Teddy's heart raced to hear Magneto say Billy's name, but the sneer killed that excitement quickly. His initial gut reaction was to be outraged at the man for denying his grandson, regardless that he might really not be his grandson. It was a protective instinct he'd never lost, and he remembered how sensitive Billy had been about his true origins given how insane they were. But then he remembered his Billy no longer cared for such things, and his heart fell. It was so easy to live in denial while they were isolated, seeing only each other as the team followed Kang on his rampage of dubious justice. But when faced with other people they used to know, even if they were from a different universe, old feelings and ideas came to the fore. He kept his face steady, not giving too much away, except a muscle in his jaw jumped and he couldn't help the flush that rose to color his cheeks.
"I... see." He didn't. He wanted to ask a thousand questions, but if this was Genosha, and it was inhabited in this timeline, he might not be in any position to make demands of this man. He amended his previous assessment of Magneto to the non-geriatric hot asshole. Come to think of it, mention of Billy had seemed to make him angry, so maybe he knew more than he was saying. Then again, everyone usually knew more than they told. It was among the most infuriating things about people.
"Madagascar," he muttered, trying to remember where that was. Nope. He was going to need a map. Teddy took a deep breath and nodded, and was surprised at the offer of help. He literally blinked at Magnus and let his hands drop to his side. He may have gaped for a few seconds. "You'd do that? I mean, thanks! Thank you, yes. That would be awesome." Okay, so maybe not a complete a-hole.
Of course, he had no idea what he would actually do when he got to Madagascar, or what he'd do for money. It had been so long since he needed money. He was accustomed to taking what he needed, or things were given to him, mostly out of fear. He would have time to feel properly ashamed later. Right now, he had a Sorcerer Supreme to find. If the Billy Magneto knew was much younger, then it was the wrong one, but his Billy had to be here. He had to. The spell had been erratic, but it had never failed to bring him into a world Billy was in, or had recently visited.
