"I've never thought so, but I didn't know I was hers until after I was dead and I tend to avoid those memories," he said quietly as he steadied his hands and put the broom aside.

He looked at the man with a such a mixed expression: hope and longing blended with a terrible kind of guilt. Ted was dead and now he'd jump upon the first sighting of blue diamonds?
"Don't leave," he asked. "Just don't leave, please. I'm sorry I drew my wand. It's been a, well, a bit of a day."
He nodded to the papers.
"It wouldn't exactly be surprising for someone to try something on me right now."
