Even though Kelsey wasn't Adrienne's father, the words coming out from his mouth burned into the girl's heart. She imagined that her own parents felt the same way he did, and she began to wonder again if she should just disappear in order to make life simpler for everyone. The young girl continued to cry silently there in the hallway, her knees pulled close to her chest as she hugged them tight. She looked like a small child, and she knew she definitely felt like one.
Her vision was blurred with tears, but she still paid close attention to the words being spoken behind the door. At least Zach was standing up for her, and that alone brought a small smile to her face. But she didn't like the idea that she was the cause of this fight between Zach and his father. Maybe leaving was the best thing to do.
