Epic years later... character: Colleen, OT Misty? Jasper? Jackson Galaxy? setting: New York - Apartment [Backdated to yesterday] content: Violence summary: My Cat From Hell - "The Bakeneko"
Long story short, Colleen got rid of Ozzy. It should have happened after a number of instances--like when he brought on a rat infestation, or started tormenting her in her sleep; or even when he regurgitated human remains. If she had gotten rid of him sooner--the how's and whereto's were unimportant now, but rest assured, the safety of prospective pet owners had been heavily considered--Colleen reasoned she might have been able to save herself the trouble of having to defend her mental stability and seemingly groundless, outlandish accusations. It might have saved her a lot of things, that is, until she realized that her timing would not have mattered. She hit the floor with a loud, painful thud, then managed to roll and dodge the giant claw coming down on her.
Turned out, Colleen adopted a demon. A Bakeneko, actually, though 'demon' and 'cat monster' were fairly relative to her in this case. Her grandfather told her stories; they paraded around as cats to infiltrate and take over villages. They were cute until they started eating people and stealing their identities, and revealed their plan to replace humanity with their evil cat society. Her ancestors defeated them, but apparently not to extinction, as Colleen had heard it. And until now, she had been certain that her grandfather had only used that Bakeneko myth to get out of buying her a pet cat. But then, now she knew why--there was a chance that she might get one with magical powers and a thousand-year old vendetta. My Cat From Hell did not prepare her for this.
Colleen sprung to her feet and met the monster's blows with her blade. Its eyes, once green and glowing, sat dead and bloody now in their sockets, but the creature remained just as sharp without them. Gashes marred its muscular frame; the more strategic attacks did not seem to bare much effect on its stamina, if anything it only angered the beast more, and that didn't do Colleen or her apartment any good. Her own stamina waned more by each retaliation--one of the Bakeneko's fireballs finally hit, and sent her crashing onto her back again. She cried out as the monster pushed its claws into her injured chest, and he bared his fangs dangerously close to her face.
It will be over soon, human.
"T-thank...god."
And just like that, it was. Thick streams of blood spiraled down her arms, and her body trembled as the weight of the monster fell down on her in defeat and caused her blade to thrust deeper into its head. Colleen added another lunge for good measure and then withdrew her weapon from its mouth, scratching up her arms with its dagger-like teeth, and writhed free from underneath it. She touched the burn on her abdomen--that was going to need more than antiseptic spray--and let out a breathless chuckle as she squinted dazedly, vision dimming, at the broken coffee table before she collapsed. Misty was going to be so pissed, they just got that replaced. That was okay, she could blame all of this on Ozzy the evil cat monster--she had proof this time.
