Characters: Kurt Wagner, cameo by Professor Xavier Setting: Regent's Park, London Content: PG Summary: A mission for Kurt
"Always your pointed word!"
"Ay, pointed words! I would fain die thus, some soft summer eve, making a pointed word for a good cause. To make a soldier's end by soldier's sword, wielded by some brave adversary—die on blood-stained turf, not on a fever-bed. A point upon my lips, a point within my heart."
The set was minimal, but the costumes were incredible, and the fight choreography was some of the best Kurt had ever seen. It was a muggy, summer evening, and the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre was putting on a production of Cyrano De Bergerac. Unable to mingle with the crowd, Kurt satisfied himself by watching the production from the dark shelter of a tree, hiding among its branches. Kurt always felt a close affinity with the title character of the play, though it wasn't a large nose that Kurt had to contend with: fuzzy blue fur covering your entire body and a pointed tail made you stand out much more, hence his reason for hiding.
With the recent mutant trial making headlines, Kurt had even more reason to keep to the shadows. Anti-mutant sentiment was high, and for somebody who was as obviously different to be out was a risk, but Kurt couldn't help himself. This was closing night and he had to see it. The story was one of his favorites; it was inspirational and put Kurt in a heroic mood. Which was a good, because the next thing he knew, Kurt heard Professor Xavier's voice in his head, contacting him psionically from miles away, in New York.
"Kurt. I've just uncovered a plot to bomb the court building where Mr Harte is being taken, tomorrow. I need you to be there to prevent this from happening."
"The mutant on trial?" Kurt frowned, becoming quite serious. "Of course, Professor. What are the details?"
