With constant napping Buffy had found herself waking up at different times throughout the day, unaware of where they were. Every time, the sun was in a different position. She was never sure of their location state-wise but she assumed they were going in the right direction. She never saw Sam use a map. But maybe he had while she napped.
Now it was night, and Sam had wordlessly pulled up and into an old motel. It reminded her of the movie Psycho. It was odd the way he said he'd get them two rooms. That's what prompted her to spring to life - opening her side of the car door and wobbling out. She chased after him at a half-run, adjusting the sunglasses she'd pushed up on her head. "Hey, I don't think we really need two. I mean...unless it weirds you out and you think I snore. Which, I want to make clear that I totally don't." A smile.
"But seriously...it's just a waste of money. They might have twin beds, even. It won't be weird. That cool? I've got some cash but I don't have any kind of paying job at the moment, so there's not an endless supply. Hunters can't make that much either." She'd backed him into a corner. He had to give-in and share a room or risk looking paranoid. Which would certainly be saying something about he felt towards the girl standing before him.
The guy standing behind the desk was old, with glasses that had fingerprints visible on them. He spoke up now, to Sam. "I can't believe you'd turn down the chance to spend the night with this sweet doll. Honey if he says no, you come see me." A wink to Buffy.
This caused Buffy to give Sam an imploring look. Tilting so her back was towards the desk she said lowly in a half-joked sort of way, "Seriously, I don't want that guy sneaking into my room because he thinks I'm alone and vulnerable. I thought you offered body guard services, anyway?" Not that a Vampire Slayer exactly needs them, but that's a technicality.
