The moment the machine powered down she'd felt like a weight had been lifted from her shoulder. Tony had solved the problem, the day was saved, he deserved that cheap cigarette and she, for the time being, could go on ignoring the mystery that Fury had left in her care. Caution was getting Wanda everywhere, actually, and stepping through a portal to god-knows-where wasn't high on her list of priorities at the moment- which was why Tony's suggestion came as rather a surprise.
"Check it out?" she asked flatly and raised her eyebrows. Right, because that was exactly what she wanted to do. She'd wanted to turn it off, there was a huge difference. Even if she'd wanted to going into it at all was rather problematic. As far as Wanda knew, no one was even aware that she and Tony were here and if something happened on the other side of that portal there was no one who could help them. And who knew what would happen? They had absolutely no idea what they were getting into. Maybe she just wasn't in a particularly adventurous mood, but it just didn't seem like the best idea. Fighting a threat and saving the world was one thing- journeying into the unknown for no good reason was quite another.
Unless there was a threat and, if Tony thought they ought to go in, there was a distinct possibility that he guessed at something that she'd completely missed. That he said 'we' and not 'I' made her think it was probably more dangerous than even she thought. Well, he was the expert.
Much as Wanda would have preferred to stay right where she was and maybe even get some more distance between herself and the portal, she found herself reluctantly sliding off the counter top to inch towards the machine. Like it or not, Fury had entrusted her with this thing and so she was responsible for whatever it was the thing could do. Stupid to think the problem was solved just like that; if it could just turn itself on again there was no telling what might come through- a door could open from both sides.
"After you," she said, still standing a few feet away with her arms crossed and her apprehension clear in her expression.
