Who: Millie McPherson and Mrs. Rico (Tony's mom - NPC'd by Dan)
Where: Texas ; Mrs. Rico's house
When: Tuesday afternoon
What: Talking to her, trying to reconcile differences
Status: Complete
Rating: G

After having landed in Texas, Millie had got a taxi from the airport. Thankfully the people with Tony's jet were going to wait on her. After all they thought she was going somewhere else as did Tony. Finally though she made it to the address on her piece of paper. Tony's mother was inside.

And she barely knew what she was going to say. But no matter, she took a deep breath and went up to the door. One last breath and she knocked. Well here went nothing.

The exact said mother, that she was talking about was inside the house. She had received a good portion of the fortune from her belated husband, and she decided to get the hell away from it all. The fact her son was following in her husbands foot steps didn't look good for his future. In fact they had fought about it, and she hadn't actually talked to him sense.

So, when the door was being knocked on. Linda Rico was wondering who in gods name was there. She went to the door, answering it. Seeing the woman at the door, she gave a puzzled look. "Can I help you?"

Millie put on her best non-crazy look and smiled when the door opened. She looked just like Tony in a way. "Ah, hello.. Mrs. Rico? I'm.. Millie. Millie McPherson." Oh now what was she supposed to say? She probably should have sorted and figured all of this out before she had rang the bell, that's what.

"I.. um.. need to talk to you. It's about.. your son." she winced slightly hoping that the door wouldn't be slammed in her face or something.

Linda glared at her. "Is my son dead?" Was all she asked. Not even caring what else she had to say really. When she told her no, the next could of been expected. The door was slammed in the girls face. The woman stepped from the door. Back to it. Pausing some. What was she thinking. Who was this girl?

She shook her head. She was going to regret this. Linda had turned and opened the door back up to still see the girl. "What did you say your name was? Millie. Do you want to come in for some ice tea? This head I'm sure is almost unbareable." She stepped so she could come in.

Her eyebrows raised a bit but she could have expected that, her wondering if he was dead and then getting the door slammed in her face. "Uh, no.." she said briefly, shaking her head and then the door slammed and she winced a bit more. Great, just great. She stood there for a minute, putting her hands in her pockets and sighed. Well she couldn't just give up.

She was about to start knocking on the door again when the door opened up. "Yes, Millie. And he doesn't know .. I'm here. I.. sure, thank you." She went inside, looking around and let her close the door behind them. "To be honest I'm not sure why I'm here. Nothing's wrong really, I just.. I snuck out. I wanted to meet you."

"You're here against Tony's little knowledge?" Linda questioned. "Well, isn't that interesting." She lead Millie through the cool house, to the kitchen bar counter. She went to the fridge and retreived a glass pitcher full of a dark liquid with a few lemon sliced floating around in it. Next a couple glasses. She set them down and poured them both a glass

Sitting down across from Millie, she looked to her. "You must be the personal assistant." She paused. "What are you doing her? What is this all about?"

"Yes, I am. He thinks I'm in New York with.. someone." No need to go into lots of details. To be honest the lady kind of scared her, not that she thought the woman was going to kill her or something but she definitely gave off an air of superiority. She sat down in a chair when she gestured and crossed her arms in front of her.

"I am, yes. I'm.. well like I said I wanted to meet you. He talks about you a lot. And.." well she might as well just be honest about the whole thing. "He misses you alot, and it makes him.. sad. And I don't want him to be sad. People need their family. He need his as much as anyone."

"My, you must have his trust enough, if he isn't checking up on you while you're away." She shook her head. "I don't know what he see's in you. You're obviously dishonest." Yeah, she was very critical. Millie had a way to go to get the trust of the widdow.

"He misses me? And talks about me?" She gave a look like she was crazy. "Really, Millie. That's the best you can come up with."

Millie looked a little flabbergasted. Dishonest? She really looked like a liar? No one had ever told her that before. "But I'm not. Best I can come up with? What exactly do you think I could want? Money? Or.. something else? What possible reason could I be here for? He's not sick or dying. This is just me, trying to find out what happened. He doesn't want to talk about it much, just that you.."

She trailed off and then took a sip of her drink and put it back down. "That you fought and haven't really talked and it was Christmas and he didn't have anyone. And the look on his face.. I just want to help." Her shoulders shrugged. "I don't have any other good explanations other than that."

There was silence placed in the house. Linda stared at Millie for a long moment. Her hazel eyes narrowed and focused on her intently. Her expression was serious, unwavering. It looked like she probably was going to tell her to get out pretty quick.

Then she spoke. "You really care about my son don't you." Tilting her head some, the mother remembered alot of the people her son had been around. The good boys she knew him to co-exist with were the Pitt boys. They oftened offered good examples of what good boys did. She smiled. "So he finally found himself someone good, watch over him." She half smiled. "Tell me more."

Yeah she thought that she was going to be told to get out, and so she braced herself to get up and get out quickly. But she wasn't one to back down, not really. So she met her gaze and though the woman scared her a bit she figured she had to make sure that the woman knew she was telling her the truth.

Her head nodded a bit at her words, "I care about him very much. He's.. he's a really great man. You should be very proud." Sure he had his faults but everyone did, didn't they? When she said that Millie was good and was watching over him, she blushed some and looked away. "Well I'm not sure I'd go.. as far as saying I'm good.. I mean, I dont know, I just care. But I do.. watch over him I guess." More? Well then.

"I don't claim to know what went on with you and Tony," and she'd just called him by his first name even. "That's not really.. my business. But I do know how lonely he is. He sees.. everyone around him having families and he misses his own. I guess.. I just.. my dad died a little more than a year ago. And after that my mom wasn't ever the same. So I get how he feels."

"The fact you're here, Millie says to me you're a good girl for my son to have around. To keep him good." She smiled. "The fact that you're working for him, means that I can be very proud of him. Means he's getting his life a little more straight from boozing and those skanky women." She laughed. Yeah, she knew her son.

"So, what exactly does this have to do with you being here, drinking ice tea with me in my home?" She paused. "He can pick up the phone and call his mother. I'll talk to him. Unconditional love after all."

"Well I'll try," she smiled back. "He's.. working on it. I won't lie. He still.. does that sort of thing on ocassion but not as much as he used to. I think he's starting to realize that his priorities have changed. Though that's only.. me speculating really. But I will say that I am making sure he behaves himself." That much was true.

Her shoulders shrugged, "He doesn't think he can pick up the phone and call you. He thinks that you.. hate him, I think. That you don't want anything to do with him because.. he said something about you thinking he's going to be just like his father. I don't know what that means, and I don't.. care, really. I just mean that he's.. not going to be like anyone because he's his own person. I was just hoping to understand, hear your side of the story. and do.. whatever it takes to make sure he's not sad anymore."

Lind listend to the assistant talk about her son. He was turning into a good man. A man to do their name proud, and his father. His father would of been very proud at this point of their son. She was. Linda smiled. "Good, smack that boy if you have too." The woman laught a loud.

"Well. I'll tell you what. You convinced me. I'll call him later tonight, and I wont even mention that you were here. I'll let you tell him that." She reached out and took the younger woman's hand. "You're a good kind hearted girl. Tony is lucky to have you around. I'm glad I came back and opened the door for you again." She smiled. "I missed my baby boy."

Millie laughed again, "I'll remember that and if he complains I'll tell him that I got permission from his mom." Well not really, but it would be fun. And she'd definitely smack him. Because sometimes he needed it really. And they both knew it. "Really?" she looked a bit hopeful up at Tony's mother.

"Thank you.. so much. I just.. I know how bad it is to almost lose.. both parents and that's something no one should have to do until.." she trailed off and looked away but then gave her her hand. "He's really missed you too. Thank you for talking to me. I promise you won't regret it."

Linda laughed. "YOu do that. Then hit his thick head again for me." He laughed lightly as she shifted in her chair. Looking to her watch, she looked at the time. "Oh dear. Would you like to come with me. I'm going to play some bingo at the country club with some friends. I'd love for you to join me. I think I'd like to hear more about my boy, and what he's doing with his life." She smiled some to the girl. Why couldn't Tony marry a nice girl like this. That's what she wanted at least.

"Will do," she gave a little salute, grinning. "Bingo? Oh yeah I would love to play Bingo." It wasn't like they were expecting her or anything. They were waiting for her, not the other way around. And they didn't know where she'd gone. "I'd be happy to. Let me just call the.. pilot, I kind of.. took the jet. Well he gave me the jet, I just . told him I was going somewhere else. I'll be right back."

A moment later she' d came back after telling the pilot she'd just be a bit longer, and for him to go out and have dinner or something. Then she came back, looking much better. "All right all set to go."
