Surprisingly Jean got up rather early the next morning, making a straight beeline for the...empty coffeepot. Grumbling about people who couldn't be bothered to make another pot, she then hunched over the counter, watching the machine. "Hurry up." She's in serious need of caffeine. Especially after her fight with Emma last night.
Rogue, on the other hand, had enjoyed the night's festivities greatly. Who would've though Kurt could be so sociable? Entering the kitchen, she cocked her head and smiled. Jean looked just about ready to snap.
"Y'all knows that a watched coffeepot don't boil any faster, right?"
One long finger lifted slowly up, pausing for a moment before it descended again. "Shut up... I need coffee. And until I have it, I'm not very nice."
Unlike the others, Rogue has never needed coffee and instead she poured herself a glass of orange juice.
Smiling, she sat down. "Y'all weren't very nice last night. Was that the coffee too?"
"That was Emma being her usual bitch self," Jean corrected. Err. Eyes slid shut for a moment as she sighed, before she straightened up, twisting to face Rogue. "I swear...that woman..." Makes her want to kill people.
"You can't blame all of that on Emma you know," she said, taking a sip. "I think some of all this mess belongs to Scott." There was no point in even pretending that she didn't know what was going on. Jean would figure it out.
A groan. "I know....Trust me. I know." Jean's none too happy with Scott right now, either. "And believe me...I want to kick his ass, too...just as soon as I'm finished with Emma."
"Want some help?" Rogue was highly amused by the whole situation but at the same time, she found it odd. She'd always looked up to Jean and Scott, thinking their relationship was so sturdy and now look at it. In less than a year, Scott was flip flopping worse than a crawdad stuck in a trap. Emma was obviously over the moon, but Rogue could see the pain her friend was in. "Jean," she began tentatively. "Do you wanna talk about it?"
"What is there to talk about?" Jean questioned, turning to insert a coffee cup directly under the drip. "Scott's been banging Emma when I'm out of town."No, she's not bitter. Seeing that her cup was full, the pot was replaced and Jean took a grateful sip of fresh coffee. Mmmm....
Jean is so bitter, Rogue decided. This is getting juicier by the moment. "Wait, Ah thought you two decided that this was the best idea for now?" Scott would never tell her any details, and lord knows Emma only likes to implant obscure memories. No, Jean is the best one to get any information from.
"Mmm?" She questioned.. "That what was the best idea for now?" Sorry. Jean's just waking up. She's not ready for a mental sparring match.
"Well, Ah dunno, sugar. All's Ah know is that one day, you two were as thick as thieves, and the next, Emma's involved. Kinda strange is all Ah'm sayin'." She heard the toaster and got up to fetch it.
A sigh. "There'd been...a few rough patches lately," Jean admitted. "I just... I didn't think Scott... I mean, Emma!" Of all the people he -could- have chosen, he chooses Emma?
Why not Emma? "Well, in all fairness to Scott," she said, buttering her toast, "Ah think it was Emma who started the whole thing." Although, if things had been as perfect with Jean as everyone thought, it never would've gotten that far.
Shush. A sigh. "This is a huge mess...and I don't know who I'm angrier at...Emma for starting this, Scott for giving in....or myself for...." not trying harder to keep the relationship going? "Never mind."
"For what?" Now that Rogue has started to get a small taste of what exactly is going on, she wants to know more.
"I wasn't exactly the ideal girlfriend, I don't think." Flying in and out of town on a regular basis. Distance puts a strain on things....be it emotional or physical distance.
Rogue thinks about this for a moment before nodding her head. "Yeah, but it's not like he didn't know you had to travel so much." Rogue really has no idea who she should feel loyalty to. Ever since coming to hte house, it's always been Jean and Scott, never Jean AND Scott, separate. She's respected and loved both of them equally and has found this to be very odd.
Yeah. Don't worry, she's not the only one who thinks this is extremely weird. "Yeah, but knowing it and actually experiencing it are two different things." A shrug. "I'm sure all of us share the blame....almost equally."
Finishing her toast, Rogue nods. "Well, Ah suppose that's right." Looking over to the clock, she sighed. "And speaking of Scott, Ah got me a danger room session with that man right now. Ah swear, Ah was only gone like two weeks, but he thinks it's been a month. Wants me in top, physical shape," she said, imitating him. Rolling her eyes, she stood up and took her plate over to the sink. "Ah'll talk to you later, Jean."
"Yeah," Jean nodded. "Have fun. Hopefully Scott doesn't beat you up too much." No. Really. If he's still pissed about last night...
