He waved off the cookie, he couldn't eat at the moment anyway, his stomach was in knots, and he offered a bit of a grin that was a slight grimance at her remark about it being hot. but he had deserved that right?
He nodded when she told him about LA, honestly, he kinda figured that it was good, and he probably would have asked another question that totally had nothing to do with why he'd invited her to coffee only then she asked.
He winced a bit, and rubbed the back of his neck, a nervous gesture as he looked down at his cup before looking back up at her.
"Well, at first it really sucked." he told her softly. "What with jail and court and all... but then I got to hang out with my siblings, and uhm.. work out the issues with my mom and step-dad." he shrugged. "So, not as awesome as LA, but you know.... it was okay." he offered softly. he dropped his gaze to the table, and didn't say anything for a moment but before she could answer he spoke softly. "Would have been awesome though to stay in New York with you."
