One moment, the sound of the twisters, the dull rush of wind and earth and his own heartbeat in his ears, the crack of a column falling, what very well may be his own voice screaming and then -- this. Pants wet, socks wet, shoes wet, no column falling, but the fall of water from a fountain. Lex dimly wondered if it was his fountain but a quick glance and no, it wasn't his, nor any fountain that he knew.
He wondered if maybe, maybe, he should have red sparkly shoes on, click them together, and think 'There's no place like home,' but his shoes weren't red and his name wasn't Dorothy. Though if Toto showed up, or anyone else for that matter, he just might have to run screaming or hit someone, it was hard to tell. It might depend entirely on their size relative to him, though.
Stepping out of the fountain, he removed his socks and shoes, frowned at the fact that the shoes really were a favorite pair, comfortable yet dressy enough for him to wear into work, and tried to wring the water out of his pant legs as much as possible. It didn't help much, but it made him feel a little better before he started walking towards the mansion. If nothing else, he was going to get some answers.
