Although Wanda couldn't fathom what he'd gone through with five older sisters who teased him, having herself had a rather understanding twin who never belittled her and was generally supportive, his family anxieties coupled with his relating his high school woes explained a lot about this adorably awkward man. It also did little to banish her growing suspicion that he did, indeed, prefer the fellas after all. Poor thing, he seemed so confused and a little socially inept, probably he could use a couple friends and maybe she could get him set up with a nice guy somewhere. Once she actually knew who he was, of course.
"And now I know your life's story and not your name," she quipped but her smile was curious and not unkind as she waited for him to tell her who he was (even though she still had that nagging feeling that she ought to know). She studied his burns again while she waited, his flinch hadn't been lost on her. Once she knew his name maybe she'd make that offer to heal him after all.
