Transire Characters: Tony, Justin Setting: MIT campus! Content: Stuff. Gross flirting. Summary: A class reunion would be fun if it wasn't for this asshole.
It had rained in the morning, but it was that kind of muggy hot that left the puddles straining to evaporate into the already oversaturated air, looking heavy and thick. Downtown New York was worse, crowded with bodies and exhaust on narrow streets, but Tony could still see it in the cooler jetstreams high above Cambridge, settling as a choking mist over the Charles River and making the whole city look hazy and unreal. When he dipped down closer for a landing, the buildings began to appear more solid with colours that didn't run, and in the temperature controlled confines of the Iron Man the familiar campus looked invitingly lush and pretty, newly green in all of the humidity with the dynamic architecture starting to throw high contrast shadows in a pink sunset. It took Tony some time before his eye settled on the Great Dome and he smirked. Undaunted, like clockwork, the students prepared their own kind of welcome by hacking the dome, this time with an LED display that looked like an angular Lite-Brite Iron Man helmet.
The lawn wasn't particularly populated at this hour as the mosquitoes started to bite, but there were a few witnesses to Iron Man's landing in front of the Dome. A handful stopped as he straightened out of the impact and got used to being on solid ground again, and waved back when he greeted them jauntily. Tony made a note to visit when the fall term got underway to get to know a few of the new students, impart some wisdom, and make sure some of them didn't go through their entire undergrad programs with their virginity. He was thoughtful like that. It just wasn't the same in summer. Leaving the kids in the park to formulate their stories for later about how they totally saw Iron Man, he strode casually off of the green and toward the labs, the Iron Man melting away as he walked to become a far less spectacular t-shirt and jeans. He had some time to kill before he collected his suit over at the residences and joined his graduating class in the hall. It was comforting to be back at MIT for now.
