Characters: Kate, Cassie and Daisy Setting: Out and about, NYC Content: Daisy's mouth Summary: The (actual) girls hang out, go to an art show, get into trouble, try not to kill anyone.
Thus far, meeting Cassie's friends had only led to some unnecessary tension and occasional eruptions, so Daisy wasn't feeling particularly optimistic about the social experiment of the day. Out of fucking nowhere, though, Cassie had a BFF, which meant having to compete for attention and, now, their very first compromise. Maybe Daisy would start hanging out with Wicked more; she didn't really need that much attention to fulfill her social needs, and especially didn't need to compromise. At least her input was welcomed in the venue choice.
That was a subway hop away, though, and they were all in Manhattan, so breakfast tacos first and the opportunity to gauge just how unbearable being trapped in a rocketing tube was going to be. Since her 'hang out more with Wicked' plan had yet to come into effect, Daisy was still steady on the course of 'not hanging out with the team if she could help it'; she was early and had all the time in the world to mentally prepare herself. For example, Daisy could only guess it was going to be the subway. Maybe all of Cassie's friends could teleport, and the others were more useful than Billy ever wanted to be. That guy's actual superpower was something more like 'extended discomfort'. Or maybe the spontaneous friend didn't know a thing about the superpowers. Was Daisy supposed to keep a secret? That was dangerous territory.
Fingers balanced on the rip of her bowl of hot chocolate and chin in her hand, Daisy stared blankly across the counter at the guy sauteing sausage until he stared back and, distracted, dropped a rapidly heating pan. She raised her eyebrows at him and the sausage on his shoes, wondering if they still wanted to eat here. Maybe that was their first hurdle.
