18-year-old Yuta recently moved to Los Angeles under the guise of attending UCLA to major in Languages with a goal of becoming an interpreter upon graduation. His mother is one of the infamous aunts that tried to force Vicky into an arranged marriage a few months earlier. Yuta disagreed with what they were trying to do, but knew that there was nothing that he could do about it at the time. He also knew that the family would not assist him in trying to get in contact with Vicky, so instead, he waited, biding his time, until he was accepted to UCLA.
Currently, Yuta resides in the dorms on campus. He is, naturally, focused on his studies, already having a good start, being fluent in Mandarin, Japanese, and English. He will be studying Spanish and French in his first year. Most of his spare time at the moment is devoted to his search to find his cousin to let her know that not all of her family is as money-hungry as his mother and their other aunt. His parents are paying for his education, as well as his boarding at the dorms, plus a monthly allowance for food and other necessities.
Yuta is quiet around people he doesn't know, but easily makes friends. His is notorious for picking up on things fast (part of the reason languages interest him), though he often loses interest just as fast, once things stop being a challenge. He enjoys both surfing and soccer, in terms of physical activities. He also has an unusual interest in, of all things, shirts, which can be seen in the rather extensive collection of novelty and concert t-shirts he owns.
