this was a time to keep everything in check. He wanted to jump up, dance around, hug Kakashi and ask a million questions. He was free. Somewhat.

"If you're going mad then so am I." Minato gave the other that knowing smile, his voice softening a little, returning to it's usual sound. The hands in pockets wasn't lost completely on Minato. If he knew his student he was far from relaxed and far from...handling this well. But Kakashi...well he was Kakashi. Nothing could truly be done with him.

His brows drew together slightly as he tried to make sense of Kakashi's words. "This place?" He raised a brow, "How far are we from Konoha? Where's the new Hokage?" He wasn't sure if Sarutobi had taken over for a little while after him or not, but he knew now that if Sarutobi was in Death, then there had to be a new Hokage. Surely they would make a bit more sense than Kakashi's...muttering. "What's going on, Kakashi?"

Minato then shook his head, he was going to far. "Wait, don't answer those. It's been thirteen years, I think." Raising a hand to his forehead he rubbed a temple, studying Kakashi some more. "I..." He had to form the situation into words. "Death released me, sealed the Yin of Kyuubi in me that I pulled with me. He said hardly anything, something about 'they' had plans for me and that I would be alive." Shrugging his shoulders he tried to think it through. "Sarutobi was in his stomach." He looked at Kakashi, "What happened?"

So they had plotted. Death and these powers over them. His hand tightened at the mention of Sarutobi-sama being inside Death’s stomach. “We are no where near Konoha. And I do not know how far. I highly doubt the Hokage even knows that we are here.” Technically it would be ‘we’. Between himself, Sasuke, Neji, and possibly others. Kakashi glanced out one of the windows thinking things over before continuing.

“It has been at least fifteen years to me. A few years ago Sarutobi-sama, The Sandaime Hokage, passed away while trying to seal Orochimaru’s powers. The snake had grown too strong and turned on its home. If it is true you just saw him then this means the gates are able to pull over various time frames.” He looked back over at the gates now looking beautiful covered in the frozen fountain. “We felt that was the case, but you are the first real proof.” So it was possible. Possible to pull from different places and times. He’d have to make sure Dr. Grimm added that to her notes later. But if this was true, who else was it going to pull in?

At the mention of Kyuubi, he looked down at the seal on him. Was it strong enough? He unfortunately was never able to gain enough fine control over his chakra to learn the more complex seals Minato had been able to use. So use to learning how to cause his to go harsh, it was difficult to go in the other direction. “Is it stable?” He nodded to the seal. “Do you think it will hold him as well as Naruto’s?”

Raising a brow at Kakashi, Minato let out a quick breath. It wasn't a sigh, it was more of a silent 'great' than anything. Straightening his coat he pulled it closer. Wouldn't do for him to get a cold because he was just being stupid standing around. Looking down at what Kakashi gave him he raised a brow. "Hokage's aren't mind readers." While he had been in office he had sure wished for that power. His room number was 302, great. What the hell did that mean?

Listening to Kakashi he ran a thumb over the key. "So we're in one of those fiction stories that Jiraiya wrote?" He raised a brow and snorted, "Come on, Kakashi, tell me the truth." We? Who was we exactly? Probably the trouble makers of his time. Somehow they had come up with a jutsu to pull former powers from the graves and...oh he should beat them. That could be highly dangerous. Frowning he looked at Kakashi, then around them. No, this was far too elaborate. "Jutsu?" Who would be strong enough to deal with Death on his behalf?

Minato looked down at himself as Kakashi studied him. "I didn't do this seal, Death did. He's not the best." Minato lifted a shoulder, "I might need your help to control it, or that of someone else. At the mention of his son a grin started to spread. "So it worked? I didn't kill him? He's alive and well? Where is he?" He stepped closer to Kakashi, excitement over seeing his son nearly grown bubbling through him.

Kakashi was slowly growing irritated. He could feel the stress coming back that he’d held off for so long. It was good to see someone he knew even though it was confusing, but the constant questions and disbelieving. “I can only tell you what I was told. We are in some mansion, on some island in the middle of no where, not near home. And supposedly we were brought here through the power of gods who like to mess with us like some kind of large game board.” Why couldn’t he just trust him on this one? Wasn’t what he saw proof enough? Who’s ever heard of it being frozen on the inside of a house? “I have already looked for the signs of any jutsu or traps. None of use have found any signs of it being as such.” He sighed and tried to calm down.

Studying the seal he wasn’t sure what help he would be able to give. “I can try. Sasuke’s chakra is well controlled. He could be of he-“ He stopped, remembering what happened a few days again, subconsciously he rubbed at his left shoulder. “Never mind. We should leave him be for now. Neji could still help.” He never talked to the Hyuuga much, but he knew from Naruto the boy knew his stuff and with his eyes could pine point any possible issues there might be in Minato’s chakra flow.

Kakashi blinked a bit in surprised over the pure joy radiating from the guy. He wasn’t use to dealing with this kind of behavior in the last few years. “He is not here. Last I saw him he was doing fine. Went off to train with Jiraiya for three years. I haven’t seen him since.”

Kakashi wouldn't lie to him twice, the kid never had. Usually all it took was a pointed look and a pause in normal conversation. That was before Kakashi grew up though. Minato didn't know what had happened to him in the thirteen years after his death. By the looks of things, Kakashi was still pretty much the same, just older. A little less sullen. Maybe.

"Us?" He raised a brow, "So we are not the only nin here?" He pointed between the two of them and canted his head to the side. Hope and plans began to build. He would get home. If there were more than two great nins here then the mansion held no hope in holding them there. Nodding Minato kept his eyes on Kakashi. "I can teach you still it seems." He gave the other a smirk and then lifted a shoulder. "We'll see what we can do. It is nothing to worry about now."

His grin faded into a look of disappointment. "I see." He paused for a moment, remembering the war around him, the death and destruction in those last few moments of his life. "Kushina?" He gave a soft smile, not willing to get his hopes up again. Minato had heard Death's whispers, and he thought that Kushina might be dead. He just wasn't sure.

Chuckling he stepped forward, reaching out to ruffle Kakashi's hair, "Come, Kakashi, show me where the ramen is."

“No. There are others. We are the oldest though. From those I was able to find, the other three are all just gennin in experience. Neji is to be promoted to Jounin soon if the rumors were right the last time I was home. Sasuke is still gennin. And the third I do not know. He was the enemy. Most likely harmess to you and I now.” He shrugged not really wanting to go through the entire history that Minato had missed while dead. That would be a lot of explaining. “I would not mind learning a few new tricks. But nothing extravagant. We never know when we’ll need the chakra to fight in this place.”

Kakashi couldn’t help but suck in a bit of air quickly at that name. He should have know he would ask of her. Of all of them. “Sen….Minato-san. During the Kyuubi attacks, over seventy percent of the village was in ruins. Then the Uchiha….” He paused at that name and looked around a second remembering where they were. “These are subjects to talk about elsewhere.”

The hair on the back of his neck rose in more warning then the actual sight of the hand coming near. Not letting it faze him he easily side stepped it on his way walking towards the kitchen. “You are unbelievable. Alive for less then five minutes and you are already wanting ramen.” Pausing for a second he looked sightlessly over his left shoulder back at his sensei. “Coming?”

Nodding as he took in this little amount of information, he kept the tally up in his head. There would be a time for focus and for work to be done together. They would all need separate goals to conquer over the single problem that was starting to break fully upon his mind. They were trapped here. No way to get back. Konoha would be missing her ninjas. If word of such got out to the enemies it could be disastrous, especially if Konoha was the only one suffering from this.

"Never underestimate." He muttered, old habits died hard. His blue gaze rested on Kakashi, studying, measuring. One might think that he was reading Kakashi like an open book, perhaps he was. He jerked his head in a nod again, giving an disarming smile, "I'll make sure you'll still have enough for your defenses."

Minato was getting ahead of himself. Leave it to Kakashi to ground him for a little while. Just so many things going on, he was confused and he wanted answers. Answers he obviously could not have. "Do you have a safe place?"

Letting the hurt cross his features when he couldn't do an age old injustice to the other would be below Minato. He just chuckled, dropped his hand as if nothing happened and followed Kakashi after a moment. "You forget, I got very little food in the bowels of Death. I have been starving for a taste of anything for thirteen years." He had been starving for a lot of things while battling what remained of the Kyuubi. It was odd, following Kakashi. Usually he was the leader. How the world changed.

Kakashi grunted lightly at Minato’s muttered advice. He was just going to have to deal with it for now. He knew and understood the man was going to act like he was still his young student. It would take time for him to get use to the idea that they were on equal terms now in knowledge at the vary least. Power wise, he was sure the famed Yellow Flash could still kick his ass. His stamina just wasn’t high enough. If there was a time limit, he could possibly go all out and beat him.

He nodded to Minato’s question. “My room’s safer then here. Few can get in.” Really no one should be able to, but Ash had proven that wrong.

Walking through the doorway into the dinning area, he nodded over towards the table where a bowel of steaming Ramen was already waiting. “There you go. When you’re done more will come if you’re still hungry.” With that he moved over to the wall and set up leaning back against it and pulling out the third installment of Icha Icha. He had gotten back into the habit of carrying one of them around with him again.
