Re: Irei, Sascha, Emily and Echo
Irei had been suspicious of Sascha dressed in such nice clothes. Since when had his friend even wanted to go with him to get a drink? He hadn’t even been all that sure he wanted to go out that night. It was his birthday, but normally he would stay at home with his friend and his friend’s mutt. The days of Sascha holding Irei’s hair back after he had had too much to drink were pretty much over. Irei couldn’t help but wonder about it.

He put his hands inside of his pockets as they came closer to the Tiki bar. Irei was wearing a cream turtle-neck sweater against the cold that was growing everyday in this place. He also wore a grey jacket over that . Irei didn’t like the cold. He looked as Sascha and smiled, despite the cold, because he certainly didn’t mind seeing his friend dressed in clothes that weren’t torn in places or worn out at the elbows or the knees.

For all of his observant nature, Irei had remained surprisingly oblivious to all of Sascha’s party planning. Other factors must have been distracting him. That or his friend knows him very well and knows how to keep Irei from becoming to suspicious. Even with all the fliers posted around the town, Irei hadn’t caught wind of it. Sascha must have found places Irei didn’t frequent much.

Irei heard music as they got closer to the bar. Not really a suspicious thing, but Sascha seemed like he was getting antsy. Irei looked back at the Tiki bar and blinked a few times as his friend spoke to him. Was this supposed to be a party? “Sascha,” Irei gave his friend a sidelong glance, “You planned this? For how long?” Irei couldn’t help himself and brought his hand up to cover his face as he laughed.

He walked in among the crowd and smiled as Emily and Echo approached him. He returned their hugs, albeit awkwardly. Echo held something in her hand and gave it to him. Irei inspected it, a gift. He opened it and pulled out what looked like an antique switch blade. He ran his fingers over the metal design. It was cool to the touch. He wondered how long it would be before Sascha tried to take it from him.

“Emily-chan, Echo-chan...This is beautiful. Domo arigatou gozaimasu. Thank you very much.” Both of the ladies looked absolutely stunning that night and he smiled. “Ah, of course you may have a dance Echo-chan. It was very nice of you to come to my...birthday party.” Irei had never had a birthday party before, not that he remembered anyways.
