Just might be an Angel

Who: Nik and London
When: Evening
Where: The hallway on I Deck, London's room
Warning: NSFW

London left Brooklyn to her own devices for the evening and decided to go exploring. When she returned however, she got lost and felt like a complete dork as she headed around the corner of the hallway in search of the room she and her sister had. Of course she'd feel even more embarrassed when upon turning this corner, she smashed right into tall, dark and broody. She'd dressed all cute that night, but she couldn't help but feel dorky for it now when she ended up on her butt and her dress flew up enough to flash her panties beneath it. "I'm sorry." she said immediately as she pulled the skirt down and reached over to pick up her purse.

Who: Francesca and Callum
When: After dinner
Where: Arete deck

Dinner had been quite satisfactory, and Francesca had foregone any after-dinner drinks at a club, choosing instead to take her glass of wine to go and get some work done. It was such a nice night out, however, that she collected her laptop from her room and went up to the spa deck. She found a comfortable lounger and settled in, having changed into dark skinny jeans, a pale gray silk tank and a black blazer - not discounting the possibility that she might still go out when she made her choices. The glass of wine was settled on the table beside her and her shoes - adorable black patent peep-toes - placed neatly on the ground at her side.

Legs crossed at the ankles, she pinned her hair back into a loose chignon, booted her computer and connected to the ship's wireless, quickly establishing a secure connection to her firm's network. She'd only just begun to pull up the files she needed when one of her smartass coworkers, apparently deciding she wasn't allowed to work on her vacation, tried to kick her off the network. Lips pressed into a thin line, Francesca's fingers flew across the keyboard. "Unbelievable," she muttered, keys tapping at approximately machine-gun rate.

Getting some drinkies.

Who: Ella and Chad
When: Evening, after dinner
Where: The Cult of Dionysus
Warning: NSFW

A little bit of Jack, a little bit of music and a whole hell of a lot of fine specimens of the female persuasion and you could bet that Chad was having a decent time. The room he'd been assigned was an obvious play for a good review and as far as he was concerned, the boat might just get one if they kept it up with all the freebies. It was a massive thing, the boat. Just about anything you could ask for was included. Theaters and clubs and bars and more food than a person could probably ever eat.

But that wasn't the point of the night for Chad. He'd think about the rating later, right now he was busy. Drink to his lips, his eyes flicked across the room as he leaned back against the bar and watched people traipse through, most already drunk and stumbling. He immediately wrote off those bitches. Drunk was one thing. So wasted they couldn't quite stand wasn't going to work for him. It was hard to fuck a girl who couldn't move around right. He'd just have to keep looking. Maybe someone would strike his fancy.

Forced Family Bonding

Who: The Jones Boys (Grigory, Slav, Ios and Nik)
When: Lunch
Where: The Grand Buffet

The Jones boys, accompanied by their parents, had been forced into going to the Grand Buffet for some family dining experience. Too bad about ten minutes into sitting at the table with their plates, their father and mother started going at it like a couple of ten year old's fighting over a pack of pokémon cards. They eventually excused themselves and once out of the line of hearing him bitch, Gor shook his head. "This is s-shit." he said. "How d-do we end up having t-to stay at 'family' dinner when a t-third of the family just hauled a-ass?" he questioned.

He just didn't understand that. At all.

And you know what? Fuck the stutter. Just because people were around didn't mean he couldn't talk right, damn it. Brow furrowed, he silently cursed god for making him the Jones boy with the stutter. Why couldn't it have been Nik or something? It just wasn't fair. Like there wasn't enough fucked up shit in his life without being unable to speak on top of it all.

Oh well. At least you're the smartest.

Who: Noah and Brodie
When: 10pm
Where: Cult of Dionysus

Noah spent most of the day relaxing in his room - which is exactly what it was made for. He had a zen room and it calmed his nerves almost instantly. He took a nap, munched on some fruit he ordered from room service and sat out on his balcony for much of the day. Once hearing of the Captain's speech, he decided to go to that and eat there before exploring the ship. After eating and rambling around for a while, Noah found himself at the Cult of Dionysus. He strolled up to the bar and ordered water with lime. Rolling his eyes at the bartender's sneer at his drink, Noah accepted his water and grabbed a high top table to listen to the house band. He tried not drinking because it interacted with his medication and the last thing Noah needed was for his medicine to not work properly and he have a massive flashback out of nowhere. So yeah, he was sticking to water for now.

let the festivities begin!

Who: Open to all
When: 7 PM
Where: Circean Delight

Even with all (or, most) of the passengers inside of Circean Delight, the grand restaurant managed not to look anywhere close to over-crowded - or even crowded at all. It was the height of luxury, with more than enough room for people to mingle between tables and not get in the way. After people found their tables and placed their dinner orders, a mature-looking gentleman in uniform took the stage. The stage itself was on the second level, but just by the rail, where it could be viewed by all on both floors. After introducing himself as Captain Theodore Hill, he heartily welcomed everyone to the Nausicaä's maiden voyage.

He proceeded tot ell a summarized version of the tale of The Odyssey, with much emphasis on Nausicaä's role as a saviour to Odysseus. Smiling, he closed the speech, "And so she told Odysseus, 'Never forget me, for I gave you life.' I hope to share with you all an experience you will never forget, and will cherish for the rest of your life." As the room applauded, Captain Hill stepped down to enjoy his meal at the captain's table.

family time

Who: Jerome, Alexander, and Leto (and Levon!)
When: Mid morning
Where: Leto's room

Leto was willing to admit, she might have made a huge mistake.

Spending the previous day (being both Christmas and her son's third birthday) building sand castles on Miami beach, and now going on a boat, where her son was living in a bona fide Disney scene... yeah, big mistake. She was never gonna be able to do better than this. Every birthday from here on out would pale in comparison to the room with furniture that looked carved into the side of massive trees, with live plants and (fake) animals everywhere. Her room - the Enchanted Forest, as it said on the door - was Wonderland to little Levon. Decorate butterflies and birds hung from the branches on the ceiling, and Levon had spent the entire time Leto unpacked their things running around and screaming in delight.

It was going to be a long day. Once unpacked, she breathed a heavy sigh, and headed into the sitting room to collapse on the couch - and kick her feet up on the massive, tree-trunk coffee table. Her father's room was adjoining, and she'd given Alexander an extra keycard to her room to be used whenever he pleased. She expected them by any moment now, unless Levon's happy screams persuaded them to take a little detour. "Don't you want to see the rest of the boat, Levon?" she asked.

Levon looked up at her and blinked. "Are there am-imals?"

Leto grinned brightly. "I don't know. I don't think so, honey. I think you got the amimal room." With that answer, Levon went right back to chasing fake butterflies and playing with various decorations in the room. Oh yeah. She was never going to be able to get him off the ship again.

Edge of the Ocean

Who: Andie and Dylan.
When: Early afternoon.
Where: Dylan's room on the H Deck.

The task of getting boarded on the ship felt a lot more tedious than it should have. It was why Andie was so happy to get her things settled in her room, where she could be alone in blissful silence for more than five seconds at a time. It was time to recharge. In her room, she could quietly sit down on the sofa, spin her pack of cigarettes on her knee, and consider going out on the balcony for a quick smoke. When they’d officially set sail she’d had a mild panic attack. What, exactly, had she signed herself up for? No matter what the price tag (or there lack of) was for this little vacation, she’d subjected herself to endless days of awkwardness. It wasn’t free, really; it was costing a little piece of her pride.

Time at least went by a little swifter while she was in her room exploring or on the balcony smoking, but it also meant that her routine as the shut-in had to come to an end. Dylan’s room was just beside her own, which was comforting to know. She didn’t even bother to put her Converse sneakers back on before going to visit him—Andie just waltzed up to his door in her bare feet. She’d managed to dress down since arriving on board; now in a pair of denim shorts instead of the skirt she’d worn earlier in the morning. There was a sort of Plain Jane southern aesthetic about her now, and she wore it with a greater level of comfort.

She knocked on Dylan’s door and then leaned against the frame with her arms folded over her chest. When he didn’t answer immediately, she kicked at the door with the base of her foot impatiently. “Come on, Dylan,” she said with a smirk. “You don’t have to waste time checking your hair in the mirror—it’s just me.”

you say goodbye, and I say hello

Who: Lizzy and open
When: Early afternoon
Where: Gaia greenhouse

She had had 'Hello, Goodbye' stuck in her head all day. This was fine by Lizzy, of course, and she had been humming it the whole time she'd been exploring the ship - meaning, basically, since she'd arrived on board. As she drifted about the ship, leaning over railings on the upper decks and doing her best not to knock herself overboard, she occasionally had a little bit of a bounce and dance in her steps. You say why, and I say I don't know.

Lizzy curiously now found herself in the ship's greenhouse. She had grabbed a handful of brochures to take along with her and read over later. The entirety of her interest in planets really only consisted of "ohhh, pretty!", but at the very least it was something fun and new for her to learn about for now. As she made her way slowly through the greenhouse humming quietly to herself, she took long hard looks at the flowers, studying them and making mental notes of things - names and characteristics she'd love to look up later.

A room without books is like a body without a soul

Who: Claire and John
When: Early evening, before dinner
Where: Homer's Library

The ship was huge, much bigger then she had imagined, but the library was relatively small and Claire didn't mind so much. It was easier to watch over a smaller place, she had come from such big libraries that it was almost a relief for there to be only one level. She shelved books with ease and even took a few moments to peruse the titles and sniff the pages, which was one of her favourite things about books. The musty old smell or the newer and crisp smell of the pages. She smiled to herself, as long as she was around shelves of books she was at home but she knew the homesickness would set in sooner rather then later if she sat too long. With that in mind she whisked around the tables, picking up books and periodically shushing people.

Who: Erik and Morgan
When: early afternoon
Where: Spa

Erik was in the spa waiting for his first appointment. They were already ten minutes late and he was tired of being cooped up so he grabbed his leather bound notebook and stepped out on the balcony adjacent to the spa, so he could still be within hearing distance if his client walked in. Resting his arms on the balcony railing, Erik opened his notebook and read back on his notes for his next erotica fiction novel, making a few changes here and there. Mostly though, his heart was heavy and his thoughts were consumed with missing his daughter. The ship had barely left and he already missed her so much. Erik lowered his head and his chest heaved in a massively sad sigh. He stared out at the ocean with unseeing eyes, completely regretting his decision to leave her with his sister.

All aboard the good ship

Who: London and Brooklyn with a cameo from Jude
When: Morning, boarding the ship
Where: Throughout the ship as they make their way to their room

London had been looking forward to a break and by the time the sun rose that morning, she was up, dressed to impress and ready to go. With her sister in tow, they boarded the ship, bags carried of course by a crew member or two. Each step London made through the hallway as they made their way towards one of the elevators was like she was walking down a catwalk. She could feel the eyes of the crew member on her backside and she couldn't care less. That was the way that things were supposed to be, damn it. A day in the life of a Devereaux. "Bout time we get on the ship." she muttered to her sister. "Could they have taken any longer?"

I'M ON A BOAT!!!

Who: Abbie and open!
When: Early afternoon
Where: sun deck

Abbie was a little wired. At least some of this was coming from her little stop at Cyamites (HOLY CRAP COFFEE AND CHOCOLATE YAY), but a good deal of it was just Abbie, well, being Abbie. She'd spent the morning with her family, and her dad had showed them around. After having lunch together, Abbie and her sister finally managed to talk the parental units in letting them explore on their own. Naturally, they went their separate ways. Abbie was pretty sure she'd seen Allie go off in the direction of the shops. Abbie had returned to her room to get Jill Valentine, her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, put her on her leash, and then it was out again. Cyamites had been a huge distraction, as had been the video arcade. But now she was wandering the upper decks, sipping her second oversized drink of chocolately and caramely (and beyond caffeinated) goodness, all the while humming "I'm On a Boat". It was only appropriate. She was wearing the t-shirt, too.

By the time she got to the Helios deck, her drink was mostly gone, and she was much less wandering - and a lot more bouncing. And a lot less humming, in favor of singing (or shouting) loudly. "I'm on a boat, I'm on a boat, Everybody look at me 'cause I'm sailing on a boat!"
