Who: Helene, Josephine, [OPEN]
When: Saturday. July 06, 1867 (about 9am)
Where: The Bank
Summary: After enjoying her early morning ride Helene starts work, as it’s only a Saturday she thinks it will be a slow day…

Helene felt fresh and awake as she got the bank ready for the next four hours. She was glad she had gotten up earlier, giving her enough time to take her horse Flo out to watch the beautiful sunrise, she even had enough time to take Flo back to her stables and changed into her working outfit. There weren’t many co-workers in on a Saturday, they can’t understand why they should. Mister Grayson needed help only for a few hours, what harm could it do? Clearing a few scattered papers on some desks she made her way to the customer service, glancing at the clock, the first customer should be coming any minute now…

Josie had left Benjamin sleeping sound, and peacefully, in his bed. She'd only be gone for a few moments time, and would be back before the little boy woke to even notice she had been gone for a brief length of time.

Things concerning Henry had finally been settled, the bank where they had a joint account had finally seen fit to forward a bank draft to Josie in New Shelby. It was the reason behind her early morning venture to the bank. And the sooner she got the draft transferred to an account in the New Shelby bank the better she would feel. It wouldn't leave them anywhere near wealthy, but at least Josie would have some funds available to her should the need arise.

While Josie was en route to the bank, the draft tucked safely into the side pocket of her skirt, two men entered the New Shelby Trust. Scarves were pulled up to conceal most of the features of the faces as the doors were closed. One man lingered in the vicinity of the entrance while the other strode over to the counter. A third was stationed outside, giving the false impression that he was adjusting the straps of his saddle when in actuality he was the small gang of outlaws lookout that morning.

"I'd be much obliged if you'd fill this bag to capacity." He told Helene as an cloth bag was tossed onto the flat surface before the woman. As far as they could tell the woman was the only one present in the bank at the moment, and that suited the outlaws quite well. It'd make the robbing of the place all that much simpler and quicker.

Nate was making his rounds throughout the town, and all seemed to be pretty quiet. He thought so, at least. It was unusual to have much trouble these days, now that the Dooger gang was laying low. At least, that's what he was told, since he hadn't been in town when Dooger had been wreaking havok on the people of Shelby.

He was on the boardwalk across from the bank, and gave a passing glance over to the building. There was a stranger in front, and try as he might, Nate couldn't place him. He stared at the man, wondering if he knew him and just couldn't place him at the time, or if, indeed, the man was new in town.

Not wanting to embarrass himself, and figuring the man had already seen him looking at him, Nate tipped his hat to the stranger and continued on his way.

Still, something was eating at him. Like he should know who that man was... or at least should go introduce himself.

Shrugging the feeling off as too much worry, Nate continued on the boardwalk.

Helene was busily writing down important notes when she heard a voice asking to fill up a bag, curious, she glanced up with a raised brow to see the man's half faced covered in a scarf. Did they think they were going to rob the bank now? Now out of all hours?

She glanced around, and a quick glanced to the til before looking at the man again "I'm 'friad you have come at a wrong time, we won't have enough money to fill that bag."

"Lady. I didn't come in here only to leave empty handed. Either you put whatever money this here bank has in the bag," and to emphasis his words the masked outlaw picked up the cloth bag and flung it hard at Helene," or I'll be obliged to use this." With ease the man drew his pistol to aim it directly at the woman. His hard look telling her that he in no way would hesitate in making use of his weapon, though he hoped it would only be as a last resort. Firing the pistol inside the bank would only bring unwanted attention, and most likely the law, the small band outlaws way.

And at that moment, the one where the outlaw put a threat to Helene, Josie had just rounded the stagecoach landing and was about to cross the street over to the bank. A slow moving wagon was just passing by which delayed the doctor's crossing for a few seconds.

And the man stationed in front of the bank? Well he started getting antsy. One of the local law had spotted him. If the deputy had just given a brief glance in his direction he would have thought now more about it, but the man had looked across at him for a few good long seconds, and then acknowledged him with a tipping of his hat. The deputy had to know something was up even though he gave the appearance of continuing his walk around the town. If the man's partners weren't out in the next sixty seconds the third outlaw was going to head on into the bank and see what the delay was, and to also inform his "associates" that they may have been made.

At the time she had been working at the bank she had not come face to face with a robbery. She had heard different stories about different robberies of course and she did get a warning or two about the dangers of working at a bank but not once did Helene think it would actually happen to her and on a Saturday of all days! Saturdays were usually quiet for the bank, that is why the other employees couldn’t bare working that day so Grayson had stored most of their money away, and no he did not tell everyone the lock number considering he would always be there, but this time was different he went off for a quick errand. And Helene was not supposed to be the only one working today, but as usual her co-worker for today was running late.

“I will see what we have.” Helene informed, she had absolutely no idea how to act towards an outlaw, and did anyone in her state did? She quickly glanced outside but no one familiar was in view, she then bent down and grabbed a pile of cash, standing up straight, she placed each slump on the bench at a time “That’s all we have.” Which of course, was a lie, but what else was Helene to do? She certainly did not want Grayson and the bank to go broke.

"In the bag." The man, who was becoming quite irritated with Helene, motioned with the barrel of his gun toward the bag still on the desk. "And make sure it's all you've got, Lady."

Josie finally made it across the street, and in her rush to get her business done and return to the boarding house before Benjamin woke up had Josie distracted enough that she didn't take note of the third gang member stationed outside the bank.

Inside the bank she walked only realizing belatedly she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Josie tried backtracking slowly in the hopes that she hadn't been noticed, and with the thought that she'd be able to get help. But she soon found her escape blocked as she felt herself backing up into someone.

"Leaving so soon beautiful." Josie heard a second before she felt an arm catch her roughly around the waist.

"Think we got a bit of trouble coming, boys." The man said as his arm tightened further around Josie's waist so that she was pressed up quite snug against him as he moved them further into the bank. The doctor to shocked at the moment to offer up any resistance to the man's hold on her. "Saw the law outside."

"I swear it's all we have." As soon as she said swear she felt guilty, there was times where Helene could hide her true feelings well and there were other times when she couldn't, and she hoped that she was able to hide them well today, for the banks sake. If they were to get anymore money, no doubt she would be fired for letting them get away with so much. She continued putting the money into the bag.

They were then interupted by another member of this gang, how many exactly where there? Her heart skipped a beat as she saw him grab a hold of the blonde woman, whom Helene knew of well. They should not be bringing Josie into this, it did not concern her "You don't need her and you think you could possibly get away with this?" She spoke up glaring to the man in front of her holding the bag.

Then they mentioned the law outside there was hope and she hoped it was her brother, if it were, if he were not busy he may just as well pop in to see his sister. She wanted to warn the outlaws that her relative his amongst the law but decided against it, it may cost her.

One of the days that Dax had actually decided to take his horse out for a ride was today. It was too fucking hot to walk around like he had been the rest of the week, so he might as well but the strain on a horse that could easily enjoy it better than he did. The horse's strut was slow, taking Dax up and down the strip of businesses and other various buildings in town. He had a smoke tucked away in his lips that he had been puffing on for about ten minutes. Several times he passed the inn, restaurant, saloon, and the bank, and each time its surroundings were the same. Until now.

Someone had been standing at the door to the bank for quite a long time. Dax stopped, seated on his horse on the opposite side of the street, glaring passed the dirt road and to this fellow who was so god damn fidgety he probably didn't even realize it. Something was not right, but something about this was familiar to Dax. All too familiar. He watched for as long as he could; he had all the time in the world to keep an eye on this oddity. Then the blond had passed, making her way into the bank only a few feet before turning to leave - in which at that time the man who had been standing outside followed her in, stopping her in her tracks and disappearing into the bank.

The gears in Dax's head should have been working now, but the spark was not bright enough to make it click that Dax knew what was going on. He should know - he's done it before. Instead, he sat there, still waiting to see what would happen next like watching a show on stage.

"I told you this was a bad idea." The third man said, the one who'd been pretty much quiet up until this moment. "We should have gone after that bank in Bernardino." He grumbled in his stalk toward the front of the bank to shoot a glance out one of the windows to see if, like his associate had claimed, the law was outside ready and waiting for them to depart the bank.

"Don't see no law, just some cowboy sittin a top a horse with his sight on this place." A tin star hadn't been seen pinned to the man's chest, a good indication that he wasn't with the local law. But that didn't mean he wouldn't give trouble should they try and leave the bank at this point.

"I think we need some reassurance that we won't get shot at on our way out, boys." Law or not, anyone sitting horseback and watching the bank was taken as a possible threat.

"Move." The one holding the bag of loot motioned with a wave of his gun for Helene to get out from behind the desk and make tracks for the door. With his gun aimed at her the outlaw thought it doubtful she'd make a break for it. Especially seeing as she seemed to know the other woman they had in their clutches.

"Please." Josie started when the realization of the robbers intent hit her. "I have a son. He just lost his father, don't make it so he looses his mama as well." She pleaded, Josie started struggling against the hold the man had on her, hoping her words touch a bit of compassion and/or understanding within the outlaws. If they were swayed even in the slightest way maybe they would release both her and Helene, cause in all truthfulness she wasn't going to leave the other woman alone within the hands of the small band of outlaws.

"Hear that boys," the one holding Josie sneered, "little Miss Feisty here is man-less. Think she'd take to an outlaw." He grinned maliciously.

"Guess that's why she's dressed all in black." The one with the loot sneered back while waiting for Helene to make the wise choice to make tracks for the bank's front entrance.

Helene tok her hands away from the bag and jumped a bit backwards when the outlaw told her to move, she sighed and did as she was told, maybe if she kept quiet this'll be all over, that's when they started talking about Josie, you cant really say Josie and Helene were friends but they knew of each other and Helene knew Josie had a young boy.

As she stepped around the counter she faced the outlaw "Let her go, she's got nothing to do with this bank and don't worry bout the law they'll be here soon enough." She felt smug that she had actually let those words slip from her lips, after all these were outlaws, but she didn't know how quiet dangerous they were.

Nate still felt nervous about that man back at the bank. He figured if anyone had business there, he would probably know them... So he walked back down the boardwalk, slowly, trying not to draw attention to himself. But the man wasn't there. His horse still was, though, which made Nate even more curious.

He gave some thought to heading over, but decided against it for the time being. Right now, he'd just keep an eye out.

The front door of the bank creaked open followed by the man holding Josie, and shielding himself behind her, stepped them both out onto the boardwalk with the muzzle of the gun held lightly to the blonde's temple. They were trailed out by the third outlaw, and then the apparent leader of the outlaw gang of three and Helene. The third one to exit the bank hooked an arm around Helene's neck with the barrel of his gun pressed into the dark haired woman's side. Where there was one man watching the bank, there'd likely be others, and using the women as human shields lessened their chances of getting shot at.

"If you don't want your women folk harmed it'd be advisable not to make any attempts in following us." The man shielded behind Helene making eye contact with Dax as he spoke, the cowboy on horseback seemed to have made it his business to keep a watch on the bank.

With their women hostages the outlaws made a move for their horse still unaware that at that moment Nate was in a slow walk back toward the bank. Once the women were mounted up outlaw one and two would swing up onto the their saddles behind Josie and Helene, the third outlaw taking to his mount so as to be able to provide cover for his two associates should the need arise.

By the time the intruders had made their way out of the bank, Dax had already removed his rifle from his back. It lay across his lap, his gloved hands clutching it tightly while his eyes narrowed. How dare they try and rob the bank here. How dare they step foot into New Shelby and expect that they leave scott-free. Sure, they had two women hostage, but that wasn't going to stop him from catching them... With the help of his fellow gang members.

Where in the hell was he going to find Donnie, and in a timely manner? Dax twisted his fist around the barrel of his gun, shifting his gaze left to right. "Fuck," he mumbled through bared teeth, then shot his gaze back to the men. His horse, however, felt a bit uneasy as though he also wanted a piece of them. He trampled at the road and started forth. Dax gripped the reins and pulled, stopping the horse only slightly.

If he wasn't able to find Donnie or the others, then he'd have to track these assholes down himself.

Helene gasped when she felt the outlaws barrel around her neck, he wouldn’t have cared how hard it was around there, but she certainly felt it as she tried to loosen it but with now luck.

She had no choice but to be forced outside when the outlaw started making demands to whoever was outside and witnessing the robbery, she then realised who he was demanding to and it was the man she had lunch with sometime back, he was sitting there on his horse looking from side to side as if he was unsure what to do, this raised curiousity surely a man like him wouldn’t hesitate with anything, after all he had his weapon with him.

The outlaw who had Helene forced her to mount up the horse, where she saw Josie doing the same, she mouthed “Are you okay” to the blonde, she then started to worry about Josie’s son and where he was. As she glanced towards Josie she noticed Nate taking an interest, but not being too obvious, she tried to make eye contact for a moment, before she had to ask,

“Where are you taking us?”

Josie gave a light nod in response. Her own well being was the least of her concerns at the moment though. The thoughts first and foremost in her mind were of her son. He had been left alone. She had only intended to be gone for a few moments. And now? Would she ever see him again. That thought alone sent words tumbling from the blonde doctor's mouth without thought of the consequences they would bring.

"Please. You need to let me go. You can't take me away from my son." Josie started struggling against the hold the one outlaw hold on her in an attempt to get away, but that had little effect as it only resulted in the man tightening his hold on Josie and whispered lowly to her. Words which had the blonde stiffening visible with a fearful glance cast around the brief vicinity. She had only one hope in her mind, brief as that notion might be, still had provided her with a glimmer of hope of escaping what the outlaw had insinuated to with his whispering.

"And have it known by the law exactly where we is taking you? Ya think I'm that stupid." The outlaw that had Helene giving a rough laugh at that. He wasn't that stupid of a man as to so easily give away their intended destination. With a light kick of his heels to his mounts flanks the outlaw had his mount moving, slow at first, but the animal would increase it pace to a run with the other two and their second hostage following him out of town.
