On her way to the kitchen, taking a break from rebuilding the hallway where the rafters had collapsed like dominoes in the mansion attack a week earlier, Jubilee heard the hallway phone ringing. She knew that Professor X's office phone ringer was probably off, as he was very busy, and so she sighed and went to answer.

The ID coming up as "pay phone" was no surprise--not all of their friends and allies had cell phones, as many lost or destroyed electronics in battle or even in training, and thus, most X-Men carried a phone card to make calls from pay phones in a pinch.

"Xavier's School, Miss Lee speaking, how may I direct your inquiry?"

	Ah, Jubilee. Nostalgia set in for a moment. He missed the little hyper girl following him around, until he remembered how annoying it got sometimes. A great gal, just very hyper. "Jubes. It's Logan. "LOGAN!?!?!?!" She knew from experience that he had just pulled the phone back from his face, wincing a little, but though she fought against her own volume, she gave up pretty quickly...

"Logan! Holy shit! Where are you? Are you ok? Where did you go? What happened to your phone? No, nevermind. We were attacked, Logan! And--I have to talk to you about--this line probably isn't secure--where are you now? Can you come home? I miss you! WHERE ARE YOU!? Logan?!"

She paused for breath--a rare occurrence--and he interrupted her with a note of affection in his voice.

And wince he did. He was happy to hear the familiar voice and glad she was so enthusiastic, but right now he really needed to talk to the Professor.

"Jubes, I'm at a rest stop upstate. Glad to hear you're ok. I'm headed back to the Mansion actually. We'll talk more when I get there, I really need you to go get Chuck for me."

There was a slight note of affection in his voice, mixed with a stern plea for her to get the Professor. He hoped that she had calmed down from her initial hyperness once he arrived at the Mansion.

She nodded, even though he couldn't see her. "Yeah. Ok, ok--I'll get him. But...soon? You'll be home soon?" Her voice had quieted now, almost pleading. She had a lot of friends at the Mansion, hell, her teammates were her family, but one mutant held a special place in her heart.

After Logan agreed, she asked him to hold on and headed around the corner to the Professor's mostly-reconstructed office space.
