| About: | Asylum Rules: 1. This is the most important one, so please be sure you understand it completely. This asylum is a safe space for those who suffer from obsessive compulsive disorder. That means we have zero tolerance for flaming, judging, rudeness or any other type of flat out asshattery towards any of our members. If at any point someone feels they’re being attacked or that the safe space rule is being broken, please don’t respond to it. Instead, contact one of the moderators (redscorner has more time on her hands at the moment, so you may get a faster response from her; however, we’re both available to answer any questions or deal with any concerns you may have) and we’ll address the situation offline and away from the asylum. 2. Understand that everyone suffers from OCD in different ways and with different triggers. Accept that. This is a place for support, not judgment. On the topic of triggers, please place anything potentially triggering behind a clear cut-tag with basic information on what the trigger is. If you post something that isn’t cut and one of the mods feels it should be cut, you’ll be asked to edit your entry and add the cut. If the entry isn't edited in a timely manner, we may delete the original entry and repost it with the cut. Please don't be offended if this happens, our main concern is the safety and well-being of all our members. 3. Understand that knowledge is power. Educate yourself. There are many great resources available online. NAMI (http://www.nami.org) is a great place to learn about OCD or any other mental illness and also provides up-to-date information on treatments and research being done. 4. Support one another. That’s what we’re really here for. Don’t be afraid to ask for help and don’t be afraid to offer help if you can. This asylum is affiliated with | |||||||||
