By the time the SUV arrived downstairs, Nick had shown Jasper how to calm the goat and found a belt to use as a makeshift leash to get the fucker downstairs and into the vehicle. After checking on the cat one last time (it was sleeping in a laundry basket), they headed downstairs with their devil-eyed charge. The agent who handed Fury the keys only raised his eyebrows at the scene of the Director and former operative shoving a goat into the back of the SUV, but he knew better than to ask. When goat was settled, Nick got in the driver's seat, asked Jasper for the address, and settled in for a drive through traffic. They finally got where they needed to be after nearly being clipped twice, witnessing an accident, and four verbal confrontations between Fury and other drivers (one an elderly woman) back and forth through open windows. The goat also freaked out once.
It was a house, so that was a good start. Not some weirdo trying to keep a goat in an apartment. "You know this person?" Nick asked as they approached the door with the goat in tow. For some reason it hadn't occurred to him to ask before and he wondered how Sitwell got this set up. He could almost imagine him canvassing people on the streets, desperate to be rid of the animal.
