Now it was Cassie's turn to not quite understand because she'd thought the whole reason Billy hadn't tried to take himself back was because he didn't know if anyone else was here. It seemed to her like actually knowing for sure would solve a lot of problems and let him finally go home. Unless, like her, he'd come to think of this place as home which was a nice thought but not something she was just going to come out and ask. She met his incredulous look with a shrug and an "Oh."
She didn't miss the look on his face but she gave an encouraging nod when he agreed with her theory. That was much better to consider than the alternative. "I guess we should just be glad Kate found us," she remarked and turned her attention back to the parade, even though her thoughts were a million miles away.
