Yes, it was silly to imagine Pietro would just forget about his wife, but he did think with enough work he might accept her death, particularly in his current mental state. "I doubt I'll ever forget when you keep so kindly reminding me," he shot back, but he nodded anyway. She was right, of course, but then she didn't know of his plans for Pietro. Pietro could, perhaps, bring the people around. But he didn't have to tell her everything (not only because he rather thought the plan would elicit her derision, which he was not inclined to face more than he had to).
