Magnus watched her with his lips pursed, his gaze growing cold. She didn't seem especially pleased and that fact irked him; he'd done this for her, it was exactly what she'd demanded he do, ridiculed him for not having done already. There it was and here she was, apparently ungrateful.
"It was what you wanted," he reminded her, his tone tone still careful and his expression verging on dangerous territory. His pride in the afternoon's accomplishments was waning rather quickly, replaced by annoyance. Had she already forgotten all she'd said to him only the day before? He had no desire to fight with her again but he wasn't going to let her forget her own part in this, either.
"You said they had to pay, that they all had to pay. Well, the offenders have been punished. I've shown the world- what was it? The 'true strength of the Brotherhood'. I think, my dear, that my reputation remains intact." He stared at her a moment longer and averted his gaze for a moment, his voice dropping an octave, going flat. "Stark wasn't there, if that's what you're concerned about. My children and S.H.I.E.L.D. were the main targets."
