Can't you see?
Characters: Hank McCoy & Pietro Lehnsherr
Setting: Dusk, X Mansion
Content: Nothing questionable, PG
Summary: After a needed hiatus Hank makes his return.
Truthfully, Hank hadn't known the car had stopped until the driver finally built up the courage to shake him awake. With a startle the fuzzy blue beast growled before peeling his eyelids open to stare at a very nervous Arabian man.
"My apologies entirely sir. I must have nodded off."
A toothy smile was accompanied with the reply but it seemed to be lost on the man as he began to pale further. Oh bother. The good doctor slid across the seat and got out of the car, feeling the shocks give a little when he exited. Hank stretched his arms and back before compensating the driver and bidding him a good day. The smell of burnt rubber was bound to fill the air.
What little he had with him was jammed into two retro suitcases which currently sat at his feet. His look was surely disheveled from so much travel. Doctor McCoy had been completing research in a rather cold climate for the past several years. Of the X-Men Hank had taken the loss of Xavier very hard and had eventually distanced himself with his work.
However those times were over starting now.
Hank approached the front gates and typed in a pass code to the intercom box. A quick and resounding buzzer was heard after that and the gates opened up. Snagging his bags from the sidewalk he made his way inside. His eyes twinkled at the setting sun as he absorbed this memory: the return home.
With that sentimental attitude he let himself inside the mansion, closing the door with a resounding 'pang' to which someone might inquire. Raising a bushy eyebrow The Beast scanned the room looking for occupants. He took a few steps forward into the entry way when he noticed a younger girl, perhaps a small twelve year old, sitting on the stairs watching him.
"Oh! Hello child." Hank set down his luggage, smiling at her.
Apparently that toothy grin of his was a little overwhelming, though, as it was met with a scream before she turned and ran away. McCoy lowered his shoulders and sighed.
"It's because I'm blue, isn't it?"
