Thread: Scarlet Witch & Open Who: Wanda Maximoff and Emma Frost & Open When: June 25, 2008; Afternoon Where: Library; Xavier Mansion What: Wanda is working on controlling her powers.
Being in the life-saving line of work was never an easy thing for anyone to handle on a daily basis. It was made even harder when the people you worked with just so happened to be a group of super heroic mutants. Obviously, Wanda wasn't in the line of business that came with a dental plan and a tax cut. Still, nothing was more precious to Wanda than her teammates were and if this was where they stood, she would stand with them. Certainly, they'd had plenty of differences along the road, what group doesn't? But this was where she felt she needed to be now and that was all that mattered.
Unfortunately, Wanda had bigger problems on her hands these days. Ever since she had come to the X-Men, her powers had been on the fritz and in Wanda's case, that could end up being a very bad thing for everyone. For the most part, the Scarlet Witch was able to contain her powers, only using them when necessary and calculating them to perfection. Now though, things were beginning to get a little funny. Those she had explained this to claimed that it was due to stress as her powers tended to be bound to the extremities of her emotions, but whatever it was, it made Wanda very nervous.
So now, in an effort to calm her nerves, Wanda was sitting in the center of the library... four feet above the ground. Surrounding her was a large pentagram drawn onto the ground that was glowing a faint pinkish color. With her legs crossed and hands pressed before her, Wanda concentrated. She concentrated on the magic around and within her as Agatha had taught her. She controlled this mutation. It did not control her. As Wanda fell further and further into her meditation, the room around her vibrated. The colors and textures of the walls and books shifted and melted into each other like dripping paints.
