| About: |  The Middle Path is a game centering around St. Gregory's School. The school is located in the hills of Virginia and was formed by Warren Worthington and Sean Cassidy in 1997. There was never a Xavier's School for the Gifted nor were there ever X-Men. They are, primarily, a school first and foremost with a mutant superhero team being second. The game is based around interpersonal interaction with occasional explosions. The Game will start January 9th 1) Read the FAQ. This is not optional. You're really going to need it 2) Your character can be a student (high school or taking college classes through telecommuting with the University of Virginia), a member of Black Air, a Teacher, or some combination of two of the three. 3) Though Marvel has quite a few AU characters wandering around the main universe, we're going to ask that any AU or Alien characters be rewritten to fit into this universe: where there are no aliens or AUs. 4) Be aware that for the sake of smooth game play we may ask you to 'tone down' or remove crack from your profile to make it believable in a real world situation. Or as real world as mutant super heroes can be. Yes, even if it's canon. 5) Please be aware that we are not allowing telepathy as a power. If your character canonly has TP then emphasize one of their other powers. They will not be allowed telepathy. 6) Remember to play to your profile Decide who you want to play. Go here and claim them without your name attached: we don't want to know who you are for the application process. If you want more than one character claim each one with a new comment. Decide on an avatar/PB. Go here, make sure they're not already in use and make a claim. If you're claiming more than one use separate comments. Pick a room. Go here, make sure it's not already picked and make a claim. If you're claiming more than one use separate comments. Make a character journal. This is where it gets complicated. Fill out the Character Sheet appropriate to your character. Student. Team. Teacher. If your character fits more than one of these categories pick the last one that's appropriate. [IE: If you have a college student who is also an Team Member, pick the Team app. If you have a Teacher who is also a Team Member, pick the teacher application] Make sure you remove the *s. This is Publicly Known Information about your character IC. We ask that you please add to it as information about your character becomes known or it's something they would have shared even if it hadn't come out IC. [For instance. Warren has probably not told anyone his parent's names. If anyone wants to know then they do know.]. Request membership to The Middle Path and OOC X. If we approve your membership requests you've been accepted and are ready to play. We will paste the profile you emailed us in the mod journal f-locked to your character journal. Please remember to play to your profile. If you wish to add or change anything about your profile note it in the comments to that post or pm us. Once a profile is approved the semi-anonymous nature of the application disappears and we need players to respond to the contract information post. We have a friend all button that we keep up to date with each new character. Please don't use the button until you're approved. Please don't friend someone until they've been approved to the comms. If we have questions or problems with your application we'll ask for clarification/changes. X: This game allows for graphic violence and sexual situations. If you're not 18, don't join. If you can't handle that, don't join. X: There are some subjects that due to their incendiary nature will be moderated. These subjects are: rape, child abuse, torture, suicide and self-mutilation due to depression. More subjects may be added as necessary. X: Keep IC drama IC. This should be a given but just in case it's not, we're telling you. Don't bitch about IC things OC. It's bad. X: Please use appropriate warnings and cut tags for graphic sex, violence, and other not-work-safe material. X: PBs can be only used once. X: Our character cap at present is 3 characters. X: All Characters are required to post to their journals once a week. Closed Third Persons do count to this. However, all characters are also required to play- interact in an rp with another character- once a month. If you miss two activity checks without giving notice we're going to poke you about your desire to keep the character. If you find you don't have a muse or are having trouble updating, talk to us- or drop the character. That really is fine. No one will bitch about you dropping a character. X: If a character causes constant disruption in game flow they will be warned. If they continue to cause disruption after the warning they will be removed. X: Please get permission OOC before using powers on another character. X: Be aware that for the sake of smooth game play we may ask you to 'tone down' or remove crack from your profile. Yes, even if it's canon. This is especially important in the case of telepaths- we are not allowing telepaths to be in play. X: Play must be in third person, past tense. Once an open is replied to, it is closed to those two characters unless another is invited to join. However, if there's a post in a public area marked 'open to all' feel free to join that however/whenever/with whoever you want. Feel free to start those. X: We don't have a lot of rules. Please don't break the few we do have. It'll make us cranky. No one likes cranky mods.
