Austin was walking through town, thinking about applying to places for a part time job when he noticed her. She was walking on the other side of the street, headed for the coffee shop and Austin found himself actually whimpering as she walked away.
What was wrong with him? Never in his life had anyone caused him this much... what even was this? What was it about her that made her unforgettable? He didn't know but something in him told him he needed to follow her. It was probably a good thing he was impulsive, other wise he'd have to seriously rethink things and that took far too long and who the hell had time for that? Not Austin.
He recalled the way his cousin had acted. Kind of brisk about her. He'd said her name was Veronica Tanner but everyone called her Ronnie. He liked that. It was really cute but he dropped the subject and decided not to ask further because of the way Kyle acted. Something was definitely up there but it wasn't his business. Not if Kyle wasn't offering.
Even so, he couldn't get her out of his mind and now he had seen her again. This was as good a sign as any--not that Austin believed in things like signs and superstitions--and it was that that had him crossing the street and heading into the shop.
He looked around, finding her standing in line to order. His eyes scanned her and he smiled to see her so dressed up. He wondered where she was going that she needed to dress so formally. Then he realized he was staring and decided that if he was going to keep looking at her, he should probably talk to her. Less creepy. Definitely.
He headed for the line, slipping behind her and suddenly, he didn't know what to do or say. Luckily for him, she glanced behind her and he smiled.
"Hi. I'm Austin and I just moved here."
What the hell? He groaned inwardly.
"Sorry... that was weird, wasn't it? I should... I should just go."
