He continued tossing the brick into the cart, as Pete told him about his concerns. Seemed like there was something more to the worries that the metal Russian would have admitted to him, but he wasn't one to pry. He simply responded with truth.
"We will worry about it when it happens, Pete. I registered, just to be safe. If Magneto wants to make something out of it, we will respond as needed."
Before he could go more in detail about it, the two young women came along. First was Jubilation Lee, who spoke as reaching her hand out. Scott was a little confused, but shook the girls hand with a slight smile.
"Yeah, Pizza is fine. Quick in a situation like this. Thank you, Miss Lee."
When your entire home had been leveled, Pizza was gonna work. It was better than nothing. As he turned to continue to remove rubble, he heard another voice. Looking over his shoulder, he saw the young redhead looking depressed. Apparently, she had been here during the attack. Facing her, his face shifted to an understanding one.
"It's fine, Miss Grey. No one could have been ready for this. With most of the Senior staff away, you did pretty well."
He paused for a minute, smiling jokingly as he spoke again. "Except for the majority of the school being demolished."
He patted her on the shoulder, before loading the last of the pile he had into the cart.
"I might be leaving, Pete. You able to handle the students and the rebuilding?"
He was jet lagged more than he had been in years. Probably the combination of flying for almost a day, and coming home to his school being wrecked. He had a hotel out in the city, and we looking forward to taking a well-deserved nap.
