April 14th
Who: Rose Tyler and Open (To a Greeter.)
When: Early Afternoon
Where: by the fountain
What: arrival
Rating: TBD
Status: In progress

Rose held her gun in a ready position as she ran down the street. She chased the latest member of the Slitheen family to reveal itself down Victoria street as it took a turn on to Dacre. They had it cornered.
"When will this family ever learn?" She rhetorically asked Danielle
"Bring her in boys!" Danielle turned to her friend and leaned her head slightly to the side. "This is the first time I've seen whatever… this is."
"Slitheen."
"Slitheen? What race is that?"
"It's a family. They come from Raxacoricofallapatorius."
"…what was that?"
"I'll debrief you later." Rose watched as the giant green creature screamed that it was merely out for a morning stroll while it was stuffed into a large unmarked van. Letting her arms hang at her side Rose let Danielle tend to those who had to bring the creature into headquarters.
This Earth was different from home in many ways, including the absence of a Doctor which meant the people were forced to face aliens a lot more. Though the Torchwood Institute did the best they could to hide the truth, they were understaffed and things would often slip. Even today there was a multitude of witnesses to the event.
An eerie wind blow and Rose felt a shiver run down her back. "Hello?" she looked around and saw nothing. Turning to head towards headquarters she found a large door in front of her. Circling it she saw that there was nothing attached, just a door on the corner of Dacre and Victoria. Cautiously, but hoping to see a familiar face, she opened the door.

Rose entered through the doors of an unfamiliar yet comfortable building, the ceilings were tall and the architecture gothic. Holding her gun close she turned around the room and backed into a large fountain. Turning around she sat on the edge and marveled at the heavenly and demonic artwork sculpted on the water source in front of her. Studying the details for any clues of where she was she saw staircases through the falling water. She abandoned the fountain and began towards the right most staircase when she heard a voice.

The doors had opened again! It was a great day! Not! Hammy shook his fist at the little cupid, tail twitching and fluffed out. He was hovering over red, heart-shaped cookies that were HIS. No little flying thing with ridiculous arrows were going to get his cookies. Stuffing two cookies in his mouth Hammy grabbed the map and key, putting the map over the cookies he fished in the desk for another one.

He and the desk were getting along now. They had come to an understanding. As long as the desk got what it wanted it would mess with Hammy. Looking around he tried to find the woman that had come through the fountain. "Mmmwatch!" His muffled scream came out along with a few cookie crumbs.

Scurrying down the desk with the map and key he ran over to the woman. Tripping and skidding about halfway there. He punched the map, "Ffmmpich!" He swallowed the cookies as he realized that the cookies were taking over his voice! "Wait! You can't go up there yet!" Hammy jumped and jumped and waved the map and key around wildly. "You need these!"

Rose stopped for a minute as the little squirrel jumped around excitedly in an effort to get her attention.
"Right, of course." She took the keys and map. Opening the map she saw that she was in a house, a rather large house. There was nothing outside of it, at least not according to this map. Then again, it could have been simply a map of the mansion. folding up the map she examined the key, there seemed to be nothing unusual about it, just a normal key.
"I'm sorry, I seem to be lost, where exactly are we?"

Hammy grinned up at her, "You're at the mansion!" He pointed to the fountain, "Lots of people have come through there to get here! They say something about godsies or whatever making us come here." He shrugged his furry shoulders then seemed to vibrate in place. "Hi! I'm Hammy!"

A paw shot up and he waved wildly at her, before the paw joined it's mate in front of his chest. Humans were so tall! Looking up at her with large green eyes he gave her another smile. "It's an island. There's a pretty beach outside!" He swatted at the cupid that was flying dangerously close to him, tackled it, beat it a few times then kicked it away.

Huffing he gave her another smile, "That's your room key! Should have your name on it all pretty. And you are here!" He pointed at the floor. "Your room should have your name glowing like a firefly...cept it don't blink really it...stays on..." He paused for a moment, looking rather confused. "So it's not like a firefly then..."

"Sure it is," she couldn't help but smile at the hyper creature. "I'm Rose. Nice to meet you."
Out of the corner of her eye she caught the sparkle of her name on the key. He was right, at least she thought it was a he, there was her name.
"So where should we go first, the beach or more exploring in the mansion?" Rose waited for a second and before Hammy could get out a word she made her decision. "Exploring it is!" She ran up the closest staircase, map in hand and key in pocket.

"Nicetomeetyoutoo!" Hammy had made a new friend and he was happy! Even if she was human. He so wanted another animal to run around with.

Hammy blinked at the question, he'd never been asked that before. He gasped as she ran off. Humans and their long legs. He looked longingly back at his cookies for a brief second. Running back tot hem he stole five. He was then on her heels in the blink of an eye. "Cookie?" Hammy waved one up to her. "Where are you exploring?"

Rose slowed down so that Hammy could catch up with her. She was already three quarters of the way up the staircase before she heard him ask her about a cookie. She was really curious and wanted to see every part of this place. "I'm not sure... anything and everything I suppose... a cookie? why not...." she ran back down the stairs and took the cookie from Hammy, "so are you coming?"

Hammy grinned and nodded, "Sure!" He stuffed another cookie in his mouth and ran up the stairs, bouncing a little in place before going on up to the second floor. "Rooms! I like playing in this one!" He managed after he swallowed the cookie.

Running to down the hall a little ways he came to the dance hall. Jumping up he landed on the door handle and gave it a twist, jerking around and looking around as the door slowly swung open. Jumping into the room he ran as fast as he could, then jumped on a piece of paper and skidded across the dance floor. "See?! It's fun! Try it!" He was now in the middle of the floor, jumping up and down on the piece of paper with his cookies and with a wide grin plastered to his furry face.

Rose finished her cookie and followed Hammy, for such a little guy he sure was fast. Following him into the dance hall she watched as he quickly slid across the floor. "If you insist!" she called to the middle of the room. Taking off her shoes she then took a few steps out of the room. Running in she slid across the floor a little farther than Hammy. She burst into explosive laughter lying in her back on the hardwood floor.

Hammy jumped up and down as the woman did as he told her, well asked her too. He couldn't really tell the difference. Just that everyone should do something that was fun!

"Yay!" He then bounded around, sliding all over the dance floor on the piece of paper. He had done it on his bare paws once or twice. After a lot of that his paws would get to hurting a little. "You'll like it here!"

"I hope so," she sat up enough to recline and watch Hammy run around the room. After a few moments Rose once again looked at her map and key.

"Well Hammy, thank you so much for showing me around, but I think I should try to find my room." She made eye contact with the little creature, "I will play with you later, 'kay?"

Hammy grinned, "Ok! I'll be all around! Always am! Catch me if you can...later...when you have time!" He waved both paws up at her with a larger grin on his face.

He picked up the piece of paper, "I better go back down then." Hammy nodded so much that his whole body began to bounce a little. "They expect me to greet and be on top of things when they can't be there." He shrugged small shoulders and grinned up at her again. "Bye!" Trotting off he ran down the stairs and tackled the desk, mainly because his pile of cookies were gone.
