One foot in and one foot back.
Characters: Wanda, Speed, later Pietro
Setting: Outside a cell under S.H.I.E.L.D., then Avengers Tower
Content: Cursing maybe, but nothing worse
Summary: Wanda finally visits her "son" then discusses the whole thing with her brother.
Admittedly, Wanda had been putting this off, visiting her incarcerated son in his cell below S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters. Still, it wasn't entirely her fault. Nick was being ridiculously strict about who was allowed to see Tommy and, in fact, Wanda was fairly certain that number had been zero. Not even Billy had been granted access to the prisoner and he technically had more claim over the boy than Wanda did. Add to that the fact that she and Nick weren't speaking- he still hadn't quite forgiven her for cussing him out in his own office- and it made the whole thing that much harder. Wanda's own reticence, her feeling of pure betrayal, was another obstacle entirely. Finally, however, she went to Nick and apologized and, because at the very least she felt Tommy didn't deserve her abandonment, asked to see the prisoner. She was escorted by an agent in an elevator with a special access card and they stepped out into a sterile long white hallway filled with cells with reinforced bullet-proof glass fronts and little silver grilles for speaking. Few seemed to be occupied and Tommy's was the very last one. The agent left her there but moments later two more, guards presumably, came to lurk nearby. It was annoying, but she supposed it was understandable. Wanda stepped up to the glass and leaned forward to speak into the grille. "Hey," she said softly, uncertainly. She already felt that this meeting was going to be heartrendingly difficult.
