Note slid under Logan's door
July 7th

Paige's joined the team.  I told her to find you, that you'd do once a week Danger Room sessions for her -- that is if you can get away from your little toy for long enough.  And speaking of the French boy: either you get his ass into gear, or I'll do it.  Either way, his free ride's over.

Cramped letters under Logan's last message

And that was it. Scott had only sent the first message as a way to avoid having to talk to Logan. It seemed like all he was having lately were awkward conversations, or practical business related type conversations and he didn't want to get into it with Wolverine right now. He really didn't.

Unfortunately, the notes seemed to keep getting progressively worse. Rogue, on the other hand, was amused to no end, even volunteering to hand-deliver one, and laughed at Scott's increasing discomfort.

"Well sugar, Ah know y'all can't tell that's bright neon green, but holy. You must've riled Logan up right if he's resorting to emails." Scott merely grunted back, and sent his own email back. He'd been spending quite a bit of time with Rogue lately, only because she seemed to be the only one who really didn't care what was going on with the Jean/Emma/Him triangle. Such a gossip queen, she probably knows everything anyways. Regardless, he found himself enjoying her company.

When he got the text message, he pushed himself away from his laptop and got up. "Oh honey don't do this," she said, reaching out to stop him. "It's late. Go to bed. The last thing y'all need is to duke it out with Logan."

He shook his head. "No, I think this is exactly what I need." He left Rogue behind, muttering to herself, and headed down to the TV room. Earlier, while marking the sports section of the paper -- not his finest move -- he'd noticed that there was some important game on. Seemed a safe bet that that's where he was.

Entering the room, he was proven right. Logan was sitting on the couch, drinking Scott's beer, again. "Enough of these games. You have something to tell me, you come find me."

Logan looked up from the couch where he was currently sprawling in front of the game, beer in one hand that distinctly wasn't his own. He kept meaning to get out and buy some that wasn't so damn weak, but in the end it seemed like a better option to just... drink Scott's. Besides, he knew how much it pissed him off.

"Damnit, Summers, you're interruptin'."

"Tough." He reached over for the remote, and clicked the television off. "There. Now not only have I interrupted, I've completely ruined your night."

He hated to admit it but he was itching for a good fight and Logan was always one to piss off. Besides, last time he'd been the one to walk away: this time, he'd be damned if he did.

"Well, fuck." He crossed his arms over his chest, apparently still intent on not getting up off of the couch. "Somethin' you wanted or you not feelin' too good to fight right now? 'Cause hell if you aren't on dangerous ground."

"You know Logan, sometimes you have to be the bigger man," -- and yes, he was making fun of Logan's height, "and walk away. I gave you an out the other day, quite graciously I think. It's not going to happen today."

Sometimes Scott really hated having a visor covering his eyes because right now, he was glaring like there was no tomorrow.

Logan shrugged. "What, you think you can take me?" He snorted, apparently not thinking all that much of that idea, and finally having enough - he hauled himself up off the couch to face him. "Go ahead, Summers. Try it. Let's see how far that gets ya."

Even though Scott wanted nothing more than to show the runt who was boss, he was still mindful of where he was. It was late, they were in the TV room and this just wouldn't be good here.

"Not here. Danger Room." There they could get out as much as they wanted to without any worry that they'd be waking up any of the youth or the recruits. Plus, Scott could just give 'er without any concern. The Danger Room was made for training.. this would be just like training, only with no rules. He was okay with that.

Turning around on one heel, he left the room and headed downstairs as quickly as possible.

Well, that was interesting - apparently Mr. I'm-Better-Than-You was spoiling for a fight. Logan brightened considerably at the thought and took off after him. The Danger Room sounded pretty damn good to him, that way he wouldn't be getting mentally lobotomized for ripping apart half the mansion or its grounds and hell, it even had Scott Holier-Than-Thou freaking Summers' seal of approval.

Scott suited up in record time and while he waited for the sound of Logan's steps, he played around with the settings of the room.

He wanted a basic set-up, with no interference from the room. This was going to be a fight between him and Logan and nothing else. He programmed in a room, not unlike the living room they had been in, and sat back satisfied. As much as he was just ready for the fight, he didn't want it to be said there was any unfair advantage: they both were equally footed in this scenario.

"You ready?" He said, hearing Logan entering the main room.

Logan shrugged - he didn't feel like suiting up, didn't see the point 'cause hell if his suit got ruined he was just gonna get dicked about getting a new one anyhow. He shrugged off his shirt, however, unwilling to ruin that, and cracked his neck rather loudly. "Whenever you are, Prettyboy," he said, with a smirk.

"Scenario 1-A" Scott called out. The bare room around them materialized into a perfect replica of the living room they'd just left.

At Logan's smirk, Scott simply shrugged. "And I was born ready, Wolverine." Reaching up to his visor, he figured, why not start with a bang?

Aiming low, so he didn't hurt Logan TOO much, he shot for his feet. "I guess this kind of dancing isn't as much fun without a french boy around huh?"

Logan just rolled his eyes and took a step back, popping out his claws. "He ain't French, wiseass," he said, picking up the lamp from by the television and cutting the power cable before lobbing it fairly half-heartedly in Scott's direction. "Least if yer gonna crack wise get yer facts straight."

Dodging the lamp easily, he snorted. "Can't you tell that I just don't care enough to know the facts?" The lamp fell behind him, and the loud crash was enough to really start his blood boiling.

Firing upwards, he blew out the light, causing the room to fall to black. He knew the darkness wasn't going to be able to stop Logan, but he still thought it would maybe help a little, just until he reached the east wall. Storm was obsessed with those silly little oil scents, and reaching it, he broke it open, covering the room with the strong smell of roses.

"Ya just come off as ignorant," he replied, and failed to be at all surprised by the sudden lack of light. He scowled at the overpowering scent of roses, however, though it wasn't quite enough to cover the smell of Scott's hideous shampoo of choice, especially for Logan's senses. He shook his head and pounced over the back of the couch, retracting his claws because damn if he was going to kill the guy 'cause the lights were out. There'd be at least two women in the place that'd be gunning for him if that happened.

Scott rolled away from the couch, but not quickly enough and the sudden pain from Logan's fist engulfed his shoulder. Stifling back a moan, he sent out a blast aimlessly, just hoping to buy himself some time to move out of the Wolverine's way.

He didn't have his claws out now, but that didn't mean it would stay that way.

"Ignorant. That's a three syllable word. Didn't know you had it in you," he called out, kicking over the table. The more obstacles in Logan's path, the better.

"Funny, Summers." Logan paused, locating him from the pattern of the crashes of obstacles being tossed into his path. "Funny like screwin' around on a girl like Jean. An' people say I'm the dumb one." He took a couple of steps, careful not to trip over the lamp he'd thrown himself, and picked it up - his aim was off this time but it was close enough to whistle by Scott's ear. "We just gonna fight in the dark? This is lame even for you."

"You're one to talk," Scott answered. Turning his gaze towards the couch, he fired and set it on fire. "There's your light, Wolverine."

Hoping the fire had distracted Logan just a little bit, Scott charged at the Canadian in an attempt to knock him off balance.

Logan let him charge, let him hit him, and then rolled with it; he had the weight advantage, of course, all that metal in his bones, and he pinned him to the floor on his back, by the shoulders. "You're the one thought it'd be fun ta fight in a freakin' TV room, boss," he said, just waiting for the blow he was sure would come to dislodge him from his current vantage point.

Reaching out with his free hand, he tried to find the lamp that was on the ground. Aha . He wasn't deluded enough to know that punching Logan was going to do anything; in actuality, it would probably end up breaking his hand.

"At least I finally got you calling me boss." Holding to the lamp tightly, he smashed it against Logan's head, allowing him to get up from the ground. He hated being on his back.

The heat from the couch had managed to stay subdued, and he was trying to think of a way to use it to his advantage. He only had a few seconds before Wolverine retaliated. Kicking at one of the flaming pillows, he sent it over towards Logan's chest.

Logan cursed, loudly, and shook his head, blood dripping from his lip that healed pretty much instantaneously. Oh yeah, Scott was going to pay for that.

He knocked aside the burning cushion - didn't mean much when he was stripped to a tanktop and didn't have shirtsleeves to catch on fire. Maybe burned his arm, singed off some arm hair that tickled his nostrils for a second, but that all healed in a heartbeat as the armchair behind him proceeded to catch on fire. He stepped up onto the couch quite calmly, brought up one foot against the section left empty by the missing cushion and leaned forward, taking the whole thing forward to the floor. He stepped down, the room light enough now for him to pop out his claws with a satisfied little smile.

"Please don't tell me that's all ya got, boss," he said.

He head the tell-tale sign of Logan's claws, and grinned. So that's how it's going to be huh, . Even though he knew the other mutant could take basically anything, he still hated to be the one to really throw the first blow. Defense was always more important than offense.

Standing up, he crouched low, hand on his visor. The dim glow of the room outlined Wolverine perfectly and as he prepared to send out a strong blast to his chest, he hoped Logan wouldn't be moving any time soon.

Unfortunately for Scott, Logan had absolutely no intention of making the first move here. He hadn't been the one who'd asked for the goddamn fight in the first place and he'd be damned if he was getting the blame for bloodying up their fearless leader 'cause of some dumbass note-passing lunacythat made him wonder if maybe they both didn't need to grow the fuck up - it wasn't a notion that stuck with him for long, however, probably because he enjoyed riling the guy up so damn much and it seemed these days it was pretty easy, what with Remy who Scott seemed to disdain, not to mention what the guy thought of their little liaison. He'd never had Mr. King-of-the-Metrosexuals here with his fucking fancy-ass clothes and hair products that smelled better than some of the girls' pegged as a homophobe. He guessed sometimes you just got lucky.

God, they were complete morons. Rogue had been tempted to leave them alone but curiousity had gotten the better of her as usual. So she'd gone downstairs, and had sat in the control room and watched as the two idiots went at it.

"May as well just pull their dicks out and measure," she muttered to herself. "It'd accomplish the same thing." She didn't actually interfere though until she saw Scott ready his visor and Logan unsheath his claws.

Hitting the override button, the room went back to its original state. "Y'all are idiots. Go to bed." she said into the microphone. Without waiting for an answer, she shut down the room, locked it - she didn't want to chance one of them coming back up and trying to set it up again - and left the training area.
