Who: Evangeline & Diego Where: The Witching Hour,Gatestown When: Late Afternoon What: Setting Up Shop
It had only been a few days since she’d made the decision. The estate agent had conducted all of the business, hired the work crews, and managed all of her business thus far. This had allowed her to remain in Italy and take care of her father’s possessions, either selling them off or packing them to take with her. It took a surprisingly short time to finalize her father’s life and deal with his belongings. For Eve, this was bittersweet. Now she was leaving her home for a second time. Granted this was her choice, while her exile from the Gitano Tribe had been forced upon her. Still, she could not fathom staying here with the ghost of her father’s memory around every corner. Thus the choice to find a new life all over again. She had always said she wanted an adventure… and this would be an adventure indeed. In Pala she would hardly know the language, her English was not so good, and she knew no one… Yet she lifted her chin and boarded the plane… her new life awaited.
In Gatestown her agent had procured an old Victorian style home which had already been renovated by the work crews to act as her shop. It held a large space with items for sale, ingredients for spells and meditations. Additionally there was a room for ritual work and spell casting, as well as, a room in which she would do her readings. The second floor had been turned into a spacious apartment in which she would live. Throughout the two week process the foreman had sent her pictures and she was pleased with the result. The store itself was decorated in silks and veils and various enchanted charm work, with large bay windows filled with cushions to sit upon. The upstairs had been decorated to resemble the tents of the Gitano. She liked it all very much. So even though her heart was heavy with the loss of her father when she stepped off the plane in Pala she was feeling a little thrill of excitement for her new life.
Today would be the first day she would open the doors for customers. There was still so much to do, but the shop itself was serviceable. The sound system played throughout the house, Tibetan Monks singing, softly filled the space. Eve was working in the Reading Room, arranging the various stones and gems she used in the large floor to ceiling glass faced cabinet that had been built for just this purpose. If anyone entered the chime above the door would sound, but for now she sang softly in the language of her youth and concentrated on organizing the cabinet.
