A Date, a date! A very important date!
Who: Pip and Felicity.
Where: Corner Pizza
When: Date night!

He was waiting, staring at the wall as he considered all his options. He could take her to Casablanca, or there was some weird movie showing. Mmm. Dates were hard to plan, particularly when one had to dodge over curious vampires that wanted to know where you were going.

The pizza parlor was winding down, it seemed, but Pip's stomach was growling. As bad as it was, he wanted the girl to show up so he could eat! He was a growing boy, after all, it was only expected that he wanted food.

Waiting, he picked at the table a little, turning his head back and forth as he watched people come and go. And yet his date was still missing.

She was late. She was never late... not really. Not for important things, at least... or at least, never particularly late. But tonight, she was late. This was why she was rushing a bit on the street, managing to just miss bumping into an older gent, flashing him a smile as she ducked into the door of the parlor right before he could scold her. A quick glance was all it took to find Pip, smile widening as she slid into the seat across from him.

"I am so sorry..."

"Hey!"

Pip wouldn't have said he was the best with 'on time', which was probably the reason he just brushed off the apology with, "oh, don't worry about it."

But he found his manners, and stood as Felicity took her seat. "I haven't been waiting long, anyway."

"Oh good... because if I had to explain why I was late, you'd think I was making it up."

She plunked her elbows onto the table, dropping her chin into her palms.

"So. Whats our agenda... are we eating? I'm kind of starved."

"Food first, I wouldn't want you to starve. And then I was thinking there was this showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show. If you'd like, maybe we could catch that? Of course, we'll be lacking in all the fine attire, but I can't see them keeping us out for it."

He beamed at her though, flagging the waiter to order their pizza.

"Oh, I bet I could pass for a transylvanian. Besides it's not like we look like total squares."

She smiled at the waitress, ordering two slices and a soda, and waited til Pip ordered before leaning in, voice dropping.

"It sounds like a blast... but I have a confession. I'm a virgin. I've never been."

He ordered three slices, looking a bit sad that that was all. But Pip wasn't exactly the biggest eater and somehow taking leftovers to the club before the show didn't seem right.

But at her confession, Pip laughed, "I have to confess," he said just as low, "I've only been once. With my mum when I was like...13."

She'd been trying scare him, or...well Pip didn't really know what she'd been trying to do. Either way, he'd found the whole trip fun.

"Oh, but you'll be the very voice of experience I'm sure. I'm sure I've alerady dealt with freakier things today, so I have no doubt we'll be able to bluff our way through it."

She grinned, curling one foot up under her on the chair, and reached for a paper napkin, idly twisting it.

"So at least I see you've been surviving on your fruitless diet.. I was afraid you might have to cancel on account of scurvy."

"Well it was difficult, this last week. But then I remembered our date and simply decided that scurvy couldn't be more fun. Thus with a little will power, I denied illness, and made it here alive." He beamed at her, before leaning back a little in his seat.

"And I think I've settled on a new tat verses more metal. Something about my skin demands color."

"Now I need that on a teeshirt... "Potentially more fun than scurvy"..."

She laughed delightly, ducking her head at the odd look the waitress gave them when dropping off drinks.

"Do you know what you want? I can't wait until I can get a tattoo... but my grandmother threatened to faint if I got one before I finished school."

"Well, I was thinking I could maybe add a Celtic cross or something on my back." He shrugged a little, sitting up to sip at his drink.

"My mum and her husband didn't like anything I got. I thought he was going to kill me when I got my first piercing. I was thirteen." It felt like forever ago. "But then he kicked me out three years later, so...I suppose it doesn't matter anymore."

"13? I'm surprised you found a place that would do it. Well... not too surprised. Still really cool though. How much ink do you have now? I already know what I want, when I'm able to do it... few more months, and I'll be gold."

She laughed, realizing she wasn't giving him time to answer, then tried not to fidget as she waited for the food.

"So how did you go from kicked out to living over a night club?"

"I have a Celtic knot on my left shoulder blade, a five-point star in the right hip, and..." he pulled his shirt down at the neck to show off his fang bite, complete with a little bit of 'red blood'. But curiously he asked, "what do you want to get?"

As for the rest of her questions, "oh....I spent the summer on the streets. A few months. Wasn't too bad, really."

She nodded appreciatively as he listed them off, though rolled her eyes a bit at the bite marks.

"Cute... but what's the deal with vampires lately? I had some guy earlier at work yelling about how he had to save my soul from vampires and other evil things. Like jesus freaks aren't bad enough."

She dug into a pocket and pulled out a pen, taking a napkin and smoothing it flat on the table as she began to draw.

"I can't draw, but I'll try to show you... it doesn't make sense if I just explain it. So what... you were on the streets and some posh night club owner took you in? That's pretty swank... But very cool."

"Oh, well..." The fact that he lived with Vampires didn't seem to be the thing to say. So he only shrugged. "I have some scares there, and I didn't want anything big." Which was true...if bite marks are 'scars' exactly. But the guy in the coffee shop was odd. And probably not a good thing.

"I won't hold your drawing skills against you, I promise." He said softly, shrugging a little.

"Oh! I'm sorry...." she flashed him a smile as she looked up. "I really like the tatt...I mean, if you were all uber goth and woe is me and I want to live forever and suck blood and drink absinthe alas the world hates me.... well, then it'd be a bit cliche, you know? Which I never really got, because if your life is woe and the would hates you, why would you want to live for ever? But for covering scars it's really pretty cool. I'm just... still a bit annoyed about the guy at work, I guess. But I'm going to forget about him, starting now."

She grinned, looking down at her napkin, and added a few more curls to it, before handing him a drawing that looked vaguely like this. "That's sort of what I want. It's a picture representing chaos theory. Which is probably pretty dorky, but I always thought they looked cool."

"Try being around people that are vampires..." He paused a moment, glancing at her before shrugging, "at least that is what they claim. All of them gather in the club. Sort of fetish like, they are." But he didn't seem really bothered by it.

Looking at the drawing he smiled and laughed a little, "well it could be worse. I'm sure someone has a unicorn tat out there."

"Darn...and a unicorn was going to be my second choice... I was hoping to be original. Maybe I'll go all sorts of unique, and get a butterfly. On my ankle."

She grinned, leaning back as the server returned with food, and she inhaled the scent of pizza for a moment, reaching for the various condiments, and pausing above the garlic.

"So... curious. On a scale of, say, one to ten... what's the probability of you kissing me later?"

"Oh, now you can't get any more original that that!" He laughed, though, looking at his pizza with adoring eyes. Food, to any young and growing boy, was the best friend money could buy. It did everything but sex, and if it did sex...well that would just be sort of gross. Blag.

But then food, sex, and 'are you going to kiss me later' all sort of blended into one, and Pip stared at Felicity for a long moment.

"Uh...." Sex...no, kissing! "I was..I...well...Um....Higher than 5." Yeah....

He was definitely a loser right there.

She watched him as he seemed a bit stunned by her question, a grin forming as he stuttered through an answer. He really was amazingly cute. With a bit of an arched brow she made it a point to consider his answer, then drew her hand away from the container of garlic powder that sat against the wall.

"Brilliant."

She ducked her head to hide her reddening cheeks, because really... brilliant? not the best choice in words, and had she really just asked that? Afraid she was going to start laughing, she just reached for her pizza, and began to eat.

Now that was cute. Much nicer than his 'hi, I'm a bumbler' answer to your question. Smiling, he shrugged a little and took a bit out of his pizza, and tried to eat with something like manners.

"So...what happened at work?" She'd started to say something about it, hadn't she?

Dainty was the only way to describe how she ate the pizza... if she thought she could get away with it in public, she'd eat it with a knife and fork, As it was, she held it with both hands, the slice resting on her finger tips, taking a small nibble at a time. Not that it seemed to slow her down...

"Oh, this guy? Comes in telling me he needs to save me from the vampires of London, and that monsters are real and no one knew because they hid in our society... And then? Then he ordered regular drip coffee. He was crazy. But he just went on and on about it, you know?"

"Crazy..." Only she really had no idea did she? He sort of stared at her for a moment, before shrugging. "Would be a bit cool, though, if it were. I mean it would be all 'Life forever, do what you want' and everything."

He paused a moment, taking a bite out of his food with a thoughtful look, "wonder what it'd be like to be a vampire."

"I don't know... I can't imagine being 30. Being 300? that sounds kind of out of hand. And I don't think you'd really get to do whatever... people would know if there was a local blood sucking fiend on their block, right? And an all-blood diet can't be too healthy. But if I was a vampire, trolling London Underground? I don't think barristas would be top on my list of those in danger."

"Well maybe she would be if she was really good looking, and...stuff."

God he was such a dork, loser...all those lame things. Next he'd be telling her all about his life as a skateboarder and midnight runaway.

"Maybe we should find one, and ask his or her opinion on the whole thing."

She laughed, blushing pink.

"Maybe. And maybe vampires like coffee... who knows. Maybe it helps them stay up all night..."

She grinned, leaning in again a bit, having finished her first piece of pizza except for the crust, which she left on the plate.

"And where are we supposed to find an imaginary vampire to ask them?"
