Paper House — a Forbidden Game rpg

PAPER HOUSE
You're at a birthday party for your friend. She brought a game, but she can't remember where it came from. You and the others set the board and roll the die. Then everything changes and you're playing the game for real. You can't leave until you face your deepest, darkest fear. Something you haven't told anyone. Something that makes your blood run cold and your muscles tense. This a game for the Shadow Men, but not for you. The only way to win is to overcome your nightmare and make it to the top of the dollhouse. You're not alone but that's not a guarantee for survival. The clock is ticking. You only have until sunrise to finish.
Paper House is a limited-run original character role playing game based on The Forbidden Game trilogy by L. J. Smith. The game will run over the course of 24 weeks. It is a writing-heavy survival game. The game will commence once we have a minimum of 6 characters. Applications will close 4 weeks after.

Islington Prep is one of the best schools in the Eastern United States, and one of the things that Islington prizes above all else is pride: pride in oneself, pride in one's house, and pride in the school. So the fact that the school is slowly but surely heading towards bankruptcy, while not common knowledge, is cause for alarm for those in the know. Because there's a nasty, insidious little rumor that the dip in funds is due to someone dipping their hand in the school's coffers.

Aware of the school's financial difficulties, the local Board of Education has offered to buy the school, which sounds like the ideal solution... except that would mean de-privatizing the school, something many of the students (to say nothing of their parents) are vehemently against. After all, they're paying an exorbitant amount of money in part for the exclusivity and security that Islington affords. There are even those who have gone on record stating that letting in scholarship students was enough of an indignity.

So just what would you do to save your school as you know it? Will you throw yourself into school life harder than ever, hoping that Islington's board will see what a mistake selling the school would be? Or have you heard the rumors, and decided to actively seek the truth about the disappearing money?

******

‘Islington Prep’ is a completely non-supernatural original game set in a prestigious boarding school in Maryland.

We're looking for writers who are dedicated to character development and quality writing. We have a bunch of different (IC) events planned, designed to both foster activity and to give characters a chance to compete for their House, because who doesn't like a bit of friendly competition?

We'd like to see a good mix of both moneyed students (both those against the sale of the school, and those who don't particularly care!) and scholarship students (who are probably pretty tired of the stigma that lingers around scholarships and for whom the sale would mean a dramatic decrease in school fees). Bring on the inevitable conflict between the so-called Haves and Have-Nots!

So, if this type of game appeals to you then please read the relevant information and join us!

The Lost and Found

Supernaturals are in every dark corner of the world.

The world is filled with so many types of people, it seems near impossible to keep track of all of them. But that is what "They" do. It's unclear when "They" started, how "They" became so organized, but as long as anyone can remember, "They" have been there in the shadows, watching. Few people know who "They" really are, what "They" are called, but their purpose is well known throughout supernaturals; "They" keep you safe. Safe from the humans, safe from other supernatural species.

Sometimes, safe from yourself.

This is where L'académie des Objets Trouvés comes in. Affectionately called The Lost and Found, it is a school where adolescent supernaturals are taught to hone their skills, hide their telling physical attributes, and adapt to living in the world of the humans. Only .03% of the world population are supernatural, and it is only through the close monitoring and assimilation strategies of schools like this that they have continued to thrive undetected.

The Lost and Found is a supernatural school with a complicated history and an easy premise. Players can play as students or teachers, and can choose from a variety of supernatural races (or suggest their own!). Occasional school wide plots ranging from creepy to silly help keep things lively, and players always have input. Students are between the ages of 16-19, and players must be 18+ (due to mature content).

It's just like any other boarding school- grades, tests, dances, rumors, crushes, roommates, and bad cafeteria food. The only difference is here, your teacher really is a demon. Well... there is one additional difference, just a small, minor catch.

You're not allowed to leave until "They" decide you're ready.

JUNCTIONED, an all-Final Fantasy game set in FF8

JUNCTIONED

Exactly ten years have passed since the last Sorceress War. Not only have Squall Leonhart and his team gone on to become public figures in their respective fields of expertise, but the world itself has flourished. Esthar, the once reclusive technological marvel, lowers its cloaking devices in a show of faith to the rest of the world; the absence of Deling City's once tyrannical stronghold over the Galbadian continent allows the passion for transportation and telecommunication to make their triumphant return. A formerly sparse world map sees the reconstruction of towns desiccated by the strains of military occupation, and new settlements seem to pop up overnight.

People, however, are never far from conflict. Vinzer Deling was by no means the only man hungry for power, and the last decade has given rise to countless others poised for global domination. Religious zealots known as Hyne's Descendants decry the use of magic and Guardian Forces by those unworthy, and are rumored to have found ways of tampering with natural draw points to poison its users. Finally a group of concerned citizens, calling themselves Cultivators, advocate for the reformation or complete dismantling of Balamb, Galbadia and Trabia. In the absence of a Sorceress threat they are convinced Garden is but a breeding ground for trained mercenaries at the beck and call of the highest bidder.

Of course, those closely affiliated with the Gardens know that its services are needed now more than ever. A changing world leads to civil unrest, and there are fires big and small to be put out. Their mission statement may have begun with the protection of innocents against Sorceresses, but it certainly hasn't ended there. Our story carries on and the state of the future is still yet to be determined.

[info]junctioned is a Final Fantasy VIII game set ten years after the fall of Ultimecia. It centers around Balamb Garden's staff and student body, with opportunities for further characterization elsewhere. We allow canon FFVIII characters, characters from other Final Fantasy games that can be edited to fit the setting, and original characters.

We've also got a couple of open slots for FF8 characters like Selphie, Irvine and Raijin! Check our wanted board for sought after lines and characters.

PREMISE CAST APPLICATION TAKEN/HELD

Welcome to the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning. This is the home, the training center—the very foundation—of the X-Men.

It is a school that has been founded to be the home that many mutants no longer have, either because they rejected or left out of fear for their own safety. Gifted youngsters are safe within the walls of Xavier's, learning to hone their powers and preparing them for a world that fears and hates them.

Trouble lies upon the horizon as politicians move to push through anti-mutant legislation, including new mutant registration laws. This only causes the Brotherhood of Mutants to stir up trouble in opposition. Students must decide where they will stand when humans and mutants alike reach their breaking point.

[info]xmenmods is a game influenced by the X-men film trilogy and X-men: Evolution; a low level stress game based out of New York and laid out for players to explore their characters and the society around them as humans struggle with the concept of mutants, students work through typical teenage angst and the Brotherhood and the X-men continue to find themselves at odds.

St. Margaret's

St. MARGARET'S ACADEMY

Rule #1 - Keep your fangs and claws to yourself: no snacking on any of the student body.

Rule #2 - No magic in the hallways.

Rule #3 - A full moon is no excuse for not having done your homework.

St. Margaret's Academy for the Gifted is, according to all the brochures and websites, one of the best and most exclusive private schools in the USA. (It consistently ranks high on an international level, too.) Their staffing is excellent, their exchange students are polite and well-spoken and their sport teams bring home plenty of trophies. What is not particularly well-known, however, is how they select their students.

There's a reason for that. St. Margaret's only takes in students that have been touched by the supernatural. Vampires, were-beasts, leprechauns, witches, nymphs, even humans with psychic abilities... All of them are welcome, as long as they're sentient teenagers who do not feel the need to eat human beings. At St. Margaret's, they will receive an education of the highest standard, while also learning how to integrate themselves flawlessly in the human world without giving the game away. Enroll your progeny today!

St. Margaret's is a fresh, open and slightly off-beat supernatural high school RPG that features Original Characters and focuses creativity, player input and story-telling. If that seems like you're cup off tea, come join us! The game opened on 1 October.

Spirit Communication. Students in this focus are the most mysterious on the island. Their magic doesn't rely on the physical elements of their environment, but the metaphysical. They communicate with the dead. Friendly ghosts, poltergeists, one-legged pirates... they all show up from time to time. They are the only students who can actually have a conversation with someone from the world outside of Atlantis - although they still don't quite exist in the physical world.

Talking to the dead isn't just for the pagans and goths among us. Variety is key. Not all spirits want to talk to kids with smoky eyes and black nail polish. If the wand chooses the wizard, the ghosts choose the students.

Come one, come all.
Talk to the dead at Atlantis.

Absit Omen: A Harry Potter RPG

|| Main Page || Forum || Plot || Rules || How to Join ||

A decade has passed since the Battle of Hogwarts. For most of the magical world, life after the end of the Second War was been relatively peaceful. But even the most optimistic witch or wizard knows that no peace can last forever.

When an old man dies mysteriously in the Three Broomsticks, Magical Law Enforcement quickly dismisses it as nothing more than a tragedy. But was the death really an accident, or is something more going on? It seems that someone is interested in tracking down former supporters of Gellert Grindelwald, decades after the notorious Dark Wizard's defeat. Are they working "For the Greater Good," or do they have some other nefarious purpose in mind?

Meanwhile, the Tetrawizard Tournament pushes on at Hogwarts. Though Durmstrang has taken a strong lead, Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, and Salem Academy are battling hard to catch up. But there are just as many political moves being made behind the scenes. The goblins of Gringotts Wizarding Bank insist that the Goblet of Fire is rightfully theirs, and the Ministry must rush to verify their claim.

Elsewhere, there are hints of even darker shadows. The Wizarding Blood Alliance has been quiet recently, but the infamous terrorist group will surely not remain quiet for long. Add to that rumors of a dark magical circus trying to abduct innocents off the street and a brand new night club that demands absolute secrecy -- and sometimes even more -- from its members, and you'll soon hope that the ancient words of protection still work: Let there be no evil here.

Do you like glee? Do you love the characters? Are you invested in what Rachel's going to be singing? Do you care if Kurt gets a boyfriend? Do you like watching people come together and learn and grow?

Do you think they messed up a lot of the storylines? Do you think Finchel's great but they moved too fast? Do you think Blaine never would have cheated on Kurt?

Then this is the game for you. We will spend a month on three episodes at a time, and we'll do things the way we think they should have been done. Change things, add new things, do things the same. It doesn't matter.

Duets is an AU game with the option to be canon compliant. Ships up to the player, no set endgames. Original characters welcome. Canons first come, first served.

This is glee the way it was meant to be.
