Looking good, Ms. Wing." A petite brunette dressed in solid blue medical scrubs worked expertly around a holographic monitor. The redhead smiled and lifted her arm, watching as the nurse checked her blood pressure, charted it, then moved to adjust the flowmeter pumping Colleen with oxygen. After being transferred from Nova Corps headquarters to the Sphere's medical bay, she received around-the-clock care. The infection had, for the most part, been extracted, her blood cell count back up, though the doctors wanted to keep her for a couple more days, just to be sure of her recovery. "Hungry?" the nurse asked. The antibiotics didn't allow much for an appetite, but if she didn't eat, she'd only feel sick. So Colleen nodded, "Please," and when the nurse asked for special requests, the fighter asked for chocolate pudding.
With an obliging smile, the brunette left to grab lunch. Colleen pushed off the blanket and sat up in her bed, cross-legged, and picked up the tablet on the tray in front of her. A category sprung up in front of her, offering her a countless variety of day, weather, and location. She picked a rainy afternoon in Japan, and looked as that vivid image expanded across the long wall, and the room filled with the soothing sound of rain coming down on trees, lake, and mountain. It even smelled faintly of petrichor. Colleen took in the artificial environment, missing home and happy to be home away from home, and squeezed the heat out of her eyes. Just then, the nurse came back with a small tray of food and drink, saying something with a cheerful grin that Colleen hadn't quite caught and could only nod politely too.
"Thank you," she murmured, and the nurse grinned again, you know what to do if you need anything. After she left, Colleen picked up her spoon and went straight for the pudding.
