“GET THE HELL OFF ME!”
Shinn wasn’t happy. Sure, he was in a glorious mansion, and he had just slept for a good long while in the most comfortable bed ever, but these damn fairy things were everywhere. They were even more annoying than Lacus’s Haros! Shinn still didn’t know how Athrun had time to make all the damn things or how Kira put up with them. But then, Shinn didn’t know how either of them did a lot of things they did. That’s why he was working with them now. To learn.
And he had learned quite a bit. Given the Destiny’s armaments, it was quite hard to merely disable the enemy instead of destroying them, but Shinn had gotten quite good at it. Although, there were still times, like the day before, where he was forced to destroy his opponents. Destiny just wasn’t capable of disabling with the speed he needed to stop them. Apparently it wasn’t fast enough at destroying either, because that missile had nearly hit. Maybe it HAD hit…
Shinn pushed that thought to the back of his mind. Though he had managed to sleep, the image of the colony exploding had haunted his dreams, so he wasn’t in a good mood. He reminded himself that he had no way of knowing whether it hit or not, and that Kira was on the colony, and thus some sort of miracle had probably occurred. That tended to happen with him. Shinn couldn’t count all the times people had made jokes about “Jesus Yamato.” The thought of Kira pulling through yet again comforted him. After that, Shinn had slipped on a pair of blue jeans and a white t-shirt he had found in his room’s closet, along with, surprisingly, his ZAFT Red jacket. Dressed, he had picked up his map and followed it straight to the hangar.
Why this mansion even HAD a hangar was beyond Shinn. Unless it really was like the man had said, and it had appeared yesterday. Upon entry, Shinn found the Destiny was indeed there, but it wasn’t upright like it should be. It was on its back, on a large maintenance platform. Its legs were there too. Unfortunately, they were still separated from the body. In addition, Shinn found the Destiny’s missing weapons (the anti-ship sword, beam rifle, and shield, although that one wasn’t really a weapon) were there too, waiting to be re-equipped once the Destiny was upright again.
“Well…” said Shinn, swatting a fairy (the damn things were everywhere, not just his room), “guess I better get to work…”
