April 1st, year unknown. Ash, Kakashi, and Legolas
Who?: Acheron Parthenopaeus, Hatake Kakashi, and Legolas Thranduilion
What?: Getting pulled to the mansion
When?: April 1st, imagine that
Where?: The mansion, of all places
Rating?: PG-13, for mild swearing
Status?: Complete

Acheron let out a long breath as if that breath would release him from the thousand years of torment and constant work. What a crock of shit that was. He snorted, and closed his eyes. The cool black silk sheets covered the lower half of his body, barely and honestly Ash was far too weary to care. It wasn’t like anyone was going to walk in on him anyway. Simi was busy with her sister watching QVC, and ordering gods knew what. It suited Ash just fine. Simi could have whatever she wanted, and she knew it. Alexion and Danger were off entertaining themselves, and Ash smiled at that. Even though he’d fucked up with Alexion he still thought he’d done right by the man.

He stretched his lean body out, and pushed the sheets off of him. It wasn’t like he needed sleep anyway, but still it helped from time to time to just unwind. Sitting up on the edge of the bed he ran a hand over his face, and then stood.

Black leather pants appeared on him riding dangerously low on his hips. He ran his hand through his hair, the white blonde strands turning black underneath his touch. He shook his hair out, and a black t-shirt with the band Misfit’s name appeared on him.

He sat down in a chair in the corner, and started to put his boots on. It was something he liked doing, oddly enough, but something that connected him with what little humanity he had left. Not that he really cared, but still.

Standing he grabbed his wraparound Ray-Ban’s, and slipped them on. For good measure he grabbed up his trench coat, not putting it on yet as he walked out of his room. He smiled at the sight of Simi, “Come on, I need to go see Artemis.” He let out a soft sigh as she made a face but finally complied.

The sensation of her sliding onto his skin in the form of a dragon tattoo was still odd to him, even though she’d been doing it for thousands of years. He was about to flash himself from Katoteros when another sensation crawled across his skin. Something wasn’t right.

He cursed as he was pulled from Katoteros without warning, and landed on…solid ground? He looked around, almost bewildered for a moment. There was the smell of the salty sea, the rustling of palm trees above him, and he was standing on a beach. A dark brow rose over the rim of his sunglasses as he turned. There before him stood a huge mansion, its doors open, welcome and inviting.

He felt Simi shift on his body, and he soothed her with a thought. He tried flashing himself to Artemis’ temple once again, cursing as he felt some of his powers locked on him. Grinding his teeth, he started toward the mansion, muttering Atlantean curses all the way.

He was going to figure out who did this, why they did it, and what they wanted from him. There was no possible way he could stay on this island, with this mansion. He feared for those who were on their way if he went too long without Artemis’ blood. He could feel other’s approaching the island, and fast. He slipped on his trench coat as he started toward the mansion.

He manifested a staff in his hands as he neared the door to the mansion, he paused for a moment, just listening and feeling out the place with what powers that hadn’t been locked down.

There was no malice, no true intent of harm…there was only peace? He took a step back, eying the mansion as if it was the devil himself. He took another step back, listening at the approach of someone else. Someone who’d seen far too much in his young years. Then there was another one far older than he appeared, much like Ash himself.

His brow furrowed for a moment as he thought, and for the first time in a long time indecision ran through him. Rolling his eyes, he let the staff go, and moved to lean back against the wall of the mansion. Folding his arms over his chest, he waited to see what the Fates were bringing to him now.

Silently perched midway up a peculiarly tall cherry tree, Kakashi surveyed the forest around him picking out any details for further investigation. Still not a leaf out of place. Giving a sigh of frustration, he pushed off the branch landing lightly on his feet ten feet below. He ran a gloved hand through his already tangled and dirty silver hair, looking around yet one more time. This had to be the most boring mission to be put on his record.

“Mah…..Guess this is what I get for ending up in the hospital so many times.” He shoved his hands deep into his pockets and began slowly picking his way between the trees to avoid leaving signs of being there.

He paused as the wind picked up and suddenly shifted directions. Something wasn’t right. Breathing in deeply through the thin material of his mask, he snapped to attention at the strong salt air that was so overpowering and unmistakable. Beach air. But he wasn’t anywhere near the beach. Confused, he ran back up into the trees and along their branches till he could see a clearing up ahead of him. He slowed his pace and came to a full stop in a tree the stood at the edge of the clearing. Spread out before him was a large, farm like estate. The place looked like a castle with all of its floors, windows, and odd structural design. He knew nothing about anyone living out here. Even in the books there were no mentions of this.

Taking the time to sit and observe for a good hour, he finally made up his mind. He wasn’t going to get any answers from the view he had, and there had been no signs of anyone around either. Sliding his pack off his shoulders, he striped his military vest and long-sleeved shirt off leaving only a skin tine black tank on with his mask, shoving the rest in his bag along with his gloves and hatai-ate. Bringing out some gauze, he wrapped it around his head to cover his left eye from sight before doing the same to the tattoo on his upper left arm. The less questions he got, the better.

Satisfied, he shoved the rest of his things in the pack and shouldered it once more before dropping to the ground and making his trek across the fields towards the large building. There was no point in sneaking around. Too many variables that could cause harm to himself or even others. It was best to pose the part of a civilian and approach head on. At the vary least it would throw the other party off giving him a chance to retreat if they proved to be hostile. He let the thoughts drop as he neared the door and gave a loud knock.

For a day the earth beneath his feet had seemed restless. It was as if the earth was trying to tell him something, whisper soft words of doom and foreboding. He knelt, touching the earth with his bare hand. Still yet, it would not manifest words to him. He sighed, looking around at the trees he loved so. This was his home, his colony, his responsibility.

The men of Gondor were out riding, five of them, young and full of life. He watched them with a slight smile, his hand still on the earth. He could feel the hoof beats, even though they were still so very far away. Legolas stood, not bothering in lifting an arm to salute, humans had weak eyes.

His light step disturbed nothing, bow and quiver rested on his back. His short sword was at his side, his cloak clean and well mended, swung over his back. The habits of war were harsh, and he wished he could give them up as easily as some of the others. This whisper in the wind of something to come had the elf lord on edge. He paused, listened to the wind, a hand now resting on the smooth bark of a tree. It was young, far younger than he, but it had many years to grow yet, already strong and bearing.

Moving on Legolas watched an odd bird fly overhead, an odd smell hit his strong senses and before he could react, something hit him. He leapt back, bow and arrow drawn, fletching pulled to his ear and eyes narrowed. A strong wall graced his sight. Whirling around Legolas looked and felt. The wind of the sea caressed his face, younger trees than those that graced the land of his home were all around, tamed earth abounded around out buildings. Seeing no one Legolas dropped his bow, fingers still holding the draw.

Glaring at the wall of the large and absurdly build mansion, Legolas, moved around the obstruction to his sight. Here an odd power pulled, ached for more to come. His body tingled and finally he was met with the entrance to the obstruction. His eyes narrowed on a...human. His fingers twitched on the bow and he walked forward. His feet never making a sound, as they never did. Coming to the steps he looked at them, then looked at the mansion.

"There is evil and good in this place, I suppose we shall find out what turns the tides." There was another inside, he could feel them, power and age, more than he. The one before him...tainted by war and loss. Legolas frowned, not one was light, they were all tainted.

Ash didn't want to answer the door, he had no wish whatsoever to open that damned door. Letting out a long breath, his swirling silver eyes narrowed behind his sunglasses. There were two of them, he could feel them both.

He closed his eyes, calming Simi again with a thought as the demon shifted on his skin. He opened the door with his powers, when it shut he had no idea, but he'd toured the mansion already. Things were in place, in order, and really? It might not be so bad to chill out here for awhile.

He eyed the two. "Well, I've got a mummy or a hospital patient." He commented as he looked at Kakashi before he slid his gaze behind his glasses to Legolas. "And a Damion who glows. What'd you do? Ingest a glow stick?" He snorted and rolled his eyes behind his glasses. He knew better than that really.

The man with the bandages was a ninja, Hatake Kakashi, who didn't want it revealed that he was a ninja. Ash could deal with that, as long as the ninja didn't want to know anything about him. The other one who looked like a Damion was...well, Ash had heard of them, but had never really thought they existed. He was an Elf, a mythical creature like himself. He couldn't help but smirk.

"Welcome to the mansion I suppose, and before you ask I have no idea why we're here." He lifted a shoulder, and took his original position against the wall. He watched the two carefully, only guessing at what assumptions they had about the nearly 7 foot tall man. Did he care? Not really. "The only thing I do know is that someone far more powerful than me brought us here, and the way the gods play...I doubt we'll be able to leave any time soon either." Reaching up he pushed his glasses up on top of his head, revealing his eyes to the others for a moment as he pinched the bridge of his nose.

He dropped his hand, and in the process pushed his glasses back into their rightful place. He ran his tongue over his teeth, "And trust me, if they're more powerful than me then we're fucked." He wasn't being boastful, he was stating a fact. "I'm Acheron Parthenopaeus, by the way. Call me Ash if you like." He shrugged his broad shoulders, not really caring what they called him at this point.

Kakashi’s heart jumped into his throat at the sound of someone speaking behind him. It took all his training to show no signs of the surprise. Had there been someone there before? He hadn’t heard a thing. No foot steps. No sound of clothes moving. Either he wasn’t paying attention as much as he thought he had been, or they were highly skilled assassins better then even he.

As he glanced past his blind spot to study the young man that had spoken, the door to the mansion opened reveling another man. Suddenly the place is so crowded. He looked up to study the guy’s face unused to people being taller then him. He didn’t like the feeling of being sandwiched between the two and moved to the side a bit so they were at a more comfortable distance.

“I take it that means you do not own this house then. Do you know who does?” He chose to ignore the jokes about his looks.

He had to get to the bottom of this situation and quick. The mission still needed to be done on time no mater how low ranked. Gods? The man didn’t make much sense to him, and the accent that he had, Kakashi had never heard before.

Bowing his head slightly in greating, he kept eye contact with the guy. "Kakashi." He glanced over at the other waiting for a name from their third party.

Standing behind the one Legolas glanced back down the stairs. He wondered if his beloved home was still back there. He knew, it was not, the feeling was gone, he was alone in a strange place. Not alone, his eyes drifted back as the doors opened and the two other men moved. Oddly, he had to look slightly up at the man who had entered the mansion before them.

Age and power, he seemed like a Valar, one of the chosen. Then that harsh tongue and tone, and Legolas narrowed his gaze again. As the other two talked, then introduced themselves. Legolas thought for a moment, wondering whether he should even give them his time, the human he did not mind. They were known to be rash and fools and bringers of doom for all. The other, dark and brooding and hateful with no reason to sharpen that tongue.

It was just a name, "Legolas." He did not bow his head, he just stood there his head held high, he was an elf. He bowed to only his kind or the Valar, and these two certainly were neither of the blessed. Again his fingers twitched on the fletching of his arrow, the string of his bow ached to be pulled it seemed. He loosened his grip further, but still held ready.

Gods where what humans worshiped, had to, just like the elves did living things. Legolas was not sure if a Valar would do such a thing to the Children. Had he shamed them so? Had he not done as other elves, even Haldir and Galadriel and fought honorably for good? If so...why was he here? How he wished for home, even though fools only wished for things they could not have. He knew, it would be a long time before he laid eyes upon those beloved trees and lands.

Ash let out a long breath, he was putting his agitation on other beings when he shouldn't. He knew it, but still he did not want to be there. Just like the two that stood before him.

He inclined his head to the two as they introduced themselves, "Nice to meet you both, considering the circumstances. Excuse me for my tone, I'm just as aggravated as you two about this." Reaching up he ran his hand through his hair, his mind working quickly as he thought of different possibilities of why they were there. No doubt that Artemis was highly pissed, and he could only imagine his punishment when he did manage to see her. The scar on his neck burned for a moment, and he grimaced slightly.

He shook his head at Kakashi's question, shaking away the feeling of the burn. "No, I don't own this house, and honestly?" He scoffed, "I have no idea who does." He looked over to the fountain, smirking a little bit. "But whoever does, likes the thought of placing us in a place in between the worlds. Or at least that's what the fountain shows me." He lifted a shoulder, and turned his head to look back at them.

"Calm yourself, Legolas. I mean no harm, and I assure you that Kakashi means no harm either." He gave a slight smile to the elf, and let out another long breath.

"So, if this is what I think it is which is nothing more than gods playing a petty game...hold on boys, it's going to be a bumpy ride." He could feel the pull of the mansion, he could feel it calling out to others and could feel them being pulled there. "Alright, so the question is, what are we going to do about all of this?" A dark brow rose over his sunglasses as he looked at the others, waiting on their response. "Because we're not going to be the only ones here, well, not for too long at least."

Looking between the two, Kakashi got a sense that he was the only one who thought of himself as a little more humbling. He wasn’t sure what this ‘Ashu’ was getting at about being upset and aggravated. It was just a house with no owner. Best to just leave things alone then. Why act like they were prisoners? There were no fences. No bars. He couldn’t even pick up any genjutsus trying to hold them there. But at the same time he didn’t feel the need to go and try to prove the point by leaving himself. Instead he felt curious about the place. Between worlds? He tried to peek discreetly through the door at the fountain he had mentioned, wanting to get a better look at it. So far all he could see was a large yet normal fountain. Well, normal for someone with an odd art sense. But that wasn’t so strange for the rich.

“What do you mean ‘we’?” he looked back up at Ash. “I am just passing through and have no intentions of sticking around to play guest greeter.” How would the guy know others were coming? He hadn’t missed the slight flash of those silver eyes. Maybe it was a kekkai genkai? No. There were only three of those that existed involving the eyes, and those weren’t the byakugan. The man had to know more then he was letting on. As for the other, Kakashi glanced at the tall blonde, he was entirely too silent. That he could handle. Those who were silent in words tended to say a lot in their movements and eyes. A language he liked to think he was good at reading after working with the nin-dog pack for so many years.

As the taller of the three seemed to calm, Legolas did as well. Emotion, it was such a strong pull in any being. Having been taken away from home, from normalcy would set any on edge, emotions whirling like the wind from a storm born on the turbulent sea.

"The house belongs to itself, it grows and seems to have breath. I do not think a structure of this sort shall ever be truly owned." Legolas nodded at the words and with a small hesitation he released his hold. The arrow went back into his quiver, the bow upon his slim shoulder, his hands came to rest at his sides, close to the blade he held dear. He knew beings of this stature were not above tricks and bribes.

Sharp eyes looked over the fountain, brows drew slightly together. The elf had seen a rendition of the like before, smaller of course, and not half as dark contrast against light. Between worlds indeed, neither good nor evil seemed to call him from the fountain.

Looking back at the human, Legolas gave a small smile, "I do not think we will have a choice. We were called here first for a reason. I think it is us that the structure wants to give slight power to, or perhaps it is these gods that toy with us as you mentioned before." He lay a hand against the wall, "Or perhaps it is us that will learn the most from those to come, we will only have to wait and find out."

Legolas was an elf, prime of his years, proud and of a good house. He would not let his father down now, nor his friends that he would miss dearly in the coming days. A part of him hoped that they would be brought here as well.

A deep rumbling laugh came from Ash, and he lifted a shoulder at the ninja. "Try leaving the island. If you can, kudos and I'm sure it won't be long before we'll follow suit. I doubt though, that you'll be able to find a way off."

He canted his head to the side, listening to the words that Legolas said. He gave a half smirk, "You are right, there is a reason why we were called here first. What that reason is, is up in the air." He didn't know what was really going on, and it slightly unnerved him. He slid his gaze back over to the fountain, eying it for a moment. "They'll come through the gates." Irony should have been Ash's middle name. He didn't know what to expect from the place and honestly, that worried him. He looked around the foyer again, canting his head at the desk in the corner.

Pushing himself off the wall, he moved to the desk. Long, quick strides carrying him there in only a few short movements. He rounded the desk, never leaving his back exposed to the other two. He snorted at the three keys that laid on the desk. They looked like old motel room keys. The plastic end however didn't only hold a room number, but their names engraved in gold as well. "Looks like we aren't going anywhere." He picked up his key, turning it over in his hand as he looked at it. He glanced back up at the others, "Well it looks like we've got rooms. So, I suggest that we make the best out of this and see what happens." He watched them both very carefully, waiting to see if either one of them would come into the mansion to get their keys or if he was going to be in this alone. He was typically in things alone, so this wouldn't bother him one little bit.

Kakashi looked over at them in confusion before finally stepping beyond the doorway and making his way towards the fountain to get a closer look. Something felt….odd. He didn’t like it. Even though it was just art and water, he got that same tugging sensation like there was a powerful genjutsu pulling at him. How could they be on an island? He walked here. That meant he could walk back. It had to be some elaborate trick.

Discreetly he brought his hands up in a seal, figures touching for just a brief moment. “Kai.” He whispered, putting more energy into it then volume. Nothing changed. This was no illusion.

Sighing, he dropped has arms to his sides and made his way over to the keys the other had found. Picking up apparently his own key, he flipped it over and studied the name curiously. It was even written in kanji. “Maybe these rooms will have answers in them.” He looked up at Ash in question to see if he was thinking the same or not. “Though with these unique circumstances I do not think we should split up.” There was no way he was going to let either of them out of ear shot. He still didn’t trust them.

Legolas was not sure whether a laugh from the darkest of them was a comforting thing or one he should draw his blade for. The words still seemed harsh, he would just have to get used to this being. Or the being used to him. "We will find a way." He gave a slight smile to Kakashi.

Moving into the mansion Legolas did not want to do. Once in, who was to say that he would ever be let out again. Outside...there still seemed to be an ounce of freedom beckoning from the crashing waves. He stepped through the doors, feeling them want to pull to a close behind him. Standing there, blocking the progress, he gave a small sigh and walked on in. Again his footsteps barely made a sound, only a small scuff on the marble floor when he stopped.

He watched Kakashi as he went over to the desk. Picking up his key he ran a thumb reverently over his name in his tongue. "It seems as if it wants to make us feel at home whilst trapped in a cage." A gilded, beautifully made cage, Legolas had not seen anything like this. Not even the white walls of Gondor held this beauty, but Legolas would be sore to compare it to elven structures.

He wanted to explore it, he knew that the three of them would probably never get lost in the mansion. "We should not. I suppose we should greet the guests as they come. I fear that they will not take this as well as us, some of them perhaps, but not many." Again a finger ran over the familiar words on his key, he felt so young for not knowing exactly what to do. He had never heard stories of this. "Perhaps, after some time and deliberation, we may be able to send messages out. I'm sure whom ever is doing this would not mind that extra pull to our friends." A wry smirk crossed his features, then disappeared just as quickly.

Ash reached up, rubbing his temple as a tic had started there. The Atlantean writing on his key unnerved him even more. What forces had brought them there? He had one guess, and the god Savitar was a constant pain in Ash's ass.

To his surprise the ninja entered and Ash canted his head curiously as he tried to be discreet. He looked away, and down the hallway his eyes narrowing behind his dark sunglasses. Letting out another sigh, he looked back up as the elf came into the mansion. He was slightly confused, but at the same time thankful that this would be one endeavor that he would not have to face alone.

He nodded at Kakashi's words, and listened to Legolas as he spoke. "Yes, this house is going to be full of surprises I believe." He felt Simi shift again, and he too shifted as she moved across his skin.

Lifting a shoulder he folded his arms across his chest, "They might contain some answers, or reveal things about us that we have no wish for others to know." He felt that when they did open the doors to their rooms that was what they'd find, things about the others that no one should know. He had enough to deal with at the moment without the other two finding out anything about him.

But still he complied, "Let's go check this place out, and I agree with you Legolas, although there seem to be other beings here now who might be more suited for the job than us." He could feel things stirring in the basements below. Not evil, but not necessarily good either. He gave a droll look at the elf, "By all means, you two can try it, but I'd really rather not have anyone know where I'm at." He looked away for a moment, and then down at his key. "The number on my key is 315. So, I'm guessing 3rd floor." He looked up at the other two, "What about yours?"

Kakashi wasn’t sure if he wanted to know who else was apparently already there. And to be greeters? So far they weren’t doing a very good job as they still hadn’t shown themselves to the first guests.

He glanced down at his card for the number. “300.” Good. At least they weren’t going to have to be neighbors. He didn’t like the idea of the rooms showing things about themselves. He liked his room to be plan. Something just functional with the minimal amount of things. It made his life easier. Between the cleaning and the worries one might have of their possessions while away for long periods of time. He only had one plant to be concerned about. A plant that never seems to even come close to dieing. He suspected Gai was sneaking in and watering it after returning from a month long mission to find it healthier then before and twice the size.

No, these people didn’t need to know about him or his life. Better to be rooming away from them for now until the rooms can be checked out for anything revealing and objects removed. “Is yours also a three hundred number?” Kakashi looked up at Legolas for confirmation.

His mind ran with ideas of how he could get out of this place and safely back home. First he would need to see what the others would do. Acheron Parthenopaeus seemed fine with staying in this place, not happy, but not finding a pressing matter to be back either. Kakashi on the other hand wanted back as did Legolas. The more he entered the mansion, looked at the structure, the more curious he became though. He would find how the mansion worked, or the workings behind it, surely. Then and only then would they be able to get back to their worlds.

"Yes, 342." He smirked at the number, remembering the battle that he reached such a number of deaths by his hand. He wondered if Gimli would go on competing, even if his friend was not there to gloat to. Legolas had nothing to hide from the others, after all, he was an elf. Only evil should he hide from, and then only when drastically outnumbered.

Moving over to the desk he laid a hand upon it, then began opening up the drawers. He found folded pieces of shining parchment in one. Pulling one out he unfolded it, the great length almost taking up the whole desk, but smartly folded to where one could look at any column singly if one wanted. "Ah, a map." Studying the construction for a while his eyes landed upon his name, written in Elvish and English and a few others he could not name under the number 342. "We are already on here." He pointed at his name, his finger sliding lightly over to Kakashi's then Acheron Parthenopaeus' rooms. "You language is old, both of them." He added while looking at their names in their script.

"I suppose these maps will be handed to every guest." He glanced up at the other two, quickly folding up the map and putting it in his waist pocket. For the map to be so big it fit nicely in small places. "This place is full of wizard's tricks." He moved out from behind the desk, not wanting to explore it anymore. He moved to the stairs, mounting them lightly and staring at the fountain as he walked. Perhaps if they reversed the way it opened, then they would find home on the other side.

Ash moved as Legolas came near. It wasn't out of rudeness, he just didn't like people close to him. He watched as the elf pulled a map from the desk, a dark brow rising over his sunglasses again. "Well, ain't that just spiffy." He smirked as Legolas mentioned something about his language being old. He looked over the elf's shoulder, noting the Elvish language. It was something that Ash personally had never seen, and that was speaking volumes. "And yours is one I do not know, which is saying a lot." He lifted a shoulder, "Mine's been around for...12,000 plus years, probably longer, but that's another story."

He nodded, "Yes, might be a good idea." Once Legolas had moved, he opened the drawer and pulled two out. He handed one to Kakashi, and tucked one away in the inside of his trench coat. He wanted it just in the event that someone he knew came along, which was, highly doubtful. "No, these are gods tricks, not wizards." He shook his head, and moved to the opposite staircase. Once again, it wasn't that he was being rude, he just didn't like his back to anyone at any given point and time.

Once he reached the top landing, he peered down at the fountain. "Looks like any normal fountain from up here." He murmured, and then looked at the doors. The numbers shined golden, and he had to shake his head at them. "One more floor." He started up the next flight of stairs, and made it to the third landing. There he glanced around, and spotted his room. His eyes narrowed behind his sunglasses as he looked around. He didn't head towards his room yet, but waited on the other two.

Kakashi accepted the map with a small nod of gratitude. Not even glancing at it, he shoved it away in his pocket. Later when he had time alone he would check it out in more detail. Maybe it would show the outside grounds in detail as well. In any case, it would definitely become handy later on.

He watched the other two move off towards the stairs before taking his time in following. Seeing the others were not paying attention, he reached up and slid one of the strips of gaze up off his left eye to take a peek at the fountain. He ignored the familiar headache the action brought, and focused on looking at every inch of the fountain. It seemed even the sharingan could not give him any answers. He pulled the gaze back over the eye again with a sigh and quickened his pace up the rest of the stairs to the third landing.

He glanced down at his key and then the doorway with the same number. “Shall we each go in our own rooms at the same time?” Maybe splitting up for the small chance to check out their rooms would not be too risky. They’d only be out of each others eyes for a small second before being together again. And he was confident that he would sense any attack if one were to come. Getting out of the way from an attack would be a different matter. In this place no plans could be made. He would just have to improvise for each situation when it occurred.

"I know of wizards who had such dark power that they may outrank some gods." Sauron for one, mighty powerful, but his power was his weakness. Such pride he had in being evil and being in control of such evil, it was his downfall in the end, thanks to a small creature of great fortitude.

The elf moved to his room, glancing at the other two's. They created a near perfect triangle. A sign of friendship, power binding, and many other things that Legolas did not wish to dwell on. He sighed, placing his hand on the door that bore his number, "Perhaps it would be best." He could feel the wariness in the other two, and he did not wish to be a part of their discomfort in any way.

"If this structure wanted to do us harm, it would have done so by now, surely. Would you not think?" He looked at the other two, his hand still upon his door, the key in his other hand, ready to open the portal. He felt peace, he felt a touch of home on the other side. Legolas would have a haven. His heart jumped with comfort and security, not as much as it would if he would to return home of course. "If there is danger, I suppose I shall see you two in the next life." He gave them a small smirk, "If I cannot save you."

He just hoped that they took to his teasing as Gimli had, or even Aragorn. With a light heart and perhaps a bit of teasing back. If not that look of haughty pride that would bring more of a smile to Legolas' lips. Challenging men these would be, perhaps ones he could grow fond of while they toiled together in this odd place.

Ash stared at the number on the door, his eyes narrowing slightly behind the dark glasses. He smirked a little at Legolas' words, "Hmm, that might not be such a bad idea." He commented to the ninja's question.

He nodded slowly as he listened to the others, "Yes, I believe that it would. Or at least I'd hope so. However, the best time to attack is when your opponents guard is down." He lifted a shoulder, eyes sliding over the door once again. He felt nothing from the place, nothing but a sense of peace at least.

Ash chuckled, a smile actually gracing his lips for a moment. "Very well, but I fear that if something were to happen to me...humanity in my world would be lost." A sadness darkened his features for a moment.

Just as soon as the emotion came it went, "On three then?" He turned, looking back at the other two for a moment before he turned his key over in his hand. "One," He slid the key into the lock, "Two," He turned the key, hearing the click of the lock unlocking, "Three." He opened the door.

An Atlantean curse could be heard from him as his hair shifted from black to a shimmering blonde. He growled, "Damn you." He cursed the house once again and ran a hand through his hair. No matter how hard he tried he couldn't get it to go back to the black he so loved.

He glanced around his room before entering it, smirking a little as he saw the items that lay around. An electric guitar stood in one corner, and an amp was beside it. His bed reminded him of his own, black satin sheets and nice satin comforter laid on top of the bed. On the wall there was a flat screen TV, and a couch in front of it. Stepping into the room he glanced over, and much to his surprise there was an adjoining room.

Walking over to it, he opened up the door and rolled his eyes with a slight groan before he shut the door. Simi would be happy with her room, that was for sure.

Stepping back out into the hallway, he crossed his arms and shifted as Simi moved rapidly across his skin. He stilled her with a thought, and looked for the other two. "Find everything alright?"

Kakashi hesitantly moved towards his door. He paused with his key hovering over the lock. “You would not end up where I would be going.” He stated softly. “At least I would not wish that place upon you.” Truthfully he wasn’t a religious person. He never could bring himself to believe in gods or beings that were unseen controlling all their fates. But after hearing of it, Hell was a place he could believe in, and he was certain it would be his destination for all his failures and the deaths he had caused over the years.

Listening carefully he waited for the countdown to finish before opening his door. A wave of easiness and comfort came over him as he touched the knob. It frightened him. Home had never felt like that. Now for a long time. He hesitated a moment, letting the other two enter their own rooms before pushing his open.

His eyes were met by white walls. White walls and a single good sized window with a soft breeze coming through. A normal bed was pushed up against one wall with soft, warm looking covers. A desk and chair were pressed against the other side, the top lined with his favorite book series and what looked to be others he had never seen before. But it was what was on the window’s sill that caught his attention the most. He was both at ease yet horrified to see the faces staring back at him.

Two pictures stood side by side, four people in each. The frames will worn and chipped at the edges from those days they had taken the brunt of his temper. Walking over, he quickly reached out and turned them face down. The memories they held had no place in such a comforting environment. He cursed at whoever found it amusing to bring the pictures there, wishing he could do it to their own faces.

Decided not to explore any further only to find other reminders, he exited and locked the door in a hurry ready to get out of there. He willed his heart to calm down and forced an indifferent look into his eye before joining the others in the hall yet again. “Who ever brought us here knows us well.” Including things they shouldn’t, he thought only to himself.

There was a bit more insight to either of his fellows now. Acheron Parthenopaeus was important in his world, perhaps one of the dark gods themselves. Maybe not so dark, he did have evil intentions at times, but so did most beings. If given the right incentive or life. Legolas' sharp eyes went over to Kakashi, the man was hard upon himself, as were most humans. So Legolas had come to find while being around the mortals.

Opening his room as the others did he pushed open the door and smiled. Soft light filtered into his room from the sky. Several different colors of green and white gauze provided the 'walls' of his abode. It was just like his room now. His bed was large, a four poster, holding the soft elvish made sheets, covers and pillows, the gauze coming to rest over his bed in a canopy. Only the one wall stood, the other three were open, the ceiling was white stone, pillars came to rest intermittently throughout his room.

Legolas was home. He ran his fingers over the silken cloth of a couch. Books and scrolls and parchment lined a shelf to his right, a desk was beside it, fitted with every instrument he would need. Opening a wardrobe he found his many clothes, neatly placed and in order. Everything he had in his room at home was here with him. Even down to the comb that his mother had given him as a child to use for all his years.

He could feel the others leave their rooms and frowned. Reaching up he let his fingers trail over a panel that wrapped loosely around a pillar. He stepped back out of his room, not bothering with closing his door. He preferred to be open, it was just in his nature. Legolas had nothing to hide, rarely did his guy ever have anything to keep from others.

"Yes." He murmured to Kakashi, "They know us quite well, or at least have been to our homes." A small smile played over his lips, "I think this will be rather engaging, challenging." He dropped the key into his pocket at his hip, he could feel a light wind coming from his room from outside and he smiled more.

Turning, Ash went back into his room kneeling down beside the side of his bed. Pulling up the comforter he reached underneath the bed, a smirk playing on his lips as he pulled out his old trusty backpack. They did know too much about all of them. He opened it, checked the contents before zipping it back up.

Slinging it over his shoulder he started back out of his room, and shut his door behind him. He didn't bother locking it for the simple fact he knew the other two wouldn't go into his room. He ran a hand through his hair knowing that once out of the proximity of his room he could turn it back to his favored black. He hated the natural color of his hair that betrayed his heritage. At least neither of them knew. They knew he was powerful, but that was about it. That, Ash could deal with. Them knowing anything further than that he wasn't comfortable with. So far he'd even managed to conceal Simi from the elf. Which if she was found, that would raise so many more questions. And half of those he didn't want to answer.

He had to agree with the ninja and his thoughts. He nodded slowly, "Yes, they know us far too well. It is a bit...unnerving." He thought for a moment, "Or perhaps it's not a 'they' but an 'it.'" He looked back at the other two, "The mansion is more than what it seems. It lives, it breathes. Can you feel it?" He raised a brow, thinking that the ninja wouldn't feel it but that the elf probably would.

Ash chuckled, "Challenging yes, it will be. Others will not be as accepting, so we had best be on our guard around them. I highly doubt though that the mansion will allow itself to be harmed, but that doesn't mean it won't let the inhabitants harm one another." He could be wrong, but he doubted it. "I suggest that we settle in because it's not going to be too much longer before the first...guests start arriving."

Kakashi was still unnerved by the idea of dealing with even more strangers living in such close proximity. He’d have to make sure to up his security measures around his room once away from his current company. He also wanted to have some time alone to study the map and explore the outside grounds.

In slight embarrassment, his stomach growled in complaint. Having been on a long mission for the past few weeks, his food rations had been reduced down to what he could find and solder pills. “Whether this place is alive or not, ‘it’ or ‘them’ better be providing our needs.” There had to be some kind of kitchen in the house. He shifted the weight of his pack and brought back out the map Ash had handed him earlier. He studied the rooms and the words scribed in them designating what they were. It didn’t take him long to pick out the lines he could read in his own language. That’s when it dawned on him. If there were so many written languages….. “Why do we all speak the same language?” He voice out loud his curiosity.

Yet another mystery about the place. If they all had different written languages and accents, it only made sense they wouldn’t be speaking the same language. And yet here he was speaking his own and they understanding, speaking back to him even. He looked up at them, his hunger now forgotten again. Figuring out this place and these people were more important at the time.

"Yes, it is much more than it seems. The structure grows and changes, as does the island. Both are ever changing, ever teasing our senses. Even now I do believe there is a new room that way, there are green things within, growing and calling for care." Legolas pointed to the right of him, and down, "It is outside the actual structure."

Legolas paused for an instant in talking, feeling out the place he stood in. He shook his head slightly, "I do not thing that the structure is it's own king. Like we have said before, there are many fingerprints on this. I nearly feel them upon my skin." He made a slight face, his lips pulling into a frown.

Studying Kakashi for a moment, then glancing back at Acheron Parthenopaeus, then back at the human. Pulling out a leaf wrapped packet from his belt he opened it, showing a piece of slim bread of the two within the wrappings. "It is called lembas, a small bite will hold the body's needs at bay for days, unless of course you are a hobbit or dwarf." A small sad smile crossed his features as he held it out to the ninja, taking a corner of it himself and eating it. He knew the other was untrusting for now.

For a moment he thought over the question as well. They seemed to come from three completely different worlds. How could they all understand each other? He knew the speech of man, but these two spoke differently from the ones he knew. There was a slight disappointment in lack of cadence in their speech. "Another magic of the structure, or those who made it." He canted his head to the side, listening. "I feel laughter." His eyes narrowed, "We are being toyed with, not tested I feel." His gaze moved over to the dark god-like creature, then Kakashi, "Do you not feel the same? Us speaking in the same tongue so there will be no confusion, no language barriers, so that is not our test."

"A greenhouse." Ash murmured, following the point of the elf. He smirked as Kakashi's stomach growled, and closed his eyes for a moment. He didn't eat, he could drink, but even then things like alcohol had no effect on his system.

He nodded, slowly opening his eyes behind his dark sunglasses. "Yes, I'd have to agree with you." He could pick up several gods and goddesses fingerprints on the place. Some they would not know, but he knew them all. All gods and goddesses who had too much time on their hands.

Rolling his shoulders he raised a brow over at Legolas as the elf looked at him. He waited for a moment as the other handed the ninja something to eat. "And if you do not want that, there is some food downstairs in the dining room. I believe they have your favorite dish." He smiled a little bit, and lifted a shoulder.

He thought on the question for a moment. "Don't be surprised if that is taken away at some point and time. Us all speaking the same language. Since these beings that are toying with us have a sick and twisted sense of humor." He lifted a shoulder, "Our test." He mused aloud, lips pursing slightly. "There are many things that will be tested here, and I pray that I am not here long enough for my test to be brought to light." He knew what his test would be. How long could he really survive without Artemis' blood, how long before he turned into a bloodthirsty creature that was found only in nightmares? He shook his head, not willing to stay on that thought long. He felt Simi, and she gave him comfort in such a deary place.

How they could sense such changes so far away, Kakashi could not understand. He felt trapped in a cage with such people next to him. A feeling he absolutely hated. Eyeing the lembas, he hesitated before braking off a small corner. In this type of situation he was finding he was going to have to trust these two more then he would like. But it would be wiser to trust those thrown into the same situation then to trust those that were taunting him. It was possible that the food the blonde offered would be drugged, but it was more probable that food found in a kitchen in this house was poisoned, especially if it was true his favorite dish could be found there. Better to trust drugs then poison.

He watched as Legolas took a piece himself and ate it, waiting a moment before trying it himself. It smelled harmless enough and tasted sweet with no sub lining hints of drugs or poison. He slowly ate the rest of his piece feeling his hunger leaving soon after. The ideas of it satisfying him on so little didn’t sway him any. The structure and use of it was probably similar to the solder pills they carried for long missions. Packed with nutrients and proteins, they were made to hold them over till better provisions could be found. He had to admit though, he liked the bread-like lembas better. It was more like eating real food rather then popping pills.

Thinking over what the two talked about, he frowned at the idea of a test. If it was true those that brought them here knew his past, there were an infinite number of things they could be testing him on. Between what could actually mentally brake him to his fighting skills alone. He needed to find a way back home and quickly. Being declared MIA was not his goal in life. “We should come up with a way of communicating if it is true that they may take our understanding of each other’s speech away sometime. Signals of sorts till we can learn each other’s words.” It seemed reasonable enough to him. He had confidence in his skills to learn enough of their languages to be able to have some communication with them even if they did find themselves not understanding suddenly. When he glanced at the written languages earlier on the map, it seemed there were all different, but the other two did have some similarities. Spacing between what he assumed were words were similar in each as well as having more swirling characters with fewer lines rather then his own imaged based complex kanji with no spacing. He had to admit though, they’re lines were a lot longer, hoping he wasn’t going to have to learn an entire sentence of words just to say hello in their languages. “Hopefully when these tests do come, they will not involve others. Not to be rude, but I’m not particularly liking the idea of others learning of my life.”

"Greenhouse? Such a simple name for the growth of beautiful things that will last much longer than our lives if let be." Well perhaps not the dark god-like creature. He had seen many young trees and plants die himself, their years far fewer than his. His heart sickened at the thought of such wasteful deaths.

"There is a universal language in my world. It is based upon the language of the humans, since they have such a short frame of living, we did not want to trouble them with taking up their short life through the learning of a language." Legolas glanced at the other two, then thought for a moment. "Since it seems that there is quite a difference in our natives tongues, perhaps the signals of battle could be used?"

Again he studied the other two and smiled sadly, "Since we all three know war and hardship well. But each of our signals may be different, we shall have to see. I do not think that this game will take away our communication just yet, we have plenty of days to learn each other. Perhaps then we won't have need of many signals, but learn each other's eyes."

Legolas looked at Kakashi as he spoke and sadly looked away. Humans were so private, he could not understand such. Elves rarely had anything to hide, for everything they did was natural. He should start thinking of this as a battle, then perhaps he would be more like these others, wary and fearful of others.

Ash stood there silently for a moment, his mind working over different possibilities as to what they should do in the event that the language barrier became an issue. For him it wouldn't be much of an issue, unless it was a language he did not understand or was not from his world. Then again, if he started speaking Atlantean and nothing but, that would prove to be a very big issue. "Signals, either hand or other wise, will be good between the three of us. I doubt that the other guests will be up to the challenge of learning them, so we'll just have to wait and see on that." He lifted a shoulder and glanced around for a moment.

"You're not being rude at all, Kakashi. You are stating a simple truth that I agree with as well." He leaned back against the wall, "I will tell you two now, the longer I stay here, the more danger I put everyone in. If there is a way to get back so I get what I need to not make me a danger to those here, I need to take it." Reaching up, he rubbed his temple, and let out a short breath.

"The food here isn't poisoned by the way, eat until your hearts content. If at any time I can smell a change in the food, I will let you know immediately. The gods and goddesses may pull a prank every now and again with the food, but I doubt it will be harmful or that its effects will last that long." He lifted a shoulder, and pushed himself off the wall. "Well, gentlemen, I suggest that we go our separate ways for the time being do a little bit of exploring of the mansion and the surrounding area. See what can be found." He nodded, waiting and watching the other two to see what they would do.

Kakashi raised his visible eyebrow at the mention of ‘Humans’ Legolas made as if he himself was not human. In that sense he did smell different then a normal civilian. More like the shinobi of his village, smelling of the forest. He kept quiet about it, focusing on adjusting the edge of his mask after having turned away and removed it briefly when eating the food offered, double checked that the gaze around his eye had not moved where it met the mask. Even if the other food wasn’t poisoned and only had tricks played on them through it, he’d rather not subject himself to such pranks. He’d had enough from his student to last him a life time.

“Hand signals would be the best, unless your able to read just my one eye and Ashu-san’s hidden eyes?” He glanced at Legolas to see if that was a feat the supposed ‘non-human’ could do. “But on the other hand, hands can only convey single distinct meanings for each sign, no emotions and only a small number of gestures that can be made at further distances. We should probably decide on a select few gestures for emergency causes, such as warnings of danger or for such a time another arrives.” He doubted the other two would need warning of someone new arriving, but he would, seeing as he couldn’t sense their coming and goings at such a high ability as they could.

He nodding. “Exploring would be best. We should decide on a time and place to meet back at and share what we find. Maybe there is still a way out.” He could only hope, not liking the sounds of Ash’s warning. “What is it that you need? Maybe it can be found here?”

Acheron Parthenopaeus seemed to have little control over the vast amounts he needed to control. Legolas studied him for a moment, "Do you always have so little faith in the subjects you watch?" His brows drew together as he watched the dark one, there was so much there, just behind the surface. Legolas did not wish to pry, it was not his way. Looking away he shook his head, "Some may wish to help us in this endeavor." He could only hope, with a structure this large and this changing they would need help.

"There is much knowledge in this place. Perhaps we will each find what we must have. I fear if there is not light here, I will soon perish. It will be a slow death for me, quite painful." He finally looked at the other two, "Light, is what human's call hope, purity, all things good and decent and the complete opposite of evil." He then looked at Kakashi and smiled a slow smile, "It seems as if you might be the only one able to control this place if something does happen to either one of us." He motioned with a hand gently in Acheron's direction.

He then shook his head slowly, glancing at the two, "I am good at reading emotions, feelings, but the thoughts of the mind are often far from my sight unless I hear the voice that bears them." He paused for a moment, "I suppose if someone is coming through the doors then we should use a door opening symbol of some sort." He put his hands together, palms facing, then spread them open, thumbs touching, his palms now facing Kakashi and Acheron Parthenopaeus. "That should be the only one that we should really worry about the right meaning, is it not? Hunger we can rub our stomachs, emergency just grab and drag the others, would that be it?" He glanced at the other two. He could not think of anything else really pressing at the moment.

Glancing toward where the greenhouse was, Legolas felt that pull for the sweet outdoors. "I would not mind exploring the beginning floors under the ground, and the outside, if you two do not mind. My strength comes from nature mostly."

Ash smirked a little bit, "Most of the time, yes. However, people have surprised me countless times over in the centuries that I've been alive, so some of these new comers could surprise me as well." He lifted a shoulder; it was the truth to him, pure and simple. Ash did not believe that either of them had been through some of the things he'd be subjected to that gave him his lack of faith in people. "I do not lack complete faith in people, Legolas. I might be jaded, yes, but I am the only thing standing between the people of my world and their destruction. So I think I have a little bit of a reason to be a little tired after spending so much time protecting them." In fact, he was supposed to be the end of his world, but he would do everything within his power to keep that from happening.

Ash sighed, "I can read anything thrown at me. Your thoughts, emotions, and so on. Unless those powers become locked." He held up a hand, "I promise though, that I do not like to pry so your thoughts are your own. Like the beings that built this place, I too am a god so powers come with the package." Reaching up he rubbed his temple with a long finger, "And trust me, I had nothing to do with bringing us here. I do feel one god's handiwork on this place, and he's a constant pain in my ass." He rolled his eyes, dropping his hand back down to his side. He glanced over at Legolas, with a nod. "Yes, those will do just fine. Simple gestures, and if more are needed we'll cross that bridge when we get there."

He shifted on his feet and shook his head at Kakashi's question. "No, I doubt it will be found within the confines of this mansion. Her fingerprints are not on it, and there will be hell to pay when I return to her." He reached up, fingers brushing lightly over his neck as if to make sure that the scar he bore was hidden.

Dropping his hand again he nodded slowly, "That is fine with me, if it is alright with you, Kakashi. I can explore wherever you two do not wish to go. If anyone checks the basements though, know that you'll run into others down there. They are confused, and I think they have been sent to help us in some way." He shrugged his shoulders again, not caring where he went really. He could take anything that the mansion could throw at him, he was sure of that for the moment at least.

Could a place like this even be controlled? He frowned at the idea of being left alone if something did happen to the other two. Help would be appreciated, but what kind of help could they expect to come? If it was true that this was all a game to someone, then the help sent would be useless to no help at all. If competent help did arrive, that would be very good as then he could draw back into the shadows and work from his own grounds like he always did. None of this ‘show and act’ front stage stuff. He hated covert-op missions. Always did everything he could to avoid them.

“There is one other signal that we should have. Friend or foe. Some sign to distinguish if we should be cautious of the new arrival or not. A simple thumbs up or down after the doorway could possibly work.”

Kakashi raised a brow at Ash’s mention of being a god. Did they really even exist? Yes, there were many people who clamed to be gods or goddesses from his home country, but all of them were just normal humans with an illusion of grandeur. Easily extinguished. But for one to actually be able to read minds and such, Kakashi wasn’t sure if he could trust Ash’s words that he would stay out. He looked over at him wirily like the guy was going to suddenly reveal he was Orochimaru or Itachi, people he didn’t want to deal with.

He nodded at Ash’s statement. “I’m going to check the outside grounds. Past the barns and around the woods. That leaves the upper floors and the other outbuildings.” In actuality, he just wanted to have a reason to get away from the mansion and the caged in feeling he got standing in the hallway. Any connection to the outside was be better. At least his room had a nice size window. He was going to be spending lots of time sitting near it if things continued to progress the way they were.

Legolas listened as the other two talked. His brows drew together, he felt no running water on the island, at least not big enough for a bridge or close enough to have to cross right then. He looked at Acheron, "Where is this bridge that we must cross?" It must be the language barrier, that had to be what was spoken of as a bridge. He shook his head, "Odd sayings, you were talking of the signs?"

He watched Kakashi for a moment, nodding as he talked about friend or foe. "I hope that there are more friends than there are foes. I feel a few friends in this place already, ones I know well." Legolas canted his head to the side, "One may turn foe, or seem foe, but he is quite harmless. The other is a young wizard." He smiled softly, glad that there were people from his world here. At least he felt more at home with them here. Even is one was Smeagol and the other not known by him other than name and feel. He had often tracked the wizard through elven lands.

His eyes drifted from one o the other. "I will begin with the lower levels." He moved off, his feet carrying him lightly and swiftly across the ground. Looking back at the other two he gave them a smile. "Be careful and wise?" His eyes flashed with laughter, his lips curling up in the corners mildly.

Ash nodded at Kakaashi's suggestion for a friend or foe signal. "That works for me. Simple, reminds me of Roman times though." He smirked a little, shaking his head with a light chuckle. Ash could feel the shift in Kakashi's emotions, but it was better to have it out in the open than to have them find out later. He wasn't this Orochimaru or Itachi that Kakashi thought him to be, but he didn't know if he could make Kakashi believe that. He wouldn't outright lie to either one of them. Withhold the truth, yes, but outright lie? No. He was an Oracle, so if he saw anything about their future he couldn't really tell them now could he?

Ash couldn't help but chuckle, "It is only a saying, Legolas. It means that when we come to a problem we'll deal with it then. There will be many more sayings like that, and if the need arises I will tell you what they mean." He nodded and canted his head softly to the side as Legolas spoke. "I can see the one you speak of. He'll be fine unless his other personality takes control." Ash would make sure that that didn't happen. There would be flashes of his former self, but only because Ash couldn't completely stamp those out.

He nodded as the two of them decided on which ways to go. "So I'll take the higher levels." He nodded, pushing away from the wall and glanced back at the Elf as he started off. "Same to you. If anyone does run into any trouble, give a yell. I'll be there as quickly as I can be." He gave both of the men a quick nod before he started off toward the upper levels of the mansion to explore.

Kakashi watched as the two wondered off in their separate directions, waiting a moment before heading back to his room for a second. Doing a quick scan of the place, he set his bag down and retrieved some seal paper and an ink brush from it. Moving over to the window he used the natural lighting as he scribbled down scrawled writing onto the seals. He blew lightly on the ink to get it to set faster before placing them in hidden spots near and around the window and door. Once checking they were in place and sticking, he raised his hands and flew through a set of seals engrained into his memory. He did the jutsu for each one activating them in a precise order. These would be his safe guard, something to ensure others didn’t get in and if they did, the traps would be released unless it was himself that entered.

Finally satisfied with the set up, he shouldered his pack again and left the room, pausing a second to activate the last seal on the outside of the door. He sighed and pushed off quickly jogging down the stairs and out the door ready to get back out to a more normal situation, if such a thick forest near the beach could ever be considered normal.
