You climb the stairs, unsatisfy- Characters: X-Mansion people, multi-thread if you want for anyone to hang out with whoever Setting: Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters Content: Nothing questionable as of now Summary: Evening at the X-Mansion
This had not been the best week at the X-Mansion. Those involved in the crisis in New York City (which was a lot of the staff except for Kurt and a few others who had, apparently luckily, stayed behind with the students), had not fully recovered and the mood around the manor was especially sullen. The arrival of the surly Wolverine hadn't done much to lift spirits around the manor. Although Logan wasn't the most approachable man in the world, Kurt was still happy to see him. He'd just been smart enough to stay out of his way since he got back. None of the X-Men could really explain to him what had happened to them other than that they'd been afraid and that it had been chaos. Even now news stories merely speculated about the source of the chaos and official statements from organizations were ambiguous. No one really understood it.
The weekend provided an opportunity for students to get out of the unusually stifling atmosphere of the school and so on Saturday night there were very few people left in its hallowed halls. It was always strange to find the place empty, like the silence was louder than the bustling sounds of life when the students were around. Kurt encountered no one in the hallways, found no one in the kitchen when he made a snack, and then had the library to himself when he went in to find a book and curl up in a chair to read. Apparently it was going to be a lonely night.
