I was left to my own devices
Characters: Wanda, Wicked, Pietro
Setting: Xavier's School
Content: Nothing questionable
Summary: Just a friendly family visit
Living in the city for so long, it was easy to forget how serene it could be away from it. Wanda took her time walking up the long drive towards Xavier's School, enjoying a peace and quiet that was interrupted within minutes by a Frisbee whizzing towards her head and a shout of "Look out!" It bounced off harmlessly against an energy shield she put up and then bent to retrieve it and toss it back to the group of kids away down the wide expanse of lawn. Oh, right, students. Well, so much for tranquility. Still, it was really beautiful out here with the well kept grounds and the manor that always seemed to be in one stately piece despite the best efforts of its student body to change that fact. The fresh air and actual signs of nature life were a nice change of pace, too.
So long as she could steer clear of Rankin, she wouldn't regret making the trip. She should have come to see them a lot sooner, but something just always seemed to come up the last few weeks since she'd been out in the world again. They'd had to settle for phone calls and text messages, which was probably even a step down from astral projection. Wanda felt terrible about it, actually, but she couldn't change what she hadn't done and would just have to make up for it in the future. Starting with this visit and a pair of boots for Wicked and a few books she thought her brother might like.
Inside the mansion she found another group of students watching t.v. and so she asked if they knew where the Lehnsherrs might be and was directed to 'Professor Wick's' office where she found her sister-in-law behind a desk busy with work. "Wow," she remarked, leaning on the door frame. "You're taking this teacher gig rather seriously aren't you?" Wanda was only half serious; she wouldn't have been surprised if whatever Wicked was so engrossed in had less to do with teaching and more to do with Dazzler or Star Wars.
