My mun's discussed this with a couple of others and has been informed that she should make it an OOC post. So here we are.
Basically, she's got it into her head that Númenor is culturally like Scotland (or possibly Scotireland). Because of this, she's started coming up with real world analogues for places in Númenor.
Armenelos: Cultural and political centre, royal seat, sits on a huge fuck-off extinct volcano mountain, sucks up most of the money, thinks it's better than everyone else = Edinburgh.
Rómenna: Crowded, busy, most important port in economic terms, massive shipyards, essentially friendly and welcoming and full of people for whom their favourite pass-time is getting drunk and singing about how much they miss their homeland (despite the fact that they're usually in it while they do so). This is often followed by an enthusiastic round of head-butting. If you do find yourself on the receiving end, one of them will happily take you to hospital after concussing you because it's just the decent thing to do. You'll probably get asked if you fancy a kebab and/or a deep-fried chocolate bar afterwards = Glasgow.
Andúnië: Formerly small, economically unimportant port town. Suddenly found itself as the most important port in the country because of oil the King's incredibly ill-advised plot to invade the West = Aberdeen
Eldalondë: Superb natural harbour, renowned for being picturesque, ships of the elves often arrived there i.e. it's a fucking tourist trap = St. Andrews.
Nisimaldar: Near Eldalonde, pretty, rural, lots of trees = Central belt.
Emerië: Sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep = Grampian.
North Cape: Holy crap, look at the size of those cliffs, they are shitting HUGE, I bet it's windy up there. "Watch out for those rocks." What rocks? I don't see any ro- *SMASH* = Neist Point.
Nindamos: Miserable, out of the way port town surrounded by dreary marshes. No one gives two shits about this place = Dundee
