Source: Cato takes Demeter up on the offer for a safe space to try out his untested powers as a god. It goes swimmingly, minus a few flukes, and the two bond over shared memories of the dead king with promises to look more to the future.

The beach was fairly deserted today in Miami.  It was early enough in the morning that the air still had just enough of a chill to keep away most casual visitors.  Demeter was leaning against a wooden fence as she sat at the end of a pier, one leg folded under her while the other hung off the edge, swinging idly as she stared out across the ocean.  She had a thin knit shawl wrapped around her shoulders to keep her body warm, though she still felt cold for reasons other than the temperature.

She’d asked her eldest daughter to meet her here today.  She wanted to talk to Persephone about the recent revelation she’d gained from Hera.  However, while she wanted to talk to her daughter alone, she did not want to hold the conversation in the Grove.  So she chose this spot.  With the sound of the waves lapping at the pier and the endless horizon to lose one’s gaze in, it helped soothe Demeter’s still raw nerves.

All she could do right now was wait.

Summary: Madeline is out doing errands when she stops at the Jube hotel. To her poor fortune, June is there at the front desk, and recognizes her. This needs into... discussions. That probably needed to be had.

Summary: Demeter’s children arrive to visit their mother at her newly completed Grove the day after Zale’s official birthday. There, she reveals more about what she’s been through the last two years, and then she gives both her children gifts of a supernatural nature. Her son’s birthday gift is of a more drastically reality-altering variety, should he choose to actually use it. Afterwards, the three go for a picnic in the beautiful, but surreal woods which guard the earth goddess’s home.

Summary: Zale has noticed a change in his mother's happiness recently, and figured out that Uncle Zeus was the source of it. Then, unknowingly, the god's nephew reveals a secret that his mother had been keeping from everyone till now.

Summary: Still moving Demeter around to keep the Greeks off this tail, Haru makes what his arguably the worst decision of his career ever -- to take her to the hotel of Trystan Jube. Zeus spots her right off the bat and, after a tearful reunion with his sister, proceeds to get violent with her godson.

Summary: Having learned of the attacks -- and understandably pissed for not being let in on the joke, har har -- and goes about finding Deme the only way he can at the moment. Via dreamscape. The two have a heartfelt reunion, Deme frets about everyone else while Zeus promises repeatedly to gut out people, all the while being quite clingy. The two part with a kiss and a promise on Zeus' part to check on her son.

Summary: Demeter meets her captor face to face and is stunned to find out he's a person from her past. After this shock to both their systems, they manage to strike a bargain to win the freedom of two of the three who had been kidnapped.
