Stranger Still

She really didn’t like Pete Campbell.

It grated on her, the way he made obvious jokes then proceeded to laugh at them though no one else did. And the way he was always bragging about the accounts he brought in and how important he was. He was like the worst kind of child, constantly demanding attention and recognition.

Not that he ever had anything positive to say about her work. There was no generosity in him. He’d never acknowledge that she had a good idea or had done a good job on a project.

Really, she didn’t like him at all.

Strange, that they’d been together those times...

Stranger still to think that somewhere out there was a little boy who was her son as well as Pete Campbell’s.
