Austin walked with her, heading in the direction of the coffee shop. He listened to her explain her issues in getting there and nodded. Travel always had its complications, as he knew well. He loved to travel but moving was another story. Once he got settled in, he figured he'd be okay but he'd lived in Texas all his life so this was a big deal for him. It had its ups and its downs, and the road trip had been fun with his younger sister, but now it was time to get back in the swing of living. He'd have to start looking for a job soon until he decided on what to do about college.
"Highway 21. My cousin's Kyle Miller, the bassist." He didn't mind people knowing his cousin. He was glad for Kyle that things were going so well for him and the band. He knew his band mates too. They weren't best friends or anything but he knew them well enough to say they were definitely part of the extended Miller family. They were also amazing people. Kyle couldn't have had better people in his life.
When they came to the intersection, he crossed with her when it was safe. His attention was on her and he listened as she spoke once again.
