Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Jack and Eve
When: Early Evening
Where: Circean Delight
What: A Date

To Jack's mind, the amazing restocking of the entire ship, with everything going back to its original condition, it could not have been a better sign. Since when was everything getting into a better state not a good sign? Never, that's when.

Even for Jack, he was in a great mood, when he went to pick up Eve from her room. And considering the source, that was saying something. He was nearly bouncing in his happiness, and no caffeine in sight, merely good feelings and contentedness that flowed off him in heavy waves. Imagine a cartoon scene, where happiness flowed out from one source to do everything from perking up the flowers to making strangers smile, and you had the wake of happy that Jack left in his wake.

With a wide grin on his face, he lifted one hand and knocked on Eve's door.

Oh, it was definitely weird. But in a good way. Eve had found her room in pristine condition and the outfit she'd been wearing on New Year's Eve was spread atop the bed without one tear or spot. It was flawless again.

Which did not mean she would ever wear it again. No, today she was wearing a simple green cotton dress and matching sandals, a ponytail and a big happy smile.

She bounced happily to the door when she heard the knocking, and as she opened it, a feeling of warmth washed over her. Jack's grin was the best thing she'd seen in quite a while.

His grin would have widened if it were not for the fact that the laws of physics would need to be broken to do so, when Eve opened the door and was standing smiling behind it. Settling instead for grabbing her hand and pulling her in for a quick kiss, Jack immediately told her, "You look better than great. I'm starving, how 'bout you?"

The Circean and food was calling his, well, their names, and Jack was excited (besides just about life in general) to be going on an actual date with Eve rather than drinks and ending up in his room. Or chaos and ending up in his room. Not that he was knocking such events cause...no.

He was a happy dork, not a moron.

Her happiness and good mood were so great Eve even lifted up her foot when Jack kissed her, exactly a la movie, even if for only a second. She nodded effusively as she turned to close the door, speaking all the while, "Thank you, so do you as usual. And yeah absolutely."

Once the door was closed she gave him another sweet smile and motioned for them to walk, still holding his hand and making no pretenses to let go until they arrived at the Circean Delight.

It had been quite some time since she had last been on a real date, and given who it was with, Eve was doubly excited. Jack had grown on her like nobody ever had.

First his trip had been all about sleeping, and then he had met Eve, had some fun, and soon the trip was all about chaos. The latter three being pretty unrelated, unless Eve was somehow Calypso Goddess of the Seas and enjoyed messing with cruise ships.

Which was moderately unlikely.

Okay, so Jack really had to watch less movies on his laptop when bored. Especially movies involving ships or crazy things happening. He would just stick to science fiction or something, and hope that aliens did not come into the equation.

His fingers were quite content to thread with hers, as they headed in the direction of the elevators. “Everything’s back in its normal place, everything’s looking up.”

Eve wasn't Calypso, but she would probably think it was cool if she somehow came to be. But no, nothing that had happened was Eve's responsibility.

She smiled up at Jack and nodded. "Hopefully we'll be going home in no time." But those were empty words. She wasn't sure she wanted to go home, or where was home, or how to go from there. This trip had been like someone had put her on Pause, and now she couldn't think of a way to get on with things. Eve felt strangely stopped in time. And going home would feel like the weirdest thing to ever happen to her. After all this, that is. "I'm not even sure how long it's been. Do you know what day it is?" She asked as they waited for the elevator.
