Jessica hardly got the chance to close her eyes and sink into the mattress when the doorbell rang. She squinted at the clock--5:35am--and decided that she'd imagined the bell because no one, no one in their right bloody mind would show up at her doorstep at this time of morning. Nick, maybe. That really leave anyone else. And then she heard it again. Jessica groaned into her pillow before forcing herself out of bed and crept quietly to the front. Paranoia crawled up the back of her neck; the possibility that it was HYDRA lingered in the back of her mind, and she wouldn't put it past those bastards. Carefully, she leaned against the door with one hand channeling energy, and checked through the peephole, then relaxed her shoulders and cursed under her breath. Jessica opened the door, glaring sleepily.
