The possibilities, which Cassie had not even begun to really consider, were staggering. That was why she chose not to think too much on it and hoped things would work out. She'd found the boys, after all, there really were few reasons why the others shouldn't be able to find them if they were here. Unless they'd been injured or were being kidnapped or something equally terrible that made Cassie's stomach wrench with guilt so that she stared at the checkered tabletop in silence.
When she finally spoke up, her tone was far more uncertain, "Still, they would take the chance. Tommy and I took the chance when we approached each other, and when I first came to find you Teddy." Her gaze remained on the table where she traced patterns in the condensation left by the bottom of her glass of coke. "They should have found us by now," she murmured and when she glanced around at them her expression was worried.
